  1. Hi, looking for assistance in forcing laptop to "remember" to output to External Monitor upon boot, with no internal display connected. Laptop AORUS X7 DT V7 GTX 1070 Intel i7-7820HK Display Outputs: HDMI 2.0, Mini DisplayPort 1.3, Thunderbolt 3 Internal Display: 1440p / 144hz, 40-pin LVDS Ribbon cable. Internal Display is broken. I'm trying to have the laptop to boot and output display to an External Monitor only. With the internal display disconnected, the laptop will not display output to External Monitor. When the internal display IS connected, only then can the laptop output display to the External Monitor. Once into Win10, I can set display output to "Second Screen Only" and then disconnected the internal display. But if the laptop is turned off, the internal display has to be connected before turning on. Only then in Win10 can I change the output back to "Second Screen Only". Things I've tried that don't work: In Win10, Notification Tray >> Project, selecting "Second Screen Only". Upon boot, it seems like this isn't remembered with internal display disconnected. Used different cables: HDMI-to-HDMI, DisplayPort-to-MiniDP, HDMI-to-Thunderbolt. None work when connected to External Monitor only; Internal Display still must be connected before boot. Used a different monitor. Check BIOS to find display settings. Settings doesn't exist. Disabled/Uninstalled internal display drivers Can I enter BIOS with only External Monitor connected? Yes, I can enter the BIOS. But when booting Win10, laptop will not output display to External Monitor if Internal Display is not connected. Repair the Internal Display/Ribbon Cable instead? This is a Frankenstein project. I want to say Windows 10 is the problem here because laptop can boot into BIOS and output to External Display. It is only upon booting into Windows 10 that the External Display sleeps, thus laptop is attempting to find its internal display if not connected. Thanks, and any help is appreciated.
  2. To add, the monitor can display a picture if it is moved; not as if I were to open or close the laptop but rather "twisting" the display left and right. The laptop can function normally and my last resort would be to connect it to an external PC monitor.
  3. I have a Aorus X7 DT V7 laptop that came with a 4k 60hz IPS panel. The monitor has become faulty, glitching out at random. I opened the laptop to gain access to the flex cable from the motherboard to the panel. I want to say the panel is the issue, but in the event that the panel and the cable are the issue I'd like to buy a new flex cable. However, I can't seem to google where to buy the exact cable. Below are pics of the cable and the monitor issue. Pic 1 shows the connection behind the monitor. Pic 2 shows the connection onto the motherboard. The model of the panel is AUO 139B. Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
  4. Are you on Borderless Windowed Mode? Try booting up that Corsair program, log into FFXIV, change mouse game profile, and Alt+Tab a bunch in and out of FFXIV. For some reason FFXIV doesn't play well with current PC peripherals. My Logitech G602 recognizes FFXIV about half the time after logging in. Usually Alt+Tabbing forces FFXIV to sync with the Logitech program. Also, FFXIV doesn't like my Logitech G710 as it turns off all the backlights. Every other game works perfectly except FF.
  5. I would wait for whatever Nintendo announces this year but still buy the OG Switch. It'll most likely have its price shaved off if a new version releases. Knowing past Nintendo console releases, you can do this two ways: 1) If it's an updated, better Switch is released, OG Switch will be cheaper (via slashed price or cheaper relative to the new version). 2) If it's a budget Switch ala 2DS, OG Switch will be better assuming it has better graphics/functionality than a budget Switch.
  6. Could you wrap your ethernet cable with heavy duty foil as a test?
  7. Can never have enough flash drives. Buy a bunch of Kingston flash drives. Sadly none of them are dank "1TB w/ Linus" etching.
  8. Laptop 1: Firefox: 3. Chrome: 5 Laptop 2: Firefox: 5 Chrome 12 Phone 1: Safari: 18 Send help.
  9. Had to plug in VGA directly into the mobo and reset CMOS. Thanks.
  10. If I remove the GPU, I have no other VGA/DVI port to plug into the monitor. Edit: Sorry, I wasn't looking close enough. I have another VGA port. Will try that.
  11. Monitor shows nothing; even with the PC turned on the monitor doesn't receive a signal. I can't check the BIOS screen.
  12. I have a very old desktop (Gateway DX4710-UB002A) that POSTs but does not display anything onto the monitor. I have a fan spin and hear the beep that indicates that Windows is booting up. These are the things I've done to try and remedy it, all to no avail: Tried different monitor Tried different cable - VGA Tried different cable - DVI Reseating CPU Reseating GPU Reseating RAM I'm thinking that my outdated GPU may be the problem. My questions are: Would a new GPU fix the problem? And if so, should I go on ebay and buy another ATI Radeon HD 3650, or should I buy an "upgrade" GPU? What more recent-yet-still-outdated GPU should I get?
  13. I'm still using an iPhone 6S 128GB as my daily phone. It's about 2 years old and still on iOS10, but I know it can use iOS11-12 no problem. Of course like all phones the phone's battery is showing its age, down from 100% to 50% midday. If you can navigate iOS pretty well, enjoy it. It's the last iPhone with a headphone jack (Prove me wrong, Apple).
  14. AORUS X7 DT v7 is my personal laptop for gaming and photo editing. 8/10 would recommend. Recommend because it's a powerhouse with a GTX1070. Has Thunderbolt. Great upgradability. Won't recommend because my "T" key works 50% of the time and I noticed it a half a year of having it because I was using a mechanical keyboard since Day 1. Also, fans are loud.
