  1. This to be expected - unless you live in the Lower Mainland, Purolator tracking (usually) won't update until around the day before it goes out for delivery. For example, Vancouver > Toronto is usually 5 business days delivery via Ground. This means I won't get an update scan until Tuesday when it arrives at my local depot.
  2. Just remember that after currency conversion its ~$150CAD
  3. Really interested in the future of Linus Media Group, especially with the new HQ and the amazing production value. Best of luck to everyone! Username: DavePC https://www.vessel.com/videos/LCoY5zfFf https://www.vessel.com/videos/JYZEYDYx0 I love the server video especially, I still remember that video in 2012 :')
  4. Hey Everyone, So I'm building computer for a friend and after installing everything, I get no display out. After doing some trouble shooting, I believe the GPU (Gigabyte R9 280) is dead. The specs of this build can be found here: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/XZQGt6 CPU: Intel Core i5-4460 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-H97M-D3H Micro ATX LGA1150 Motherboard Memory: A-Data XPG V1.0 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory Storage: Kingston SSDNow V300 Series 120GB 2.5" Solid State Drive Storage: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive Video Card: Gigabyte Radeon R9 280 3GB WINDFORCE Video Card Case: Cooler Master N200 MicroATX Mid Tower Case Power Supply: EVGA 600B 600W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply Monitor: LG 22M35D 60Hz 22.0" Monitor When the GPU was removed, the system boots and I can hear the motherboard speaker. With the GPU reinstalled, all you hear are the fans spinning, nothing else happens, no display nothing. I replaced the R9 280 with my GTX 780Ti for troubleshooting, and sure enough my 780Ti works, so it's definitely not an issue with the motherboard or PSU. The R9 280 also doesn't work on my Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H motherboard, and I get an error code of 62 "Installation of the PCH runtime services". I have attempted the following: - Updated BIOS to latest version - no effect - Disabled on board intel integrated graphics - no effect - Switching out the RAM - no effect - Testing GPU on other system - no effect - Testing other GPUs on this system - system boots fine At this point, I am pretty sure the GPU is dead, but does anyone have any other ideas?
  5. I understand the issues with the V300, but based on installing one in my friends system, it gets the work done, and he really doesn't care too much at performance, hes still very value oriented. I've swapped the GPU out with a R9 280 for now, and I'll see if I can push his budget for an R9 290. He's not too concerned about power efficiency as hes in a dorm, and the system still doesn't come very close to 500W, but if I can push his budget, we'll see.
  6. Hey everyone, I have a friend interested in a ~$1000 Canadian build including tax (13% HST) and a monitor, and this is the final parts list I came up with. Any feedback/advice would be awesome! 7. In regards to the NCIX RMA, you could always post reviews using your NCIX account, this means you gain around ~25 points per review. Or, claim the points you get from the NCIX newsletter. Once you accumulate 500 points, get VIP status from NCIX. This means free return RMA shipping, NCIX covers it.
  8. Down for me as well. Resolving to CloudFlare Seattle, the choice of host nvidia picked really... yeah.
  9. Man, I still remember my first LTT Video (I think) Good times. Here's to another 5 years of LTT content.
  10. Sid, assuming you do live in Canada, After shipping, currency conversion, taxes etc Nexus 5 comes into around $420 in Canada. (16GB, Black Shipped). It's a great phone, but I would advise waiting 2 months for the new Nexus.
  11. That would be not be very reliable. There is a reason its called Raid 0- zero reliability. Thanks everyone, looks the the Crucial MX100 is the way to go.
  12. My mistake, I meant something with the value and still great speed of the evo.
  13. Hey guys, I'm in the market of upgrading my old Samsung 830 128GB SSD with Win 7 and plan to migrate to a 250-256GB SSD, with Win 8.1 thrown on. Looking for an SSD on the faster end of the spectrum, but still a great value. (like a cross between the Samsung 840 Evo and the 840 Pro) (evo for value and speed, pro for reliability) Any suggestions?
  14. Hopefully you don't have it shipped to Canada, an extra $100 in taxes almost.
  15. And my order arrived, but Teespring messed up, happened to get an print that was at an angle. Contacted Teespring support, and they are sending out a reprint that arrives.. within 3 - 4 weeks. Regardless, great customer support there. Shipping wasn't too bad, shipping to Canada (Toronto) took 6 business days. (4 days in transit to Canada, One day in customs, two days at Canada Post)
  16. Not really here to comment on the giveaway, but mostly to give dbrands a HUGE thumbs up. I personally don't use any skins myself, I like my phone naked- but I have got a COUPLE of friends who have ordered from DBrand, and they are ALWAYS satisfied, really high quality skins. Plus, its a Canadian company, which makes it all the more awesome.
  17. Order shipped today, now its just a game of waiting. Looks like its shipping from Los Angeles, will take a while for Canada Post to get it across Canada. And yeah Nick, a huge factor of myself getting the HighLANder shirt instead of the shirts on districtlines was the cost of shipping.
  18. oops, all of these videos involve rage. Really wish I could've chose this video, but its not on TechQuickie.
  19. I can vouch for him, great guy. More details here: http://linustechtips.com/main/classifieds/item/618-riptide-custom-sleeving/
  20. Anyone's shirt ship yet? (ordering from Canada, god the shipping is ridiculous)

  22. We happen to live in Canada, so thats $700. < See you used canadian pcpartpicker, nevermind Taxes of 13% and usually parts are marked up by like ~$30 so yeah, thats kinda a issue. EDIT: He may be able to raise his budget, hold on
  23. My friend is building a rig in order to improve his experience mostly on free-to-plays, but probably will also break into some more demanding PC games, as hes been on a Laptop with an Intel iGPU, he's decided to move up.
