  1. I've been looking into getting a tablet lately and I was thinking about getting the Tab S4, but waited until the Tab S6 came out, hoping the price of the S4 would drop, and it did. I like having the newest tech when possible, but I'm also conscious of price to performance ratios. Right now, I'm leaning towards the Tab S4 because it's about $300 cheaper, which is a significant amount, but I may decide to finance so it's not a huge hit all at once. So, I just wanna know if there's anything that the S6 has or improves on that's worth that big of a margin before I decide which one to buy
  2. I know the Galaxy Tab S4 has palm rejection, and comes with a very competent pen. It's about like $500 new for the 64GB version, and you can find it for $400 used/open box. It's a but pricey, but the Tab S6 comes out this August, so hopefully the price will drop. Plus, the Tab S4 has Dex, which will treat the tablet as a desktop computer if you decide to buy the keyboard that Samsung sells. Super productivity, good for notes and organization, art, etc. I'm unsure if the S5e supports palm rejection, and pretty sure it doesn't come with a pen, but it is in your price range
  3. So I have a friend that's looking for a computer. I was planning on building one for her, because her budget isn't super high, and I have the knowledge to help. However, because of Prime day, another friend of mine found this one for sale: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07PKXQBHN/ref=s9_acsd_bw_wf_a_BTSmainw_cdl_7?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=merchandised-search-4&pf_rd_r=424XMYTR8FRBZPYDBR60&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=7812fd9d-7617-4125-954d-9eb9d86d507b&pf_rd_i=15201447011 Use case for PC: Casual Gaming - Minecraft, Bioshock, maybe Monster Hunter, etc. Art - Mostly Photoshop Digital Painting and light photo edits After some price checks, I think this PC might be worth it. The only things that she might need upgraded is a bigger SSD and maybe 8 more gigs of ram. What do you guys think? PS: Sorry for lack of detail, gotta clock out of work lol
  4. Haha I forgot it was April 1st. Good thing Cloudflare actually cares about this too much to pull a joke like this lol
  5. This is completely in the wrong section But I'd say avoid using a Kingston SSD. Get Crucial brand Make sure the PSU is 80+ certified
  6. SOURCE: https://www.cnet.com/news/cloudflare-offers-mobile-vpn-to-hide-more-of-your-browsing-history/ Cloudflare's 1.1.1.1 DNS will be adding a VPN to your connection if you use their DNS to further increase your privacy and security, and they assure you that it won't slow down your connection speed. By offering a freemium model, they'll be making money of of this. However, they promise not to slow down their free users' connection to entice users to upgrade. Supposedly, a high adoption rate of the VPN will make Cloudflare's other products more popular and improve them, which will help improve the experience the general user will have while browsing the internet. I personally haven't used the 1.1.1.1 DNS yet, and I do have my own VPN through PIA (so many acronyms in this post). But I think it's a great idea. It's nice to see companies that actually care about internet privacy (even if they are planning and making it a freemium service).
  7. SOURCE: https://www.gamespot.com/articles/two-new-nintendo-switch-models-coming-and-they-may/1100-6465809/ Nintendo plans on announcing new Switch models at the next E3. One will be for the "avid" gamer, although the specs won't match up to the XboxOne X or PS4 Pro. The lesser of the two is aimed towards casual gamer to essentially encourage them to upgrade from their 3DS. Also, Sharp will be making the displays for these models, despite losing the bid for the original Switch. I don't know how I feel about this. I'm all for budget systems for people who aren't into competitive gameplay, though. I think the Switch is an awesome system and if they can make the display a bit better, I think this'll be pretty cool. I just don't know how necessary it is to get a "better" Switch for the games it provides. I have a feeling the more expensive model might be better for when the Xbox cross-platform thing becomes solidified.
