The New Mac Pro is a good cheese grater. And that will come in handy, since you will be eating Government cheese after dropping 10K USD...

WhyThereIsAPieOverHead got a reaction from breadnbuttr in Can I bypass the vpn then get faster connection
Because of my parents work and they need a hardware vpn to connect the server of their company
so they bought the hardware to the home
I know that we have 1Gbps subscription from Netvigator
but now im getting 160 - 150 mbps of download speed and 800 upload speed
i am using FTTH connection
so can i bypass the vpn cuz my parents say that it will make a difference
or
maybe the vpn doesnt even have anything to do witha the speed

WhyThereIsAPieOverHead got a reaction from breadnbuttr in problematic pc
it started 2 months ago
my pc started to become slow af
booting up is slower (from 5 seconds to a whopping 2 minutes)
opening task manager takes minutes too!
scrolling is very laggy
moving window is very laggy also
not very responsive
task manager 100% system interrupts sometimes or (services controller app 100%)
also when I play games those sounds were awful, they make cracking and popping glitches noises which are very loud
it just acts like very old and slow cpu running windows 10 with 1gb of ram and no gpu
my specs:
CPU:Intel i7 8700 (non-k)
GPU:GTX1060 3gb
PSU 550W
SSD: ADATA SU800 256GB
RAM: Geil evo potenza 2x 8gb 2400mhz(oc to 2933mhz)

WhyThereIsAPieOverHead reacted to Stormseeker9 in Where do I plug in?
SATA port 3&4 will be disabled if using NVMe.

Usually, it makes no difference.
AM4 motherboards have two SATA connectors coming from the CPU , and several SATA connectors coming from the chipset. All would have the same speed, but in some conditions and under certain circumstances, the SATA connectors coming from CPU may have slower latency or you may have other benefits (for example if you have a m.2 ssd using nvme, transfers between sata hard drive and m.2 ssd may be a bit faster or may use less cpu resources, because both devices are connected directly to CPU instead of having data routed through the chipset) So you may want to favor those two SATA connectors.
If you insert a M.2 SSD which uses SATA to communicate with the PC, the motherboard may disable two SATA ports, usually the ones labeled SATA4 and SATA5 (the last two SATA ports). There's a small text near the connectors, so you can easily identify them. So, just in case you'll install a cheap m.2 SSD at a later time, you may want to avoid plugging your SATA cables into those two ports which may be disabled at some point, saves you the trouble of moving cables around later.
Check in your motherboard's manual (it's also on Asrock's site), it will say if some ports may become disabled or not, and it may say which ports are connected to CPU and which are connected to chipset.

all ports are ok
unless you have a m.2

I don't really mind that. As long as it performs close to an RX570/470 it's fine by me.
