  1. Awesome! Does the tool have an arrow or something that matches up with the arrow found on the CPU? Couldn't tell from the pictures. The rockit 88 does have that arrow so you can align CPU properly, guessing this tool no matter how you align it its okay as long as you make sure the tool is focusing the IHS and not the PCB?
  2. About to delid my 8700k using this tool: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078SKRB8C/ref=cm_sw_r_tw_dp_U_x_791WEbD6R1B12 Anything I should know or do before attempting to delid with this tool? Saw a few videos on youtube and the guys kept turning for a good few minutes. I plan to have the vice hold the kit and so I only have to hold the hex key. The description says to heat the CPU so glue doesn't stick. Any other tips from anyone who delided using this tool, especially using an 8700k?
  3. Thank you for that I will def take the Amazon route!
  4. Any personal brands or just go for some cheap and high rated strips off eBay/Amazon?
  5. Any recommendations? Browsing around some people mentioned the Phillips Hue strips, Amazon led strips, and even strips from Alibaba. I am confused on what to go for? I want some bright LEDs that can last a long time, not cheap ones where they fall off or stop working after some time, any personal recommendations you guys recommend?
  6. Yep I tried it on 2 other Pcs in the same house and all have same problem, I am almost positive its an issue on the game's side but just in case my house has bad power outlets or something that's why I want to gather a sample size and compare. Tried google search and it was of no help sadly.
  7. Would mean the world to me if you launch Fortnite and go to the loading screen or lobby (Reference: https://prnt.sc/lbys97)and then run msi afterburner with riva turner statistics and run a frametime and also a framerate on the same graph similar to this: https://prnt.sc/lbytptI want to see if this game has these microstutters for everyone or is it only me.
  8. Actually great suggestions, haven't tried many of these, had some questions on some though. - Not sure how to check my power delivery is not throttling I can send you graphs of say power% in afterburner or would that not show us what were looking for? - Again not sure how to see if electricity from psu and wall are consistent - I could prob take my PC to a friends house and test there.
  9. You probably hit it on the spot, the problem is always there whether I have fast ram or slower ram, obviously faster ram seems to heal the problem by lowering the spikes from 30 something MS to sub 20 MS however its not curing the problem. I said that games like AC Origins don't have this, well guess I was wrong heres a frametime graph of Origins if you don't mind seeing: https://prnt.sc/lbnyoh I had an FPS cap of 60 on that game with freaking gsync enabled and yet every time my FPS hits 61,59,58 my frametime spikes to the 40s... I don't know what to do anymore, this is driving me nuts, any suggestions I am open.
  10. Okay so quick backstory: For the last 2 months of my life this issue of microstutter has been consuming me. Dumped a ton of money on my rig only for it to microstutter every few seconds. This issue happens in all games that heavily depend on the CPU such as Fortnite,LOL, and CSGO. While the issue does not happen in games that depend on the GPU such as AC:Origins, farcry, tombraider etc... So that right there is what is really confusing. Naturally I thought my CPU was the issue so I went ahead and replaced my 4690k with a 4790k (shittest and most useless upgrade of my life) and the issue stayed so this made me conclude that the issue was not on my CPU's fault. So then I went through crazy amount of time diagnosing issues left and right and hell I even made a list of the stuff I have already tried and that did not work: Went back to older Windows 10, 2016 LTSB 1607 version turned off all 3rd applications and only kept monitoring program and game up * did the whole windows 10 memory standby clearing (I really thought this was going to fix it) but sadly even when I clear memory standby and memory cache resets, the problem is still there so I doubt its a windows 10 issue * * * disabled full screen optimizations * turned gsync off/on * tried uncap vs cap fps * fullscreen vs windowed * Hell I even started using vsync with the input delay and still no help. * used ULMB mode, fast sync everything... * Thought it was my monitor with its Gamemode and turned that off and nothing * Turned off xbox game DVR * played around with different refresh rate 120,144, overclocked to 165 hz and nothing worked. * Turned windows into high performance and same issue. Tried on another PC in the same house and same issue Overclocked and stock speed my CPU and cache So when I tried on another PC this made me think that hey the issue is probably not my hardware and its either power or internet because that's the only 2 things my 2 Pcs share. Its not the internet because when I unplugged the ethernet cable the