  8. wrong section for this post. But it's a cloud gaming service. you pay for the service, choose a game to play, it runs on a foreign machine but streams to your screen

Facebook claims that they normally mask people's passwords when they create accounts, but apparently hundreds of millions of password were accessible in a database by Facebook employees. This was noticed in January by security engineers who realized that passwords were being inadvertently logged into a plain text format. And although Facebook claims that no one outside of Facebook had access to these, they still won't release how many employees had access to this data. Just change your passwords if you use Facebook, use a password manager and randomly generated passwords, and remember that Facebook/Instagram will never treat your data right lol
  10. SOURCE: https://www.t3.com/news/samsung-galaxy-fold-will-have-a-very-visible-crease-unofficial-video-reveals The Samsung Galaxy Fold has done a great job at looking sleek and slender (despite the awful notch in tablet mode). However, it seems like it was all smoke and mirrors, which I guess shouldn't be too surprising. A new video shows that the phone actually has a crease in it like all the other foldable displays. They avoided showing this in their original presentations by keeping the phone in a display box with the lights angled perfectly inside. But now with a hands-on look, we can see the reality of the display. I personally was hoping that Samsung would be the ones to market the phone without a crease in it. However, I wasn't expecting much. A foldable display that's meant to be folded most of the time is always going to have a crease, at least for now. Although, I gotta say that this crease looks way better than most of the other foldable phones that are being shown. I think in 2-3 years we'll see some seamless displays coming out. The first versions of electronics very rarely hit the mark the first time. What do you think? (This is my first tech news post, so I'm hoping this is worthy of a post and formatted correctly.)
  11. It looks legit. They all seem to be going for a similar price, that one just has almost $8USD shipping where others are ~$23 or so with free shipping.
  12. If that's the only Adobe program you'll use, buy it now lol and there's a chance that Adobe will honor certain licenses with updates, but maybe not if they rename it as Adobe Texture or something like that and put it in CC lol. And just wait, 6 months from now it's gonna be $80 a month to "make up" for this acquisition
  13. Idk if these are the same story, but here's an LTT video about this subject
  14. 550W 80+ Certified PSU is more than enough for this computer, so no point in spending more. And upgrading RAM and PSU would put this even more over budget
  15. Hey guys, So a friend of mine wants a new gaming pc that he can have for a budget. He's looking for pre-built for the convenience, but I want to convince him to build it (or have me build it) so he can get a better bang for his buck. I made a part list that I think would be a good build for him. He sticks mainly to casual and esports games (non-competitive), so nothing insane. He plans on upgrading in the future (next year or two). If you have any input, let me know! I don't know a whole lot about AMD's line of parts since I did my build and all the research for it on Intel and NVIDIA. Obviously the case could be cheaper, but it has a little RGB and tempered glass, so it should satisfy him. Changing the case is a pain in the ass so I figured he'd want a decent one now. Also, if you know of any prebuilts that aren't awful, let me know!
  16. It's not the fact that it's in the game, it's the fact that it's supposedly part of a paid DLC. Epic is making money off of it. And that's illegal if somebody else owns the rights to it. I highly doubt this will go to trial. It'll either be removed, or there will be a settlement
  17. I don't know your budget, but here! https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07F7KVR38/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_otxeCbH04Q17T?fbclid=IwAR2RghgRep2DyCr7OzD7LyDZ5SNk2-hJrkqVzXCiSM75-8dWIZ5emnOW1A0
  18. Yea you're graphics card isn't being added into that price. That 1070 is gonna run you another 300+ bucks. If all your friends are on PS4, just stick with that for now and keep saving
  19. I'd say go for an EVGA 550 or 650. Get a 80+ Certified PSU and you'll be safe. But no, it won't catch on fire
  20. Banned for discrimination against bands
  21. Yea, definitely overclock and get a decent cooler, maybe around $50. Air cooling is fine. And if that doesn't work, definitely see if you can get a 7700K or 8700K. It should fix the bottleneck with your GPU and make streaming while gaming a lot easier
