  1. What if I were to just buy the blade 15 from a reputable retailer like Microsoft, and just buy and return them until I find "the one"
  2. I would definitely do this but in past experience, the WiFi at my university is not very stable, nor does it have good coverage unfortunately I'm not too concerned about thermals, just as long as it remains above stock clock speeds
  3. I was looking at the blade 15 as a possible candidate, anyone have any experience with it?
  4. I understand why this would be a good option, but I am willing to pay the premium to have a thinner, lighter laptop because it will likely be my daily driver for a couple years.
  5. I don't really need great cooling because I only either will be straining the CPU or the gpu at one time but generally not both at once other than light gaming. I was hoping for anything between a 1060 to a 1070
  6. Un fortunately I need an nvidea gpu for the type of work I will be doing
  7. I was looking at this type of a solution but if I did use an external gpu I would also have to constantly carry it around with me constantly because I live about 30 minutes off campus and I was planning to do most of my work plugged in at my universities study hall
  8. My preferred volume would be something around the size of a MacBook pro-ish and by moderate use I mean the CPU would be pinned constantly at probably around 60-70% (hopefully that means something)
  9. I appreciate your help in showing me all these laptops but they all (with their power bricks) seem to just be too large volumewise, as well as most of them (judging by battery size) don't seem to have that 4 hours of moderate use (compiling & training)
  10. Also something I should mention, i intend on keeping this laptop for roughly 3-4 years and it needs to be less than 17 inches just because the dimensions of my bag limit me from using a 17 inch device, and I also need to carry the power cables as well. Also it needs to be an nvidea card because the api I'm using only supports cuda
  11. I really need the battery life just because of my classes being back to back without outlets, and the hour breaks I did have I was going to use to charge it I just had that much saved up after working more or less all summer so I figured that's how much I was going to spend on a laptop. How much do you think I should spend given my needs?
  12. I don't really like having 2 separate systems. I much prefer just one
  13. I was only really planning on upgrading ram and ssd as time goes by, I was thinking that a gtx graphics card would work better as I am doing software engineering but branching off towards artificial intelligence and its a better price to performance, from what I heard, is better with a gtx graphics card over a quadro in aspect to training ai I probably should have mentioned at the top I am doing software engineering and probably branching off to artificial intelligence and you need a good gpu mainly for essentially teaching the ai in which it is much faster to do so on a gpu from what I had heard
