jevjev got a reaction from amdorintel in business in the it industry
i already do that. i buy old computer systems with things such as core i5 2600's in and buy lower end gpus then flip them for a slightly higher price, ism not to fussed with profit margins as i do have a second job but computers are my passion so finding a luttle workshop just to store things and have a place people can go to for repairs or to get a pc built is a dream of mine due to being in foster care and my parents passing away i lack "mainstream knowledge" so am unable to get much more than gcse equivalents in college. which is why i want to prove what im capable of.

I'd agree with you here but if you :
Get a new motherboard, case & power supply.
Beyond that add/upgrade the graphics card .. you would be spending a little much on an old system.

You could also transfer the Dell motherboard into a new case and if it doesn't work out get a new/used motherboard compatible with your CPU.
If it fits, then hey you saved the cost of a motherboard

for a stock cooler its a bit high but capable if i was you i would buy an aftermarket cooler as that will lower the temps significantly and should improve game-play

Make sure the computer turns on. If nothing happens (no lights, no sound, no fans, etc.), the computer has a power related issue.

Make sure all fans are running on the computer. If a fan has failed (especially the heat sink fan for the CPU), your computer could be overheating or detecting the fan failure, causing the computer not to boot.

check that all the cables are securely connected to the computer and that there are no loose cables by firmly pressing in each cable.
All disk drives should have a data cable and power cable connected to them.
Your power supply should have at least one cable going to the motherboard. Many motherboards may also have additional cables connected to them to supply power to the fans.

Re-insert the memory into the same slot.
If you have more than one stick of memory, remove all but one stick of memory and try rotating through each stick
Try one stick of memory in each slot.

reseat the CPU by removing it and re-inserting it into the socket. You could also try applying fresh thermal compound between the CPU and the heat sink

if all of them don't work i don't know but that's all the reasons i know to fix a pc if its not posting unless you have a faulty motherboard/ram/cpu

jevjev got a reaction from jiyeon in can someone explain what a NAS is and what it stands for :)
nas stands for "network attached storage"

basically its like a computer just for storage and anyone on the wifi network can use that to store files at there own accord like linus's server room

While that is a good board, it doesn't make sense to have your motherboard be the most expensive part of your build.
