  1. I went with that power supply in case I decide to OC anything or add more RGB.
  2. I probably won't go that far but I will add liquid cooling down the line.
  3. I just checked and I had the wrong cpu selected. I added the 8700k... Does it look good now?
  4. Do I not have the 8700k in the list? I thought you could overclock the 8700k?
  5. Hello All! I made a post last week about building a computer. I have learned a lot since then. The last time I built a computer was 6+ years ago and I just had the guy at MicroCenter pick out the parts... My current cpu is a 2700k =( I figured I would make a new detailed post on what I plan to do and why. If you see anything wrong or if something would be better, please let me know. I plan to use this computer for 4k and 5k video editing in Adobe After Effects and Adobe Premiere. The videos will sometimes be in the RAW format which means ~60 seconds of record time = 100gb of data. I currently do NOT own a RED Cinema Camera but I want this computer to edit those files. I also will want to use the computer for gaming and VR "HTC vive". I would like to Play ARMA, PUBG, Star Citizen and new titles on MAX settings at 4k. It is my understanding that Adobe does NOT handle mutli-cores well. That is why I'm going with the Intel 8700k. The 8700k also has a built-in graphics card which Adobe can use! It is my understanding that with my current 2 980s that would give me three GPUs worth of rendering, correct? (SIDE NOTE: Any word on a 8700k replacement?) To cut down on cost I'm going to use my two GTX 980s in SLI until the 1180s are released. I am also wanting to use my Vengeance C70 computer case to cut down on cost. PC Part Picker says they won't work with my cooler? Final Notes: I work a convention every year where we use my desktop as a streaming computer. I have three capture cards installed and we use OBS & WireCast to stream. The capture cards that I use are the https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/964122-REG/blackmagic_design_decklink_mini_recorder.html and they should fit. I also want to add thunderbolt and more USB 3.1s to use my peripherals, will they fit? EDIT: One last thing... I want to Overclock to get better rendering times and why not? Here is my build: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/P4rBr6 Thanks! and I hope to buy asap.
  6. The guy at MicroCenter said faster ram has a slower latency? How does that work?
  7. Sorry, I will take a look! What about RAM speed? Is it worth it getting the fastest? I have tried looking to see if Adobe can handle it well.
  8. I'm also thinking about going with the ASUS MAXIMUS IX CODE. I have two 980s right now that I will use until the next pay cycle. I will then upgrade to a 1180...
  9. I just found out about that channel. Thanks! I'm thinking of going 8700k and overclocking it.
  10. Just throwing this out there... Is AMD better? Just keeping my options open.
