Two Russian guys up the alley from my work pounced on me as I'm walking to get lunch.
    You Ruski?
    No no sorry
Is ok I speak, car from auction does not run, you look at 5 minutes.
    Oh uh I'm grabbing lunch
Is just 5 minutes come look come look

Long story short it's a Chevy Volt that won't start or come out of park with all the warning lights on, told them we can look at it but it has to be at the shop I don't do side work but might need the dealer. They asked where I lived that wanted to tow it to me to do discount side work, I don't do that. Asked me what kind of car I drive. Ended up trying to rent me their spare room 'is so close you save money yes to pay for the new car is expensive yes'.
    Ugh.

Yeah it's crazy. Would you like a 12 foot chassis for a dump bed and also the least powerful motor and trans combo? Sure, we can sell it, and we'll rate it with a payload capacity of like 5 tons too. It'll be slow as balls but in theory they CAN move that much, just not fun, fast, or efficiently.

For 30 Bucks this thing is amazing. Just tested it out on my LTT Underwear since I had a lot of those Stupid fabric pills on the elastic strap on all of my pairs and now they're like new. Handy little tool, glad I finally bought one.

Love handing people a laptop with a lid latch, sitting back and watching them struggle. Wouldn't think it would be so hard to figure out.

That blower is for the memory on the daughter board and on that same daughter board is the 2nd CPU which also has its own fan. The CPU on the main motherboard just has that intake fan to cool it off and it does well enough I haven't had any issues with it so far. I made sure to reapply paste to both CPUs and I cleaned out the case as best I could and now it's my dedicated Minecraft server PC.

    That's a Socket 939 Athlon 64 X2 4400+ with 2GB of DDR 400 CL2 RAM. GPU is a GTX 260 896MB.
Don't think it runs Fortnite 😂

Customer dropped off this behemoth for recycling. Dual Intel Xeon X5570 processors, 12 sticks of HP DDR3 ECC 1333mhz RAM, Nvidia FX 580 (I replaced it with a GT 1030 in the meantime). I'm taking this baby home to play with, no way I'm letting it get recycled.

So the reasoning for polishing it was that roughness creates friction, and because of friction when the "turbine ball" rotates inside the water, the water won't slide as smooth on the walls as if it was polished. I can tell that my fingers felt no roughness compared to when it wasn't polished before.

And it seems to be true, I plugged in back, had the same settings as I had it controlled via DC voltage not PWM (is quieter than PWM impulses as DC just flows)... so the result is that the pump also spins faster at the same settings. I had it set to 10% voltage but it spins about 20% faster now when looking at RPM, I don't know if it's quieter as I couldn't hear it even before, but it's MUCH quieter when at high RPM. Back then I could hear it at already 15% but now I can't hear it at even 25%, in both scenarios the PC was on my desk, the fans were off. It helps for sure!

A couple of our internal apps stop working. I inform IT, they put the updated apps into our internal app store. I download them and check that everything works. I notice that one of them has trouble logging in, so I restart my phone and everything works fine after that. Given the hiccup and knowing the complete lack of tech affinity among my coworkers, I decide to write a short guide on how to go about downloading and installing the apps in question with plenty of screenshots and mention that in order for them to work properly again, they might have to restart their phones too. I send an E-Mail to everybody in my department with all the information. A couple of minutes pass and someone asks me for help with the steps I clearly outlined in that little guide. More people come by asking for help doing the things I outlined in the guide. One person managed to nuke her enrollment in our corporate MDM entirely. I reevaluate my will to live and question why I even bother writing guides for people who are either too stupid to follow them or too disrespectful to put in the effort before consulting me.