microstutters were still there so then it must be power right? Nope I used my laptop and its not plugged to a power socket and same issue. So the fault has to be on these games and not me or am I crazy? I guess most people don't complain about microstutters and frametimes is because they don't spot it and so even though this issue is happening to everyone who plays on the CPU bound games, most don't even notice the stutter to even report it. So I had a lot of freetime and decided to play around with my ram speeds and this was shocking, heres a frametime graph of around 10 mins for each graph while running Fortnite: 800 MHz ram speed: https://prnt.sc/lbladi 1600 (XMP) mhz ram speed: https://prnt.sc/lbl9z6 1800 mhz ram speed: https://prnt.sc/lblaab So at speeds of 800 mhz the frametime spikes were at around 26-30 MS and at speeds of 1600-1800 they ranged from 16-20 MS, so i can't believe i am saying this because how the fuck could ram speed cause this but is it possible that the higher the ram speed is the less and less you will notice stutters? FOR CPU BOUND GAMES ONLY Again at ultra settings triple A graphics games i was not seeing this issue, but when i played these multiplayer games i started seeing it, idk it has to do with texture filtering or assets loading or something along those lines. But yea what are your guys's thoughts on this? Should i even bother buying 3000 MHz ddr4 ram compared to my 1600 ddr3 ram or is this a more serious issue and i should do more tests? if i should do more tests then please link em below. Thanks! Also any forums or subs suggestions to ask about this issue? I could just simply copy paste my issue so more people could see it and hopefully we can find a solution to this shit. My rig: http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/11419803 Monitor: XB271HU 1440p 144z g-sync monitor GPU: 980 ti hybrid Firestrike score: https://www.3dmark.com/3dm/29420322 CPU: 4790k@4.5 GHz ram: Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 C9 4x4GB
  11. Nah I always had Malware bytes running and it consistently runs scans and no malware/virus. Don't rlly know how to check for input lag, is their some sort of program?
  12. 1. Yea 4790k new is still $350 sadly, used are usually for less than $250 so I might look into those 2. Enabled/disabled hardware did not matter, same issue 3. When I was in game I was using about 9-10 gigs of ram out of the 16 I have, so no its not hitting the limit, only using about 60% of my RAM while my CPU is being used 100% for Fortnite, which is expect since its a CPU heavy game Wish to point back to the temperatures you asked for above, do note that even prior to overclocking this CPU and adding any voltage, my temps were normal yet I still experienced these same issues. The microstutter isn't something big like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-2znsbpk-2Q But its more so towards just the game feels sluggish and does not look or even feel smooth for that matter. Like when my little bro was playing on his PS4, I noticed Fortnite was running buttery smooth with only 60 FPS, here I am pushing 160+ yet my game doesn't look/feel as smooth, really have no clue how to achieve this "smooth" look. I even own a Gsync monitor and with gsync enabled and my frames under my monitor refresh rate I still cannot achieve this effect.
  13. 1. Would 4790k be enough to stream (its the best thing for my socket) 2. Hardware accelration is disabled 3. When gaming I was hitting mid 70s to mid 80s and the max temp hit was 90 celcius. Do note that an overclocked of 43 x was applied here.
  14. So i don't know what is going on with my PC, ever since I bought it off my friend (2 years ago) I always had some problems with it. Here is my rig: http://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/9601962 But basically the problems I am having is that even though my PC is in good shape according to many benchmarks I still notice problems with it. First problem is that I simply cannot stream from this PC, every time I stream my game starts getting choppy, my FPS drops and its impossible. Second, I cannot even watch a YouTube video on my 2nd monitor while gaming because I get the same problems I mentioned. Third, in games like Fortnite and CSGO I get little microstutters,FPS drops, and just general choppy gameplay and its driving me nuts. I push 250+ fps on those games yet I get these little stupid stutters/lags. I worked out the nvidia settings, reinstalled my windows, did a hard back up, moved games to HDD and SSD, lowered graphical settings, yet I always had this issue. At this point I am willing to throw out the whole PC and just buy me a new one from scractch because I cannot pin point the problem. The benchmarks are giving me good reads and not telling me if its a hardware problem and the software games are giving me the FPS my PC is capable of so i don't know, if someone here could work out these issues with me little by little, so we can pinpoint the issue, that would be awesome!
