  1. Repost: I am reposting this because it might be flooding away and no one is going to answer me if it floods away so I am reposting this, hoping that someone out there might be able to help me. Hi LinusTechTips forum, I have a very old Acer Aspire 4739. It is my parents laptop. The reason why my parents keep this is they don't want to buy a new one, but that's just a side story. They have a lot of work to do so they don't really spend much time on the laptop. One day, my parents decided to check something out on the laptop. And that's when the problem appears. When the laptop is turned on, there is nothing on the display. The LED light is showing that the computer is on and charged, but nothing showed up. The next few minutes, the fan usage increases to max. I don't know what is going on, so I assume that because they haven't used the computer in a long time, the computer is kinda "off". I left that for 15 minutes, still nothing. I was worried so I forced shutdown it. I turned it on again and find the computer keep turning on and off. I have tried removing CMOS battery, leave it there for 2 hours or so and put it back in. It didn't work. Any solutions, thanks, David Anderson
  2. That's not the problem. I didn't even see my boot logo. I can't even boot into Windows. I was also unable to access to boot configuration. Like, when I turn it on, the screen is blank. Nothing shows up. Not even the screen's LED

  4. Hi LinusTechTips forum, Earlier today, I reinstalled Windows 10 on my computer. Everything was going fine, I was downloading some drivers and out of nowhere a BSOD popped up. The error named: DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL. It said that usb80236.sys caused it. I really want to know why did this happened. I was having a mouse, a USB drive and the tethering network from my phone plugged in. Any help, thanks! David Anderson
  5. I did reinstall the gpu driver with the installer provided on Lenovo website. As for the ASC, I have tried to delete it but nothing changes, it gets the same error I have Driver Booster though, is that bad?
  6. Hello, I have an old Lenovo G40-70 type 80DX. It is quite laggy, but usable. I can still play a few games on it. One day, my hard drive was damaged and I was unable to use it, I replaced it with a 320GB drive that I have. Inside the hard drive is Windows 7 32-bit. From what I have heard, Microsoft has no longer support this version, so I downloaded Windows 8.1 64-bit instead. After I set everything up, I was ready to play some games on it. I first tested it with ROBLOX because it doesn't have high requirements, it flashed and popped up an error said "Display driver stopped responding and has recovered". I have searched online for this error. I have tried updating my graphics driver, I have tried reinstalling it and I also have tried creating TdrDelay in regedit with the value of 8. Nothing works. Error shown in the attached file (I was testing with krunker.io). Even opening Word 2016 makes it shows up Any ideas, thanks. David Anderson
  7. Hello LinusTechTips forum, My friend has an old Lenovo G40-70 with a damaged battery (he has to charge it all the time). 3 weeks ago, I replaced his hard drive to one of my spare 500GB HDD. 2 weeks after that, he countered an automatic recovery loop issue. He brought it to a small shop nearby. It did work after that, but then Windows stopped booting up. I tried reinstalling, but when I finished installing it, the error occurred again. I tried the second time, I saw the drive with 0 MB. Curious, I tried going into the Boot Utility, it also said [Not Detected]. So I checked one last time with DiskPart, it shows 0 MB on that same drive. Now I am currently stuck in this situation. Should I replace it with another drive or is there a way to fix it? My friend couldn't afford another computer currently so I am trying my best to help him. Any ideas, thanks! [Pictures below]
  8. Hi LinusTechTips forum, So earlier today, I was actually figuring out a way to edit some system environment variables (to be accurate, adding Python to Path) using Command Prompt. So I researched on the Internet how to do it. Heard about setx command and tried it out. At first, I thought about trying on VMware first but I was not thinking about the outcome so I tried it on my system (lol). The command I used is "setx Path "C:\Users\(my username)\AppData\Local\Programs\Python\Python37-32 /m". So I rechecked in the Environment Variables section and I figured out that I changed the whole Path crap. I have tried System Recovery so far but failed on error 0x8007045b, then I tried on WinRE and get error 0x8007007e. It said that it failed to extract the original copy of the directory from the restore point. The source is from %ProgramFiles%\WindowsApps, destination AppStaging or something like that. I want to undo this action immediately. Please help.
  9. Hi LinusTechTips forum, So a few days ago, I looked through my YouTube and saw this weird new "Windows 10 Gaming Edition". I do not know what it is so I googled it and found this: https://rog.asus.com/forum/showthread.php?110662-Windows-10-Pro-vs-Windows-10-Gaming-Edition-ROG-Rampage-v3-2019-Edition-etc Does anyone have any ideas about this weird OS? Is this weird OS original or it is just Windows 10 turning some things off and add a weird theme? Is it really faster in gaming than the original Windows 10? Can we turn the original Windows 10 to this "Gaming Edition" manually? (manually here I mean like change the settings to be the same as the Gaming Edition) Is this a total scam? Sincerely, David Anderson
  10. Thank you, everyone, for their support, but a few minutes ago, I think Microsoft fixed the bug and the error is gone.
  11. Dear LinusTechTips forum, Not too many weeks ago, I did make a topic about this but it seemed like Windows Update did cause this. But if I disable Windows Update in services.msc, my MS Store will not work. I have not found the perfect solution for this because I do not want to disable Windows Update. There is only one update that caused this problem is the KB4505057 - which change something I do not really know. Please help! Sincerely, David Anderson
  12. I kind of get the idea you are getting here, but I just replaced my drive to a Samsung EVO 860 Series 3 months ago, my RAM to an 8GB not long ago and I have rechecked my hardware twice and found no problems. I only did clean install because I was stuck at the boot up section and didn't know what to do. I used Driver Booster to download drivers though, does that affect anything because this only happens if I do Windows Update stuff?
  13. I am able to boot into safe mode because I force-restarted 3 times and it turned on Automatic Repair
