Or Even just a world map with pins for us to put in to let you know how far we come for the event?
-
I disagree still...........if you aren't going extreme, an AIO or good Tower cooler are comparable performance wise, but a Tower cooler is cheaper so........
-
thanks for the replies guys, it seems that its just aesthetics -which are completely subjective - I think AIO's are ugly, but I do definitely admit that the sexy tower coolers, do hide all the pretty of RAM and Mobo, so a trade off....... other reasons I thought of for pro AIO * ease of install - water cooling for a rookie builder. * status symbol - being able to say you have a water cooled system, without the headaches of custom loop. * tech reviewers like linus are often using aio's in their test benches, and also features like the lan-center.
-
yeah, but that dual 360mm rad system is now also cooling a 2080Ti whereas the Dark Rock was obviously just doing CPU, but that tower is a 250W TDP cooler, its stupidly good, and absolutely silent........check out Jayz recent review of the Dark Rock........
-
what average user pushes their hardware to those extremes?
-
you're right, a 280/360mm AIO does perform extremely similar- but you pay more for that performance....... but I can accept the blocking the view of mobo, and ram, thats a good point. I'll add your points to the "Aesthetics on a budget tally"

So essentially, its - want the aesthetic of a custom loop, but on a budget?
-
I've been noticing a trend of home PC builders to use AIO coolers over Air Cooling. I've come to the conclusion that (imho) AIO's are stupid. (emotive language for extra effect?) As far as Aesthetic's go, they're no prettier than most tower coolers (what with there gangly tubing that rarely sits anywhere nice and clean looking etc.) , and their cooling capacity/$ is worse (gross generalisation yes...), longevity is worse too as all AIO's unfortunately have a half life........ I'm not comparing to custom loops, as custom loops are expensive, require maintenance, but they have a definite aesthetic advantage, so depending on how much you care about a sweet looking PC......you get my point...... The only reason I can come up with, is that with all the good Tower coolers (Noctua DH15, Dark Rock Pro4 etc.) clearance of RAM modules can be problematic, and extensive research required to ensure you can fit it all in, and of course the case too.......but, is this the only reason a lot of people choose AIO coolers over tower coolers? Just avoiding an hours worth of internet googling? I'm really interested to hear why you prefer AIO to Tower cooling? or your take on this whole topic. For reference - I have just finished building a custom loop(running a EK SE 360mm Rad and an EK XE 360mm Rad) -because sweet looking PC bro - after having a fully air cooled system with a Dark Rock Pro 4 Tower cooler, and being able to compare like to like, The custom loop, does not perform any better than the dark rock pro 4

Ipv4 and ipv6 explained, and also WHY THE HECK I can't use my wireless MFD with my mac to Scan, can use it to Print, but not scan. My research show its to do with ipv4 vs ipv 6 stuffs........ -
also, the seller is open and willing to do some custom stuff, simply contact him with ideas, he is really open to advise. (prior to today he was unaware about the header option and only offered it in controller + molex connectors)
-
Yeah, that was essentially my logic also, just stating a minor disclaimer ;-)
-
Guys, I found this on ebay. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/153116943295?ul_noapp=true RGB GPU support brackets, I contacted the seller, and you can address it to 4-pin headers, ( he has only tested it with a MSI board), but they're cheap and look pretty good IMO. just a heads up for anyone that wants to have a stylish and cheap GPU bracket if you suffer sag. this is an Australian seller so....... Peace 74. *Edit* Image added for the ADHD types out there (myself included - oooh something shiney :D)

good questions, I haven't really thought too much about content creation, but I'd like to have the ability in the future. As for the change from Mac to PC, I currently console game, I want to make switch to PC gaming, and I'm a little tired of mac.......I get it, kind of arbitrary reasons. I'm not anti-mac, I still run an iphone X, apple watch, macbook air for university.

Xbox 1 S and Acer Predator X34 (1st model) 1440p?
GingerSoulThief replied to GingerSoulThief's topic in Console Gaming
That could be the issue, I believe HDMI 1.4 was on the first model, but HDMI 2.0 was on the second........ I was selecting 1440p at 60Hz -
Xbox 1 S and Acer Predator X34 (1st model) 1440p?
GingerSoulThief replied to GingerSoulThief's topic in Console Gaming
it wasn't the G-sync I was trying to get working, my bad, I should've said its the 1440p that I wanted displayed. -
fun video to watch, iJustine obviously won as she is somewhat familiar with both products. to get a true indication of functionality, both "competitors" need to be unfamiliar with both systems, and ask them to perform basic functions. I'd watch anyone from LMG grandparents etc. that haven't touched a computer compete! BTW, I'm a mac user at home, and windows at work (before I retired), now I am at university as a mature aged student, and only own mac devices, and find myself having to submit MS Office/oneDrive documents etc. now I'm looking into building a PC for home - but thats mostly to switch from console gaming to PC.......
-
here's a question, that I don't seem to able to google and find an answer (or atleast one that satisfies my brain). how do I make it work? I can select it in my display options of the xbox, but then it black screens and returns to 1080p. what in gods name am I doing wrong? HDMI connection to X34 (DP is taken up by my PC)
-
All fair reasons to still go for the 1080ti, I was just shocked to see comparable prices
-
so while perusing GPU's for an upcoming build, (mostly gaming for pubg, and mild content creation) I had decided on the 1080ti. But then I noticed a Titan XP (founders) for the same price as these 1080ti's (which I was budgeting to get closer to (AUD)$1000 than $1200+). now, for the negligible difference in gaming benchmarks between the two, and cost being the same....... which would you choose?
-
Okay, so this will only be my second build (Did my first build, AMD gaming system around 2010), I want it for playing PUBG, a lot of university study purposes, and potential pubg video content creation if I can transfer my xbox skill (lulz). Budget is fairly flexible, but need it all to be sensible. I'm looking at $3500 - $4000 AUD already have an Acer Predator X34 monitor, and want to make use of its abilities. G-Sync etc. things I'm very firm on - GTX 1080Ti atleast 240mm CPU AIO - (pretty warm ambient temps during summer) mATX/ITX form factor, - I want a small footprint, and also want the system to be at least a little "flashy" peripherals are negligible however, I do want mech KG with number pad, and mouse needs to be wired AND wireless ( like the SPATHA style) https://au.pcpartpicker.com/list/fBsQRJ check out the build on part picker and throw me some advice/critique.
