  1. Ok so, recently I learned that CUPS is a giant piece of garbage that barely works 1% of the time. I have 2 Raspberry Pi Zero W's around my house connected by USB to 2 different printers. Is there any alternative print server software to CUPS? Right now they are running Raspbian, and it doesn't seem like I can install Windows 10 IoT on them (unsupported CPU)... Please someone tell me there is a alternative to this piece of crap software that is CUPS... And yes, I've tried every troubleshooting technique possible, its just not gonna work, CUPS is awful..
  2. Hey everyone, I am here once again to get recommendations for a PC part! Since its Cyber Monday I figured this would be a great time to get a new GPU to replace my dying (MSI Gaming X) RX 480 8GB! So, I am looking for a good deal on a GTX 1660 or better, with RGB and dual fans of course! (RX 580/590 cards would also be OK, but only if there is no 1660 variant that matches my description) I would generally like the price point to be closer to $200 or even less (if possible). I would also prefer it to have a DVI port since my main monitor is DVI, however is it not required, if needed, I can just get an adapter. Hopefully someone knows a good deal for a new GPU (with RGB!!), I have not been able to find many deals on a 1660, let alone, an RGB version. Thanks!
  3. Interesting, I dident know that, guess thats why I couldent find any 120GB Samsung Evo or Pro NVME drives
  4. Ok so, currently I have this: https://www.newegg.com/corsair-force-mp300-120gb/p/N82E16820236394?Item=N82E16820236394 which has worked alright for me, until I found out that corsair is basically false advertising this as a NVME drive, as it only has the speeds of a SATA M.2 drive.... Anyways, I found this refurbished 970 evo on Best Buy for only $40, sounds like an amazing deal. But im wondering, is buying a refurbished NVME drive worth it, or will it just cause me more problems in the long run? The 970 evo: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung-geek-squad-certified-refurbished-970-evo-250gb-internal-pci-express-3-0-x4-nvme-ssd-for-laptops-with-v-nand-technology/6315437.p?skuId=6315437
  5. Hi, I'm hoping someone can help me find a very specific NFC tag/sticker. What I need: - Mifare Classic (or compatible with Mifare Classic readers, 13.56MHz) - Sticker - UID/block 0 changeable (chinese "magic tag") - Shipped from the US!! If anyone could help me find this, it would be very much appreciated, I could not find this anywhere on ebay.
  6. Yeah, I actually had a shared hosting plan (paid) with them a few years ago, got the email at about 9 AM (CST) this morning. For some reason they don't note in their blog post that Home Addresses, and Phone Numbers were also leaked, but they mentioned it in the email (notice the comma after "email" in my squared area):

  8. Hi, right now im trying to choose between 2 SSDs that are very similarly priced, and I'm just wondering, is there any real difference between the two? (The SSD I buy will be going into a Thinkpad T420 I got off ebay recently) https://www.microcenter.com/product/511698/bx500-120gb-ssd-micron-3d-nand-sata-iii-6gb-s-25-internal-solid-state-drive https://www.microcenter.com/product/476986/a400-120gb-ssd-tlc-nand-sata-iii-60-gb-s-25-internal-solid-state-drive I'm leaning more towards the crucial SSD, since I've always seen amazing reviews for anything made by crucial.
  9. That fixed it on firefox, thanks so much!
  10. Thanks, I will try some of that. But I actually discovered something pretty odd, when I view the same page on Edge, it looks perfectly fine and the spacing is fixed without any changes to the original code. However on Firefox it has the issues with spacing. I cant really figure out why a page with the exact same code would appear slightly different on different browsers, but oh well..
  11. Ok so I recently got a super cheap AOC E2252s (WDN) 1080p LED monitor from a local store that's going out of business, it works well, except for one thing, the colors and contrast are weird as hell, I tried changing all kinds of settings but nothing 100% 'fixes' it. For example, colors (one example being if something yellow is at the top of the display vs the bottom, the color is slightly different depending on where it is) and contrast will look *very* different if they are at the top of the display vs the bottom, and sometimes white or grey ends up looking slightly green-ish despite my RGB settings being completely balanced all at 50, also the contrast between white/grey at the bottom of the display is much worse than at the top, for example, you wont see the small grey lines on a youtube video page if they are at the bottom of the display (never had this issue before with other displays/laptops). Is this just something I have to get used to with a LED monitor, or is there actually something wrong here? I just think its very odd, as ive never had this issue before with any other displays/laptops (although I don't think I've ever used an LED one either). (Im connecting directly from my GPU to the monitor with a DVI cable, if that's important at all)
  12. Hi, so I am trying to figure out how to fix the spacing between a few HTML inputs/buttons on my site, to see what im talking about you can visit my site at: https://searchly.xyz Basically, the 'search' button is way too close to the dropdown selector, and im trying to make the spacing seem less weird and more equal between the text input box, the dropdown selector and the 'search' button. If anyone knows how to do this, that would be great! I will attach the HTML code for the page below as well. Code has been removed as issue is now solved.
  13. Would this also be a good replacement? https://www.newegg.com/noctua-nf-f12-pwm-case-fan/p/N82E16835608026?Description=noctua fan&cm_re=noctua_fan-_-35-608-026-_-Product
  14. So, I recently got a Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML120L RGB AIO cooler, and the fan that came with the radiator was absolutely horrible (in terms of loudness and sound), it literally sounded like a whale at many times. So, for the time being, I have just replaced that fan with the rear case fan that was included with my case (Masterbox 5 lite RGB). The sound definitely improved using that fan, however I am looking for a RGB replacement, since the included rear fan was infact *not* RGB (kinda odd that they cheaped out on that in a *RGB* case, huh?). Anyways, if anyone could suggest me a good replacement that is RGB (not ARGB), and is also *QUIET*, that would be great.
  15. Hello, so I have a new idea for a project I want to do, I am looking at making a dual opteron 24 core build, which would mainly be used as my new home server, and honestly, just a fun project to see what you can *do* with 24 cores and tons of DDR2 server RAM. My idea here is to have it be near $100 (give or take $50), which I *believe* is possible but I am looking for some advice as to which parts to use, my current part ideas are: CPUs: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Lot-of-2-AMD-Opteron-6174-12-Core-2-20GHz-CPUs-G34-OS6174WKTCEG0-Magny-Cours/173860181848?epid=1838588195&hash=item287adfd758:g:hf8AAOSwo8NcesHI Motherboard: Unknown, please suggest a relatively affordable one that works with the CPUs, has tons of RAM slots and uses DDR2 RAM (preferably around $30-$40 or less if possible) CPU cooler: Really dont want super loud fans, possibly looking at passive cooling (again, please suggest ones that are fairly affordable) RAM: Likely 64GB DDR2 ECC RAM, since its not that expensive PSU: WIll likely reuse one from an old optiplex I have laying around Storage: Will use a 500GB HDD that I already have Please give me any suggestions or parts that would work, thanks so much! Also if there is a different combo of parts that dosent use the same CPUs I listed, thats fine too as long as its 24 cores. Not exactly sure if there is even any socket G34 boards that support DDR2 but let me know. I was looking at something mainly like this:
