  3. Hey Guys, Looking for a new Laptop for work and play. will be working remotly in and out of Europe. And rather than build another gameing PC I am looking at options for a gameing laptop that can do double duty. At home it will be connected to a larger monitor but while working out of co working spaces or hotels it will be stand alone. I am in the US so I can get a device at a lower cost but I want something with warranty service in Europe particularly Belgium. Fimilar with the Dell support but i dont know how Razor, Acer and others will handle a laptop bought in the US but used in Europe. I am looking at a Laptop with RTX 3070 or equivilant AMD GPU.

  5. Good Day All, I have been experimenting with nic teaming on my new Server 2019 STD Hyper V install. I have VMS in VMware hosts but I want to migrate them to Hyper V. I have migrated some VM's to the new host but when I started them up not all can connect to the network. they can ping internal between themselves but access outside. I used this is a reference: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/networking/technologies/nic-teaming/nic-teaming-settings my team is configured as in attachment. The ports are connected to 2 Cisco 3850's that are stacked. All ports are on the same VM. 4 VM's that are on the Host are working fine, but when i start the 5th I don't get any network connectivity external to the Virtual switch. If i shut down the Hosts and restart no mater what i do i only get 4 hosts working. i tried switching to load balancing mode: dynamic. but no VM's can connect other than the 1st VM I turn on. Should i move to a switch dependent mode? Any guidance will be appreciated.
  6. i didn't want to over complicate my infrastructure. its just 20 of us. but yes that is an option. let me look at the current config and get some more info.
  7. its ether channel switch over copper. and its currently full.
  8. one of my major considerations is support costs for vmware, and minor consideration is i use Azure for Site recovery and its a bit more complex with VMware vs Hyper V. i dont currently have HA Vmware licenses.
  9. I was actually weighing moving to Hyper V, but that is another conversation.
  10. Hey guys! so i want to advise on how to move forward with my company's virtualized infrastructure. currently we have 3 hosts that connect to a SAN for VM storage ( about 5 TB in Raid 5) all hardware is over 7years old and we are using VMware for virtualization. I am at max capacity wrt RAM and storage. CPU usage is minimal. and the SAN is at capacity for adding HD's. So i need to upgrade my infrastructure at this time. of course $$$$ is a limitation but i can get it done in a phased approach. Honestly i have minimal experience with SAN's so my 1st thought is to get new hosts, 1 this FY and 1 next FY use DAS for VM storage and use the SAN as redundant storage. what do you guys think?
  11. Hey guys, So i have an msi b250 pc mate board and i k ow it does not support raid so thats not an option. I have 2 nvme drives that i want to boot off and also aggregate into 1 drive. I tried installing win 10 on the drives after i set as dynamic drives but i realised i does not install on dynamic disks. So i tied turning to the drive basic... Installing windows then converting to dynamic then merge partitions. Did not work. Any ides to get me one large disk without raid. Thanks!
