  1. Hmm... So 32GB RAM would be fine? I did think 64GB could be an overkill but I just had to know if I'll need those extra. I edit 4K 10bit h265 D-log M 30fps drone videos or 4K 8it 60pfs max So I might exchange the RAM(High possibility). Then I'd be getting the 2TB or to spend less 1TB storage
  2. Hi I went through a lot of thoughts on this and I chose the macbook Pro for my next laptop. My last laptop was a six-year-old samsung ultrabook, can't even run a premiere pro 180p video. I know I am the one who makes the decision. I'll be using it for 4K 10bit 30/ 8bit 60fps video editing and mostly it will be a max 4~5min video. Considering that my desktop spec is high[i9 9900k / 32GB RAM / RTX2080ti ], I never had problems and RAM deficiency. mostly 20-25GB RAM would be about the max. I currently rarely use Adobe After Effect, which uses RAMs that are given and I thought someday I might need to use it more. The problem is Macbook Pro parts are soldered. So, initially I thought this would be the base, i9 2.3 / 8GB GPU / Education pack(might be a good opportunity to use a Mac product). The point is to either use 2TB 32GB RAM or 1TB 64GB RAM. I'd be considering using external SSDs and considered not crashing or slowing down the process when choosing 64GB RAM. 2TB would be not carrying or considering storage when programs I learn and use muiltplies. So I spent some time and asked through reddit and also Apple CS and went for the 64GB RAM first. I needed to know how I'd be using on a Macbook Pro. I still think it'a an overkill but if there's a 14 days return or exchange policy, I could use it to know whether I need that extra RAM. I don'y have great editing or numeral video editing skills to use those 32GB RAM but considering I'll be stepping my game up, it could be a futureproof investment. Anyway, if you think considering that I don't use more than 32GB RAM in my high-end desktop. Would it be wise to downgrade to 32GB RAM with 2TB storage? It seems it'll arrive in Fec 2 ps. I still don't get why people use Final Cut and Logic X simultaneously. I have use a mac ever so feel free enlighten me. The Apple adviser did say using 64GB RAM is rare but it's an insurance for not letting the program crash.

  4. bugdet would be around 5,000,000KRW(4400-$5000) Pretty much similar or more expensive. So, if the price is more than it's original I'd purchase it on the US and let it be sent to me by air. Only thing is how this will effect the performance when I edit videos. All the reviews including Linus show a positive opinion on this laptop. But considering the compatibility, Asus or MSI comes into the spot. I use Premiere Pro cc 2020 mostly with 4K videos and I'm not sure how much difference there is with 5700 and RTX 2060. I'm definitely not going to play games on the laptop
  5. Well I do have a acer HDR monitor and it did help me with wider spectrum on colours. I guess 16inch would be a decent option then?
  6. Location could be anywhere in a university or a cafe. Budget would be within $5000. Preferred max weight would be within 2kg. Battery life won't matter much since I'll be video editing which draw too much power. I hate the fact that apple did not support 4K HDR in that 16inch macbook pro. I did see the review clip of Asus Zenbook duo 2019 and it's in my list. But One have to be chosen and I have problem with exclusive apps in Mac OS. I live in Korea which isn't very Mac friendly country but that won't matter much of the tasks I'll be doing. I know there's not a perfect laptop. I hate thick gaming laptops which is why built a desktop for that kind of budget. But I'm stuck with a 6-7year old ultrabook of samsung that can't handle current requirement for editing. I use a mavic 2 pro drone and a osmo pocket for the editing in 4K videos. If you think macbook 16inch is decent please what merit there is other than I know about mac vs window. ps. it also seems AMD is winning that CPU race but the laptop adaptation seems a long time to wait.
  7. So I have a lot of problem with laptops. Every single tech company offer so many different options and it frustrates me when I have to get one. I'll be image and video editing mostly. But here's the thing. If I'm ever going to learn desgin programs like Sketch which are exclusive on Mac OS, I have to get a mac book pro. The problem is the current 16 inch seems decent but the price and the display don't really convince me. I'm currently struggling with buying a mac book pro 16 inch and asus zenbook duo and aero 15 OLED ya. The videos I'll be editing are mostly 4K so it does need high-end CPU but theses laptop have similar spec. What I'm concerned is that the GPU are different and that I have to decide the possibility that I'll learn programs only available in Mac OS. If the current 16inch Macbook Pro supported HDR display it would have been perfect. What's your choice on this one? Or do you have a better suggestion?

  10. Hi, I have to separate the extender from a fitting but it keeps on rotating and not coming off. Is there a way of separating the extender from fittings?
  11. Hi, I've read some tips that was thankfully provided by this forum. I appreciate the community here helping newbies like me. So I've made some photos to see If I've understood the flow of the pump well. My main concern is how do I mount the D5 pump on the left side of the Xforma case when using 'theDDC/D5 Pump Mount Sled'. What I thinking is to use a D5 pump on the mount sled to make the loop flow cooling liquid as much as possible. However, my concern is what to use to push the liquid upward to reservoir and the hardware waterblocks. If there anybody to guide me, please lend me some knowledge. Thanks Kim
  12. Hi, I'm going to use Xforma 's mbk mk2 for the case and I need a radiator. Mr. Harwood and I e-mailed each other for some inquiries I had (Really great for giving tips and quick responses), I'm choosing between Bitspower and EKWB radiator. [A] Radiator Bitspower Leviathan XF 480 4xG1/4" Radiator EK-CoolStream XE 480 My main hardware choices are as written below Motherboard: Asus Maximus X Formula CPU: Intel i7 8086k GPU: EVGA RTX 2080ti( or GTX 1080ti) I'll be using metal tubing cause I don't want to use a heatgun to bend tubing and waste my time. Pump Mod-one which sells pump mounts provide two product that accommodates pumps What I'm not sure is the difference between those pumps, D5 and DDC. I do think I need at least one pump to make the custom loop flow, or two. Single Rad & DDC Pump Moun https://mod-one.com/single-rad-ddc-pump-mount/ DDC/D5 Pump Mount Sled https://mod-one.com/ddc-d5-pump-mount-sled/ If there's any body to shed some light upon me being completely unaware of those pump, please feel free to enlighten me.

  14. Thanks for the opinion. Yeah I saw some videos on youtube and heard that the hardware learns which file is used most and boosts the speed portion. Also, the price seems similar which kinda made it confusing to choose either side.
  15. Hi, I'm going to have to choose between Seagate Barracuda Pro and FireCuda 2tb. I'm not familiar with numbers or differences of DRAM or just RAM. Anyway both products appeals fast storage but the usage look a bit different. Barracuda Pro seems more appropriate for storage and editing program but FireCuda looks more appealing for gaming storage. one has intel Optane memory tech but not sure what it's useful for. In conclusion, I'm primarily using this hardware for storage and gaming like in steam. If there's any suggestion feel free to share your's.
