  1. I got an old Gigabyte M1022 Laptop, specs listed below, and I am planning to give it to a 6 year old for their online class. He'll mostly use it for Zoom meetings, viewing PDF and MS PowerPoint files, and writing reports in MS Word or Google Docs. Specs: • CPU: Intel Atom N280 • RAM: 1x2GB • GPU: Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 • Storage: 250GB HDD (plan to upgrade to SSD) • OS: Windows 10 32-bit Questions: • Is the laptop good enough or will it not work? • I got some SSDs lying around: a 250GB WD SA510 and a 240GB Crucial BX500, which SSD should I install? I guess the only difference is that the WD has a DRAM cache, while the Crucial don't. Would a DRAM cache make a difference (given the fact that its only SATA2 and the laptop's old)?
  2. A friend wants to backup her iPhone's photos, but she doesn't have a Windows/Mac PC. She just owns an iPhone, and she don't want to subscribe to iCloud or any cloud storage service, so I suggested getting the Lightning to USB adapter and a hard drive or SSD. Questions: • Your thoughts regarding my suggestion. • If a hard drive or SSD is used, what file system should be used? I heard that exFAT is only good for temporary storage (since it has no Journaling feature), while NTFS is read only on Apple devices. APFS, but I don't have a Mac (maybe format it on a virtual machine?). • I also considered suggesting a flash / thumb drive, like the SanDisk iXpand which has a lightning connector built-in, but I heard using a flash drive for backing up data is a bad idea. Any thoughts about this? • Please suggest other ways to backup the photos without using a PC or cloud storage services.
  3. Update: I got a cheap iPhone, and used that for music and navigation for the car. There were mentions in a forum about modules that I can install to add Bluetooth / Android support, but they are not sold in my region (or probably phased out) and it requires opening / disassembling some parts of the car, which I don't want to do.
  4. Thanks for the reply, I got an iPhone 8. I got it at a cheap price, but its really beat up, with all glasses cracked (screen & back glass), but it works!
  5. My budget is USD75/PHP4200 (the cheaper the better), so iPhone 8 and higher might be out of the budget. How's your experince in the iPhone 8, is it bad? I guess I don't mind a few hiccups, as long as its not lagging or hung for a few seconds. As for support, does Spotify frequently up their minimum requirements for their app?
  6. No, just a USB port, and its only for Apple devices.
  7. I am planning to get a secondary phone for watching/playing YouTube and Spotify, since my car's stereo/radio only supports Apple devices. I am considering the iPhone 6s or iPhone 7. I will most likely put YT and Spotify on the phone. I want the phone to be snappy, as long as it does not lag when playing songs I'm good. I also won't be multitasking on it nor play games. Is the iPhone 6s good enough or should I get the iPhone 7? Notes: Spotify's minimum requirements is iOS 14 (link). So iPhone 6 Plus and lower are out of the question. I also considered the iPod Touch 7th Gen, but there are few people selling it and most of them are the same price as an iPhone 6s. The iPhone 7 is about 20% more expensive than the iPhone 6s.
  8. My stylus is the ASUS Pen 2.0 SA203H, which comes bundled with my Vivobook S Flip 14 (TP3402). The stylus' tip/nib snapped, is there a replacement for the tip/nib? 20230612_203335.heic 20230612_203344.heic Is there a way to remove the broken tip/nib? The head for the tip is gone so I can't use the tip/nib remover tool included with the stylus.
  9. I'm a newbie in Linux, so I'm sorry if this is a dumb question. I'm planning to dual boot Pop OS and Windows 11, where Pop OS is in a USB drive, and Windows 11 in the internal SSD, on my Asus Vivobook S 14 Flip (TP3402). If I have a different laptop model is there something I have to set or do differently? Did anyone try doing this and how's the result?
  10. The Honda Accord 2012 stereo / radio only accepts Apple devices (iPod/iPhone) via USB, is there any way to 'translate' Apple to Android or a workaround to use android devices on the radio without any modifications? I'm using Spotify for my music so I can't make the phone run in 'Mass Storage Mode'. Note: I'm okay with connecting a dongle or an adapter to connect to the stereo's USB port, just no mods or disassembling any part of the car. I also borrowed someone's iPhone to test Spotify, and it works on the radio.
  11. My laptop currently has a soldered 8GB RAM and a 8GB SODIMM RAM stick (M471A1K43EB1-CWE). According to Asus, the laptop only supports up to 16GB RAM. Has someone tried installing a 1x32GB RAM stick or installing more than 16GB RAM on the Asus Vivobook S 14 Flip (TP3402)? PS: Crucial says it supports up to 24GB RAM. LaptopMedia says it supports up to 40GB RAM. I'm planning to buy a TEAMGROUP T-Create Classic DDR4 SODIMM 32GB 3200MHz or G.SKILL Ripjaws DDR4 SO-DIMM 3200MHz
  12. Update: Connected a USB-C charger to the laptop and it charges the laptop.
  13. I just purchased the Asus Vivobook S 14 Flip, Intel version, can I use its USB-C port to charge the laptop? What happens if I try to connect a USB-C Charger to a laptop's USB-C port if it does not support USB-C Charging?
  14. My company previously used Excel in our accounting, and now they're planning to switch to SAP or Netsuite, but I would like to continue using both (Excel & SAP or Excel & Netsuite), but I have to enter the data twice, first in Excel and the second time in SAP or Netsuite. Is it possible to enter the data once and automatically copy or sync the data that I had entered on Excel to SAP or Netsuite, or vice versa?
  15. Hi! I started using with DaVinci Resolve a few months ago. My current project is something like a slideshow and displaying the metadata of the photo or video. The project have some photos taken using different cameras and I would like to show which camera and the settings (from the EXIF data) were used, such as the exposure and ISO. Is it possible to automatically let DaVinci Resolve display it or do I have to manually encode it?
  16. The mobile data and 5G works normally, but I want to force my phone to only use 5G. I don't want it to switch to 4G.
  17. I got a Samsung Galaxy A33 5G and a S22 Ultra and I want to force the phones to use 5G only, since my plan includes unlimited internet/mobile data, but only when in 5G. I already searched and found a lot of guides, but none of them worked. I also tried the app Activity Launcher by Adam Szalkowski, but it also does not work.
  18. What happens if you plug two chargers to each other? Are the chargers "idiot proof" or smart enough to turn off when it is plugged to another charger? Especially the USB-C chargers, since they have the same socket/port, like the Apple 20W charger and Samsung 45W charger I'm also curious what happens if it is a USB-A charger, like the Apple 5W charger.
  19. A laptop is BSODing at random times, but all of them are DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL from analyzing the ".dmp" file. I checked CrystalDiskInfo and the hard drive has "Reported Uncorrectable Errors", but CrystalDiskInfo still says the drive is still "Good Health". Is there a correlation or is it something else?
  20. I am selling a hard drive and the buyer is asking me to make a Hard Drive Sentinel report. Is the report from CrystalDiskInfo not enough? CrystalDiskInfo already says that the drive is in "Good" health.
  21. I have some old PCs and I'm planning to sell them. The PCs have HDDs and I ran the following respectively: format g: /fs:NTFS /p:0 diskpart clean all Full format in "diskmgmt.msc", right after initializing the HDD Is this enough to erase or make the data unrecoverable in the hard drive?
