  1. Would the cheapest really be the best way to go? Is there no value in a better cooler design or a card that's OC'd right out of the box?
  2. Ok great! It's a relief that I don't have to upgrade my whole PC lol.
  3. @PCNoobie I play a few different games. Diablo 3, No man's sky, Fallout 4, Tomb raider, Arma3, WoW, FFXI to name a few. @-rascal- Ok great! I figured the CPU wouldn't be too bad currently. I run an h100i cooler on it. I do want to upgrade my storage though.
  4. Hey everyone. It's been a while since I've posted but since certain games are slowly outpacing my PC specs I figured it was time to look into upgrading a few parts. Here is my current specs and I'm looking to start off by upgrading my graphics card. I game on a 1440p monitor with a 1080p as a secondary monitor. I do very light video editing as well. I don't particularly care about having the absolute best frame rates but I want to game in full 1440p @ 60fps or better. Would it be worth the investment to upgrade to a GTX 1070/1080 and when I had the disposable income, look into upgrading the rest of my PC or should I start somewhere else? If so, can you recommend a particular brand/model? Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
  5. MSI z87-gd65 mobo, latest bios and i did a prime95 for a few hours when i first built it. The only other stress test I've done is the one I did after I read your guide.
  6. Hey everyone. I've tried pretty much everything I can think of but my pc just won't stop crashing at 4.4ghz no matter how much I give it. I bought this setup specifically to overclock but it seems I might have a below average chip. My specs are: i5 4670k 8gb corsair xms3 Z87-GD65 gaming AX 850w PSU GTX 770 samsung 840 pro 250gb ssd h100i cooler So far I've tried all the way up to 1.35 vcore and 1.9 vccin with ram at 1.5v @1333mhz. Can't get to login screen. Went down to 4.3ghz @ 1.27vcore, 1.9 vccin and ram 1.5v @1333mhz and I've been stress testing with IETU for 9 hours. Temps were max of 61c. I know I have thermal headroom but I don't understand why I can't get 4.4ghz to even get into windows. I'm not sure if upping the vcore is even a good idea just to reach 4.4ghz. Anyone have any thoughts or ideas? I'm at a loss and it's really frustrating.
