  1. Hello! I was finally able to deduce the great secret. It was turning off Intel Rapid Storage, and then rebooting, and then I could install windows from there. Thanks for all of your help!
  2. None of the drivers seemed to change anything. Went through them one by one.
  3. Yeah, I am going through several of these drivers but I do not see the drive showing up, much less why it was in RAID
  4. I never set up raid, or had any intention to. I don't see any setting that it is active on.
  5. I don't see much difference, sadly. Unless I did it wrong.
  6. I have an issue where I cannot see my m.2 anywhere but this screen in the bios. Can't load windows, and it doesn't appear anywhere else. This is the second slot and second chip I have tried this with. I didn't set it to anything this is just how it appears when I start it up. Thanks for the help.
  7. Thank you for the list. I do know it is a lot, I have the opportunity to build a lot, and am taking advantage of it to do the most that I can for a long term build. Thank you for the extremely detailed answer, and the lists. I also agree with you final statement. It is not my first build, but besides a case swap two years ago, I have not built a new PC since my current 6700k was brand new. I really appreciate the insights, I do consider myself tech literate but I have learned that for myself it has made me very blind, while I can find things for others I get REALLY choice locked. All of your advice is very detailed and I really REALLY appreciate the detail and effort. Thank you for the list, it if a great way for me to look at another build and put together where I can go next.
  8. Budget (including currency): 7000 dollars Country: United States Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: AAA Games (some 4k Gaming hopefully), VR, and some Video Editing software (working on which) Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hello I am looking to do a full build, and have a pretty large budget. I may also build a NAS if there is enough left over. Overall this is a big opportunity for me to do things that I really want to do. I overall do not have a preference between AMD or Intel Platforms right now. I am not looking to go super bleeding edge but would like to do some top of the line parts. Big questions right now: Overall CPU Recommendations with a Large I/O Motherboard, and able to have at least a few expansion cards. I really don't care which I get overall, I just really want some ideas to bounce around and compare. I get a bit overwhelmed when I look at all the data out there, so some narrowing down would really help. I want a high end Nvidia GPU either a 3080, a 3080 ti or a 3090. Recommendations of brand, specifics would be appreciated. I am considering doing an open loop cooling system, but I have never done one before and wanted to know if it is really worth it over an all in one, and if so is there anything specific I should look out for? is the Corsair kits good? I am doing at least 64 GB of ram, preferably DDR5 but I don't know if adopting that is the best choice. I have been trying to find a good Full Tower or Super Tower case but they really seem to have died out overall. I have issues working in smaller cases and like the larger ones. Also, are there any really good monitors out there for 4k gaming? if not a generally good gaming monitor and a good 4k monitor for viewing that look reasonably similar would be a big help as well. I really appreciate any help I can get narrowing this down because I have been having option freeze for a moment now. Also any recommendations for uncommon additions to a system, or to a build would be great. I'd love to do something a bit unexpected.
  9. Hello! I recently found out (just today in fact) that my cats have stolen and chewed up my travel earbuds. I am looking to replace them, because I am traveling this Saturday. I have been looking around, and have not found a conclusive set to get. So I wanted to ask for some advice. I am using a Note 20 Ultra for my phone. I am looking to spend about a hundred to a hundred and fifty at most. Prefer less. I am looking for at least eight house of life if wireless per charge. I am also looking to get good noise canceling as well. If there is anything else I can add I would appreciate some advice.
  10. Thanks, I'll try looking into those. I was planning to have it delivered since I am a 'elevated risk' for dealing with people, but we'll see if I can get someone I know go for me.
  11. Budget (including currency): 150-250 ideally Country: United States Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Hey everyone, hope this is the right place for this, but I am looking for a new desk. I am currently using an L-Desk, but am looking for a straight desk, and one with a monitor arm mounting hole (or one that can be used for such mounting.) My current desk split were I drilled a hole for the mount and to to its size and weight it isn't secure with a lip mount. I really would love something that has some outlets or such, and if something like that is a bit above the budget I would be willing to use it. My mount is for triple monitors. I don't mind anything else, multi-tiers, legs, etc. Just that it is long enough for such a set up, and had a mount would be the best. I worry about redrilling in another desk, since this one is splitting on me.
  12. Well, I wouldn't do that if i wasn't going take a request seriously. But let me be clear, I wanted recommendations and the reason I originally didn't set a budget is I didn't want to constrain myself because in reality I don't know what the quality is, to cost ratio. I would like to spend around what the Arctis Pros cost me which is 250, but that is a flexible number. I enjoyed having external control of my sound beyond the computer, the GameDac that came with my headset was amazing. I am not sure what I would rate the Artcus Pro for Closed/Open. They are definitely closed, but they vented heat really well too. I almost never suffered from them if not for the fragility of the unit I would just turn around and buy another. Its not that I haven't done "research" at all, I just tend to use word of mouth sources a lot. My friend called the open and closed thing something different, but I got the jist of it. Important things: Some level of noise blocking. (Doesnt have to be noise cancelling, but if I can hear outside the headset clearly it's a no go for me) Some level of external sound control. If this is a DAC or an Amp I don't mind, as long as I can hook it up to my pc. (I had a more professional device from a long while back that required a different connection than my pc could use.) Around that price I mentioned above 200 bucks, but I am flexible and willing to go much higher if something is really amazing. I would be a hard sell if I need to go really far above that, but i would love to learn about those quality things too from the community. If it is for gaming, that is a plus. I have no opinion on the microphone. They are nice if I am away from my main set up. But I have an external mic too. So it's basically don't let that color your opinion. Hopefully that is a better clarification. Edit: I have read that my current DAC can work with other headsets, so I am going to try that, so I do already have one of those.
  13. I am not really going to limit myself too much. So, just like...not studio grade 1000 dollar stuff, but you know, something good. I don't *need* a microphone, but its not a deal breaker by any means. I don't know what the back means though.
  14. Hey everyone, I am looking to replace my Steel Series Arctis Pro Headset + Gamdac. I loved the headset, but I haven't even owned it two years and it is beginning to give out on me. The main things I liked about it was sound control, and the ear muffs and the lack of intense pressure on my head (I had a Fenix Aria set before them that caused me headaches from pressure and I didn't like the muffs much) I am not too knowledgeable of the audio scene, but I use my headset mostly for high quality sound while gaming (footsteps etc), and listening for music. Thanks for your help!
  15. Oh, awesome. I will definitely take that into account when I am shopping then. Thank you!
