  1. Voltage alone wont do it, you need Amps to kill it, so with Temps controled and the Amps more or less under control its fine.

I was running my 3900x at 4.7 all core for some time and no issues.

My 5800x3d I have it on stock voltage but I let it eat all the juice it wants and I have the clock gen at 102 so it has more clock then stock all core. No issues, But I have a big water loop .

  2. I play Star citizen, and all I can say is for the 45$ price you cant get this experience anywere. Yes its an alpha , yes loads of missing features and etc. But if you play the game for sometime you will understand how good it is and how big it will get. People have diferent opinions but I think if you play it then you can make one, or you can see some recent gameplay on youtube. I wish it will come out someday, even if not I had my 45$ of fun. Just to add its a very heavy game and only the X3d cpus give your gpu the headroom to scale .

  3. SImple as this, Psu is the psu leave it original. Now the Top rad you want fresh air so they will put air in, front fans will put air in, Fans down will feed the gpu with fresh air and they will make the air go up and into that read fan that will take all air out , you will have positive presure so dont worry. I have been doing builds for very long and I can say the more air going in the better.

  4. Amd cards are good, amd drivers are good, this is the short one.

The long one is They have been always good, depending on the price that you want and performance they are good compared to the competition.

Now if you want a card now the 7900xtx and the one to get the jump to a 4090 will cost you alot more. If you want mid range you can get a 6950xt for around 500 to 700 and thats a really good card, for the mid range cant go wrong with the 6700xt .

  5. Ok , upgrading from 7700k, the 7700k has a good IPC, if you manage to sell the CPU and board you can get a 3900x or a 5900x keep the ddr4 and you can get a cheap b450 board that has bios flash back. But I think if you just upgrade to the 7700k you will be more then ok. hold the platform for loads more time. the GTX 1070 does not use that cpu at all even at 1080p.

This is my opinion, Upgrade cpu to 7700k(be aware is hoter then the 7500), upgrade gpu to a 6800xt and upgrade monitor to a 4k or 1440p maybe ultra wide. This will make your system amazing and you can work and play games. the 7700k will be ok maybe some bottleneck on some game but dont worry about it, the way to avoid that is just to limit fps .

  6. the 6800xt is a 4k card if you only use raster and no raytrace, with raytrace its a 1440p card with FSR because raytrace is really heavy on any card.

At 1080p the 6800xt is be amazing even with the 5600x, yes you will be limited by the cpu, now if you put a fps limit for you screen for example 144hz so 144 fps limit you will run the card probbaly at 50 or 70% so it will run cool and wont overload your cpu. with this card your bottleneck will be the monitor anything above what your monitor can do is really wasting power.

  7. I went from a 3900x with loads of OC to a 5800x3d and its also oc to 4750mhz, It made a diference, on games that really need the cache yes it makes the diference, on the rest yes it improved due to the better IPC, If I had the 5950x i wont get the 5800x3d, just keep the system and upgrad to AM5 if you call sell that one, or just hold and wait.

The 5800x3d when OC is really hot, I have a 360/60 rad with push pull and another 120mm rad with push pull and it will get to the 80c, but damm its fast, specially on star citizen 40fps to over 120 gpu always at 100%.

  8. I have a 5800x3d with a 6800xt and all I can say is do the upgrade, I play at 1440p I upgraded from a 3900x and I noticed the upgrade on loads of games. Specially on star citizen, Be aware its a hot boy, it will get hot, if you have a msi board just turn on Kombo strike if not you can use pbotweak2 and lowe the curve to -30 and you actually get lower temps and better clocks,

Mine is actually OC to 4750 all core with BCLK. For what you pay for the upgrade it will be way less then upgrading to anything better for gaming.
