I purchased Splinter Cell on Steam about 2-3 years ago(I think). I have yet to be able to play it using my PS5 controller. I've tried to disable/enable every setting available. I got the camera to move in the game, and the d-pad works. Everything else just doesn't do anything. I personally hate steams software. I can't figure out how to enable screenshots. Can't play some of the games that I've purchased through Steam because of their controller support. They're terrible with refunds(I spent 4 hrs trying to set up keybinds for Elden Ring, and they counted that as over 2hrs of gameplay. They declined a refund...). Edit: I also can't find where to complain about their software support. Every link sends me to the forums. How the hell am I supoosed to get through to them to report their software not working for a game I purchased on their platform!? If anyone knows a fix for the controller, please help!

Well, he didn't bring it by. I'll look up those components tomorrow I guess.

I'll post an update when I find out. But I know the HDD on it is toast or some of the other hardware was failing.

I don't actually know. My brother said that he was gonna bring the computer by later today. It may even have an older video card in it, but I still don't know yet.

Hi. I live in the USA. Spending $USD to make this computer. It's for fast internet surfing and for family use (homework, youtube, facebook....) Ideal budget is < $600. Building it to replace an aging computer tower for my brothers family. It will be a computer tower (I'll probably use the tower and power supply from the old computer -- I believe it's an ATX compatible tower). No peripherals needed, already have a monitor. I value speed and functionality. I would like for this computer to have an ssd (atleast), and to use ddr4 (for faster web page loading?), and to have 5ghz internet. I'm a noob (though my first build was an i9 9900k, 14 cas ddr4, M2, rtx 2060 build (with liquid cooling) ?) (I love this computer ?) Anyways, I would like to hear which processor you think is best. I would go with Ryzen for the pricing, I even initially thought of buying a Ryzen 2700k processor for it, but that might be major overkill. Looking for a cheaper processor/motherboard that can whiz through internet pages and can load applications fast - that could display 4k youtube videos (might upgrade the monitor in the future). thx in advance.

Well, that's why I made this thread. That may just save me a bunch of money..... I gotta see that actually working though - but I'd rather buy a cheaper card now and wait for the next gen cards. Nvidia is on some sht with prices. I really wish someone would punch them in the face. Not literally, but as in "dude, you're overpricing cards and ripping people off. Don't do that anymore." Thanks, though, Himommies. I just got to see a video of a cheaper card pulling those numbers.

Jurrunio, there will be another generation of video cards coming out soon? THP - I know, I shoulda written that on the original post. Just tired..... I'll probably just play World of Warcraft on max settings - but I also want to be able to make videos for bug reports (currently, windows 10's video capture is slow at recording WoW). I would just buy an rtx 2080, but I'm not happy with the results I saw on a youtube video. I don't want to see 50 fps - ever. even though 50 fps isn't bad really, lol. I'm just that type of person.

Well lol, I'm currently using a Samsung Q6FN tv as a monitor, but I plan on buying a 1440p or a 4k 100hz(+) monitor. I only play World of Warcraft, but I want to play WoW on max settings smoothly. Never had that experience, but now I'm working. I have the cash to buy an rtx 2080 ti, but if there will be a better card or a cheaper price, I might wait. I really have no reason to buy a card atm.... just want to play World of Warcraft on max settings. I'm not thrilled with the 2080 results - I saw Orgrimmar only running at 60 fps.

I got everything working except the aio rgb (and maybe the pump!?!?) So updating windows fixed the wifi problem. I updated to the October 2018 build and everything runs smoothly. The usb problem seems to be fixed as well, however on the Asus website it says that the new bios version (17xx,) fixes some issue with the usb ports. I think that the wifi didn't show up because it is dual channel, and so it probably wasn't supported with the older versions of windows 10. Just hoping that the bios flash fixes the pump rgb..... (been running my computer all night with some medium loads so I think that the water pump is working. Still cool air coming out of the fan case tough.) As of right now I haven't updated the bios; I gotta run to best buy to pick up a usb drive...

Well, I got it working. I had to go to the "ez" mode from the bios, and from there set up the boot order and select the windows boot option. Wasn't really able to do that from the boot order page as it would save the boot order, but it wouldn't reboot (in a novice. Idk how to reboot from the main bios page.) Always, now that I've installed windows 10 (was purchased from Microsoft, not a copy of an updated version of windows,) now it doesn't recognize the wi-fi adapter. Might be because dual channel wi-fi wasn't a thing back when windows 10 was released??? So now I gotta move my tv & my computer to another room where I can use ethernet. I'm hoping that the wi-fi adapter will show up. Might even need to update the bios. Also, I had to install the usb w10 and the keyboard on separate usb hubs (one on the case usb ports and one on the mb usb ports.) Hopefully that's not a problem after the updates, but it's possible that I got something wrong during the build.
