  1. Hello guys, I have this PC from couple of years ago, it has ben my main rig. Here are some photos (The last photo is not my build, but the build I will get the GTX 970 and how it looks like) .................................................................... Specs: -i7 4790k -MSI Z97 G45 Gaming https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/Z97-G45-GAMING/Specification -MSI GTX 970 Twin Frozr Gaming (I will swap my current RX 580 with the 970 from another build) -Kingston HyperX-Fury 16gb DDR3 (8x2) https://www.amazon.com/Kingston-HyperX-FURY-2x8GB-1600MHz/dp/B00J8E8XT4/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=Kingston+HyperX-Fury+16gb+DDR3&qid=1557425752&s=gateway&sr=8-3 -Crucial MX100 256gb SSD -WD Green 3TB HDD -Seasonic X-850 80 plus gold (Don't ask why it is here :p) https://seasonic.com/x-series -NZXT Phantom Classic Full Tower https://www.nzxt.com/products/phantom-black ......................................................................... Performance-wise, I am completely satisfied with it and dont intend to upgrade anything, playing games on 1080p/60fps. However, I dont like its asthetics and intend to upgrade it completely. this is the first time I build a pc (kinda), so help me on compatibility and these stuff. What I am planning to do (in consideration of budget choices): 1- Sell the MX100, since I have noticed it has gotten slow, and get a 1TB SSD (OS+ programs+most frequent games) specifically (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07B4G19X3/ref=ox_sc_act_title_5?smid=A25SITGFW0OQJA&psc=1) 2- Sell the 3TB WD Green, since I have noticed EXTREMELY slow performance gaming+non-gaming and showing signs of failing in the near future, and get a 3TB Seagate BarraCuda 7200RPM (Data+other games) (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01IEKG4NE/ref=ox_sc_act_title_4?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1) 3- Sell the NZXT case and replace it with either: - LIAN LI PC-O11 Dynamic Black (https://www.newegg.com/global/sa-en/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811112583&ignorebbr=1) - LIAN LI PC-O11 Dynamic Razer Edition Black (https://www.newegg.com/global/sa-en/Product/Product.aspx?item=9SIA0ZX95W7922) 4- Get sleeved cables, but I don't know what cables to look for, so please help me on this. I am thinking of one of these (If possible, I want to show the cpu, mobo, and gpu cables ONLY. Others should be hidden): - Uphere Black+Red (https://www.amazon.com/uphere-Sleeved-Cable-extension-extra-sleeved/dp/B0795Q8P7D/ref=sr_1_4?crid=3G2GM5H3KAEJ6&keywords=sleeve%2Bextension%2Bpower%2Bsupply%2Bcable&qid=1557426803&s=gateway&sprefix=sleeve%2Bextension%2Caps%2C252&sr=8-4&th=1) - Phanteks Black+Red (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01G7VSFEI/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_6?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&th=1) (Other colors are all available also) - Uphere White with extra cables (https://www.amazon.com/upHere-Sleeve-Extension-Extra-Sleeved-PIN-Red/dp/B06XNV7H6Y/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=sleeve%2Bextension%2Bcables&qid=1557427038&s=gateway&sr=8-6&th=1) - Uphere Red with extra cables (https://www.amazon.com/upHere-Sleeve-Extension-Extra-Sleeved-PIN-Red/dp/B0719Q59YC/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=sleeve%2Bextension%2Bcables&qid=1557427038&s=gateway&sr=8-6&th=1) - Uphere R+B+W w/extra cables (https://www.amazon.com/upHere-Sleeve-Extension-Extra-Sleeved-PIN-Red/dp/B071ZJZNYH/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=sleeve%2Bextension%2Bcables&qid=1557427038&s=gateway&sr=8-6&th=1) (These are the best I can get delivered directly to my country easily, others will be a hassle to get delivered so I didnt menton others) 5- Sell my old Hyper 212 evo and get a new cpu cooler, I specifically plan on getting the MSI air cooler, not for performance, but for the MSI combo I have that will make the build really nice with their dragon led + its ''decent'' price (I don't want AIO in my build) (https://www.amazon.com/MSI-Cooler-Silver-Core-Frozr/dp/B01MFB358A/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=msi+cpu+cooler&qid=1557427321&s=gateway&sr=8-2#customerReviews) 6- I don't know if this will work, but I found an rgb heat sink for 15$ for my black ddr3 ram. If it does work, it will add a lot to this build. Please if someone knows if it is compatible with my ram let me know. (https://www.amazon.com/Memory-Cooling-Radiation-Dissipate-Overclocking/dp/B07C9HSLQB/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=ddr3%2Brgb&qid=1557427512&s=gateway&sr=8-1&th=1) 7- Finally, since the O11-Dynamic doesnt come with any fan, I want to get some budget rgb fans and dont want to overpay too much. I dont want to get any premium ones for airflow, just ''enough'' air flow with good asthetics. I DONT want to go with premium corsair and nzxt options. I want a good budget combo with nice asthetics and fair performance. The thing is I dont know how many fans best to get and what to get best for me. Here are some options I have my eyes on. Please enlighten me with the number of fans best. - Uphere RGB 123-5 (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07HCZ5WKJ/ref=ox_sc_act_title_3?smid=AFRUWVWO3UJ63&psc=1) - Uphere RGB C8123-5 (https://www.amazon.com/upHere-Wireless-Airflow-Adjustable-Radiators/dp/B07DHM6SW9/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=120mm+rgb+fans&qid=1557427942&s=gateway&sr=8-3) - DarkFlash (https://www.amazon.com/darkFlash-120mm-Cooling-Addressable-Controller/dp/B07H2STKTS/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=darkflash&qid=1557427757&s=gateway&sr=8-3&th=1) - Pccooler (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07J5RSF37/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_1?smid=A34UXG42R582TP&psc=1) - Asiahorse Solar EclipseIII (https://www.amazon.com/Asiahorse-ECLIPSEIII-120mm-Interactive-Controller-Radiators/dp/B07KZDLZ6M/ref=sr_1_17?keywords=120mm+rgb+fans&qid=1557427730&s=gateway&sr=8-17) - Asiahorse NEBULA (https://www.amazon.com/Asiahorse-ECLIPSEIII-120mm-Interactive-Controller-Radiators/dp/B07KZ9MRMM/ref=sr_1_17?keywords=120mm%2Brgb%2Bfans&qid=1557427730&s=gateway&sr=8-17&th=1) ............................................................. All of your opinions are welcome and appreciated.
