M3talGod2 got a reaction from BiG StroOnZ in Project "Dalamud"
Big? Upgrades
Here’s what I’ve gotten since the first post
NZXT Fans/Strip/Hub
Red/Black Cable Extensions
Silverstone 650w SFX Power Supply
Corsair H100i V2 AIO- ending up getting this from someone on r/hardwareswap for $65
LG 32GK650F-B 1440p 144hz Monitor
Everything put in
Pic of the monitor
That’s pretty much it for the more hardware-ish upgrades. Going to start moving onto more aesthetic (spray paint, vinyl, etc.) stuff here soon, so be on the lookout.

Hello everyone! This is my first actual build log, so please excuse any mistakes. I'm here to show off my new build/start a new project.
So you may be wondering "What does 'Dalamud' mean?", it is in reference to this. It's a "moon" that was in the game FFXIV. Towards the end of the 1.0 era of the game, Dalamud was crashing down onto the in- game world, but some plot stuff happened, and Bahamut, the legendary FF franchise summon, pops out of it and destroyed the world (literally, a cutscene played and the servers went down) and the game was reborn around a year later as FFXIV: A Realm Reborn.
As you will see I went with a red aesthetic (as Dalamud was red), and will eventually be adding more in the way of FFXIV themed things as I go along with this build.
So let's get into the actual build log.
This was my previous build.
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600
CPU Cooler: Stock Cooler
Motherboard: MSI B350 Tomahawk
Memory: 16 GB Corsair Vengeance LPX
Storage: SanDisk SSD PLUS 1 TB
Video Card: EVGA GTX 1060 SSC
Case: Phanteks Eclipse P400
Power Supply: Thermaltake Smart BX1 650W
This is my new build (with the classic spread of components).
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Master Liquid ML240L (Arriving sometime tomorrow, got delayed unfortunately)
Motherboard: Gigabyte X570 I Mini Itx Motherboard
Memory: 16 GB Corsair Vengeance LPX
Storage: SanDisk SSD PLUS 1 TB + WD Black 500GB M.2 SSD
Video Card: Zotac RTX 2070 Super Twin Fan
Case: NZXT H210i
Power Supply: Thermaltake Smart BX1 650W
A lot of the upgrades were more future proofing, then actually needing them. Adding more storage as games get bigger and bigger. Upgrading the gpu so I can wait another 3-4 years to upgrade to a newer one. Upgrading the motherboard so I can get a new Ryzen cpu once they come out. Upgrading/Downgrading the case, so it’s a bit more compact as my desk space becomes smaller due to online college classes.
I kept my current psu because I don't anticipate my future builds needing to go any higher than 650w, but maybe when Black Friday rolls around I'll get a new one.
Here is a pic of the "final" build.
Now onto more of the project stuff. This is mostly in the concept stage, so I'll just list out some bullet points I plan on doing in a first to last in priority order.
Tie in the red theme, i.e. red/black cables, rgb fans/strips, spray paint gpu/ssd? Either A. Get some custom stickers for the case depicting the FFXIV logo which looks like this, Bahamut, and a couple job icons or B. Spray paint them onto the case Find some more Dalamud related things to slap into/onto the case. Thanks for reading through everything (if you did)! This will be a long ongoing project that will probably stay pretty down to earth with nothing too crazy happening to it. I'll keep this updated with pretty much everything I do with it, so stay tuned!

That motherboard is only compatible with AMD Ryzen CPUS, so the Intel i3-8100 won't work, if you want AMD still I recommend a Ryzen 5 2600. I believe that's the same price. If not, switch the motherboard to something compatible with the i3
