JohnCarlHenry reacted to johnt in new fans
I bit the Noctua teet very hard in my latest build. I put 7 fans in a mini ITX box smh... I'm seriously considering replacing the PSU fan with a Noctua and also modifying my GPU fans. Ugh it's shocking how much quieter they are than even good fans by reputable companies. I'm totally fanboying at this point. But honestly it was convenient to have an extension and splitter with every fan.
There is no RGB but the performance and noise levels are impressive. Plus they have specific fan types for air flow, static pressure, mixed, slim, different levels of quiet, different sizes, and now they have all black versions too. And they are all consistent in design, which is kind of tough to find.

JohnCarlHenry reacted to RONOTHAN## in CPU upgrade
I mean, the 5800X/5700X (again, same chip, get whichever is cheapest) is a good chip and everything, it's just not usually a chip that makes a ton of sense. If you actually need the extra cores found on it, you would be better off saving a bit more and going 5900X or 12700F (both much faster CPUs that don't cost that much more) or if you don't, you'd be better off investing the money you saved into a better GPU, say a 1070 or RX 6600 XT.

With your current board and everything, the 5600/5600X would be the best option. The performance of those two chips is basically identical, just get which ever one is cheaper, and if they're the same price, err on the side of the 5600X.

JohnCarlHenry reacted to thrasher_565 in RGB controllers
looks like the coolermaster argb controller only allows it to plug in to and rgb mb header and convert the argb fans to rgb so you still would need and rgb header.
same gose for the argb it has to be plugged in to an mb argb header seem like it dose not work with usb?
or you can use the buttons on the controller with out using the mb connectors i think?
razer, some aquacomputer and coolermaster usb controllers look to have stranded connectors well others need adapters

JohnCarlHenry reacted to Poinkachu in RGB controllers
Not that I ever used it myself, but yeah I think so.

JohnCarlHenry reacted to Poinkachu in RGB controllers
Pretty sure you can't use that on your MB rgb header.
That board uses 12v 5050 strip.
You need something like :

JohnCarlHenry reacted to Jorgemeister in RGB controllers
I believe corsair uses some dumb proprietary sockets for the RGB on those, you will need an extension/adapter from that to regular aRGB strips.
Edit: I dont own any, I saw it on a video when I was researching for one of their cases that comes with it.

JohnCarlHenry reacted to Haro in picking a gpu
No it's kind of the opposite
The 1650 super has a smaller frame buffer (compared to the 8gig Variant or the 5500xt ) but is overall faster
Also the 1660 is about the same as bother the 1650 super and the 5500xt
They are all within the range of 5-10% of each other

JohnCarlHenry reacted to adm0n in picking a gpu
Have you checked the used market? I don't really know about the Philippines, but here you can get them for pretty cheap.
Otherwise I'd get the RX 5500XT as it is a newer card and is also slightly faster.
You can also look at the GTX 1650 super or GTX 1660 and see how much they cost. The 1650 super is a little slower than the 5500XT in most games, and the gtx 1660 is a little faster

JohnCarlHenry reacted to VenomizerX in budget phone
$300-$400 you'll find some decent mid-rangers from known brands (like Samsung) and even some ones with high-end specs for the price from lesser known brands (like Nubia or Xiaomi).

Unidirectional to pickup your voice and avoid background noise.

JohnCarlHenry reacted to rice guru in is HyperX Cloud Alpha good for the price?
It's decent but I think the mh751/752 is better and with this sale for the PC 37x this is what would personally jump on if I needed a headset at a good price.

JohnCarlHenry reacted to Metallus97 in is HyperX Cloud Alpha good for the price?
Its ok
But as with manny gaming headset the sound is not optimal. Kingston knows how to make flash and memory etc, but doesnt really know how to do headsets.
Get this: https://www.amazon.de/Sennheiser-GSP-Geschlossenes-Gaming-Kopfhörer-schwarz-Rot/dp/B01MCRE3S9/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?__mk_de_DE=ÅMÅŽÕÑ&crid=SGKVYO00JAZZ&keywords=sennheiser+headset&qid=1573389892&sprefix=sennheiser+he%2Caps%2C166&sr=8-2-spons&psc=1&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUExRjIyT0JINUUxNldZJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwNzI1NDA5MTVCSE02OEM4UlhTOSZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNTU1NzA4MTNXNTVDUllPNUw3TiZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU=
similar price but blows the Kingston out of the water in terms of headphone and mic quality! Sennheiser know thier shit for much longer than Kingston.
I know that because I do music recording etc. and use manny Sen mics and headphones. For gaming I use a HD660S and a studio mic (because I already have it :D)