  2. I want to sell the pc, so I want to change the case to a cheap rgb case that has good asthetics only with led or rgb fans and tempered glass. I wont be using the computer and even it doesnt require any good air flow. It is running an i7 3770 with the intel fan and an asus gtx 970. I think it would provide its function with this particular system with its cheap price here, right? One more question: I am not a veteran in pc building, but can I just attach the case to the psu to just provide power and the blue led? meaning I just want the lights and fans to turn on and I dont want to control anything from the Mobo or windows. So is it doable if I just can attach to a Corsair GS700 PSU?
  3. Can anybody provide me a definitive answer please?
  4. Anybody has an idea please? because I have a chance to get the case or reject it and look for something else.
  5. So should I just change to another case? or all cases won't work?
  6. I found a comment that it contains a ''fan controller on the top'', but what does that actually mean? does it make a difference?
  7. Hello, I have an old Motherboard GIGABYTE GA-PA65-UD3-B3 https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-PA65-UD3-B3-rev-10#ov Will this case LED fans work 100% ok with it? http://www.gamemaxpc.com/productkkk/showproduct.php?id=496 I may also add an rgb cpu fan, how and will it be connected? FYI, the powersupply is Corsair GS700 non modular. Thank you.
  8. I can get the GS 700 for 40$ used rather than getting a new for 80-100$, which I definately dont want to pay for a PSU in this build. It already has a 4+2 pin that will work, and the previous owner says he moved to a new pc and wanted to sell the old and it was playing on a GTX 960. If it is good enough for my current needs then I think it is a good deal for this cheap budget build. What do you recommend?
  9. I live outside US, so shipping is really expensive
  10. How is a used Corsair GS700? i can get it in a good deal today
  11. What do I look for in a PSU? Like basic stuff. For example the 12v should be V1 V2 or only 1? and how many amps is better? how many watts? Like the basic for me
  12. I live overseas outside of USA, so I got to buy it from Amazon USA Warehouse, that is my best bet. But I am shocked that the PSU's I listed are not an upgrade after 11 years.. Sure, will do very soon
  13. To recap: i7-3770 Stock cooler GIGABYTE GA-PA64-UD3-B3 4x2gb 1330mhz kingston DDR3 *(Going to add a new MX500 250gb SSD)* 500gb WD Green *(I MAY add a 3tb Seagate 7200rpm HDD, not sure yet)* Asus Strix GTX 970 4GB Optical drive (I May remove it with a new case upgrade) 3 120mm normal led fans (Currently installed) *May add some budget rgb case fans (120mm or 140mm) in the future with new case* I will sell this current prebuilt Gigabyte 500w in the picture and get a new PSU. There will be 0 Upgrade other than the above parts. Please note that this is a cheap used prebuilt system that will only be used for 1080p gaming, nothing extreme will be done, maybe in the future some 1080p video editing as a hobby not sure, so definately dont want the PSU to bite a huge chunk from the overall budget. So I totally want to go the most budget with good headroom for psu to breath some normal stress but not go to "Unsafe" levels . I want a PSU that is "enough" and "Safe" to run this config above with NO future upgrade path. So I want the most logical choice in this psu list. 1- https://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-Certified-Continuous-cooling-PS-SPD-0500NPCWUS-W/dp/B014W3EM2W/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=thermaltake%2Bsmart&qid=1555508911&s=gateway&sr=8-1-spons&th=1 2- https://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-Certified-Continuous-Active-PS-SPD-0700NPCWUS-W/dp/B014W3EMAO/ref=sr_1_3?keywords=thermaltake%2Bsmart&qid=1555508911&s=gateway&sr=8-3&th=1 3- https://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-Certified-Continuous-cooling-PS-SPD-0500NPCWUS-W/dp/B014W3EAX8/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?keywords=thermaltake%2Bsmart&qid=1555508911&s=gateway&sr=8-1-spons&th=1 4- https://www.amazon.com/EVGA-WHITE-Warranty-Supply-100-W1-0500-KR/dp/B00H33SFJU/ref=sr_1_48?keywords=power+supply&qid=1555508994&s=gateway&sr=8-48 5- https://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-Crossfire-Continuous-Non-Modular-PS-SPR-0550NHFABU-1/dp/B07HKL8JQF/ref=sr_1_58?keywords=power+supply&qid=1555509018&s=gateway&sr=8-58 6- https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B078HJ2RCW/ref=ox_sc_act_title_2?smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER&psc=1
  14. That is what I was afraid of, Ok well do you know the best budget Psu to buy just for this specific build no OC or any future upgrade?? Since it is a very cheap used build I got, I dont want to spend alot on an overkill PSU that takes a huge fraction of the cost for nothing.
