  1. Yeah, sorry if it seemed a bit salty. But I mostly feel bad for the people here, actually being passionate about this, trying to get more contributors.
  2. So are we suppose to go back in time and subscribe for the folding month? Great exposure in the WAN show... Good luck guys, hope you guys set a good score.
  3. Okay, had to see it with my own eyes... Now I believe it! VSOC seems to work properly now with bios v1401 (beta)
  4. Okay.... I don't trust the motherboards internal reporting anymore...
  5. Thank you. It's actually the only way I could mount the 2 fans on the fin-stack. Sure, the center fan has more play, but I wanted to line them up. Still wasn't disappointed how it ended up looking in the end.
  6. I've heard about it with certain types of coolers that have very little to no strain control. It just took me by surprise that AMD/Noctua has this issue. I'm considering a mounting bracket for this, it Might help relieving and spreading the pressure better. That's exactly why I shared it, I got the weirdest issues and took me about 2 days of troubleshooting, with the limited time I had, to find the issue.
  7. Awesome, just the person I'm looking for... I have the exact same cooler in my build, to get some extra GPU clearance (NH-D15S) and I'm considering to get that bracket as well. Since I did have my fair share of issues with the mounting pressure. I had to unscrew the retention screws, one full turn to get the system stable. Because you have that bracket, did you bottom out the Noctua retention screws? I'm really curious, regarding your experience. Since, in my case, it's pretty sensitive. Maybe this would be a nice fix for me to prevent that issue in the future. Hope to hear more of your detailed experience, regarding the bracket.
  8. Originally I wanted to go full stealth, but these days, getting anything without RGB is a challenge. After I saw the Red Devil, I kind of liked it, so I adjusted the case RGB strip to match. I'm pretty happy with the result in the end. Parts list: CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7950X GPU: AMD Radeon 7900XTX 24GB - Power Color Red Devil RAM: Kingston Fury Beast 64GB(2x32GB)/6000MTs/36-38-38/DDR5 motherboard: Asus ROG Crosshair X670E GENE storage: Kingston Fury Renegade 1TB (boot) storage: Kingston NV2 2TB (game library 2xRAID-0) cooling: Noctua NH-D15S chromax.black + extra 140x150mm fan thermal paste: Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut PSU: Seasonic Prime PX-1300 case: Fractal Design Torrent Compact Black TG Dark + extra 180mm fan UPS: APC BX2200LI-GR Notes: My choice of OS is Fedora Linux Yes, I'm aware the PSU is overkill, I aimed for clean and consistent power power delivery and never want it to have to work hard. I've had my share of issues with some component compatibility; motherboard, nvme-module, cooler fin-stack, fans, case I've had some mounting pressure issues, shared my experience here
  9. I just put my 7950x in a Asus Crosshair X670E GENE, with a Noctua NH-D15S If I bottom out the retention screws with springs, the system would get weird instability were it couldn’t boot… the power button did not respond, only some RGB on the board lit up… was trouble shooting/testing the power cables, re-seated the cpu, psu. All didn’t change much, until I didn’t mount the fin-stack, but just plopped it on top as a thermal mass to see what happened with bare minimal cables and other devices connected. IT BOOTED!!! So in the end i put everything back together again, mounted the the cooler gently, with a couple of cold boots in between to make sure it kept working… then the next morning… dead again… I unscrewed the retention screws from the lowest position one full turn… system worked again /flip-table-meme-here/ Since then, system is stable… heard about the CPU issues through Reddit, grabbed the latest bios… and dropped 20°C on idle with expo on (from 55°C to 35°C) I hope this experience is useful for you, and that it finds you. Good luck, I hope you get to the bottom of this!
  10. @RONOTHAN## I got the same reply on another forum. I was looking in the wrong section, however it's still going above it. See attachments. (memory settings left: "auto", right: "EXPO 1")
  11. So the ASUS website mentions they put a limit in place to protect the motherboard and CPU (My R9 7950X). However, after the bios update it states it's using 1.350v. Did I misunderstand something?
  12. I just ordered one, I'll definitely let you know. Side note; I'm using Fedora Linux.
