  1. The AMD processors are out of stop, what about going with Intel CPU BX8070110100F Core i3-10100F? What motherboard would go good with that?
  2. Sorry about the late reply, if I were to add another $150 for a better CPU which one would in your opinion be the best option? So I can keep it a lot longer before another CPU upgrade. I was considering the Ryzen 5 3600xt submit reply
  3. UPDATE: I use some canned air to blowout the fan which seemed to help a lot. I'm going to build a new computer that's going to be quiet and not produce a lot of heat. Submit
  4. Well I can't get a different CPU cooler because I'm using an Intel. NUC, it still does it during day but I'm going to check Windows defender to make sure that's not it. I did close everything in the more arrow on the taskbar. I've disabled the active hours but it still happens
  5. I'm having trouble with my Windows 10 where at night I keep my computer on and it will be quiet for about 5-10 minutes, and then the CPU fan will start ramping up and make it real loud for a few minutes and then go back to normal. I've shut down every program in my taskbar, but nothing helped. I've checked in the task management at the CPU usage but did not find anything wrong. What program can I use to track this behavior and find out why it's doing this because it's getting real annoying. Submit
  6. One thing I can say Ron is pulled my current DDR4 memory from my NUC and of my SSD. I was looking at trying to find the smallest case for all that, like I said it needs to be quiet and produce a minimal heat output.
  7. "Budget (including currency): $500 Country: USA Games, programs or workloads that it will be used for: voice controls, X-COM 2,Sniper Elite, GTA 5 Other details (existing parts lists, whether any peripherals are needed, what you're upgrading from, when you're Here going to buy, what resolution and refresh rate you want to play at, etc): Since I'm a quadriplegic I use a lot a voice control, which I'm using right now to type this out, Dragon Professional Individual, Knowbrainer, Speechstart, Dragoncapture. It doesn't have enough graphics power to play pretty much any new games, I do play a lot of Civilizations IV BTS. Here is my current mini-PC which involves an Intel NUC 7 (NUC7i7BNH) - Core i7 (Amazon) 16 GB DDR 4, 256 GB SSD, Specter 20" 1080P monitor. This one won't run hardly anything gaming wise and acts like a small heater, I'm wanting something that is going to be quiet and not let out a lot of heat Now I have 2 different choices to choose from that I have an idea about. The first one is with the Minisforum EliteMini H31G with the 1050ti graphics built-in or the one listed here built from PC part picker PCPartPicker Part List CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 3.4 GHz 6-Core Processor ($148.00 @ Amazon) Motherboard: Asus ROG Strix B450-I Gaming Mini ITX AM4 Motherboard ($159.99 @ Amazon) Memory: Team T-FORCE VULCAN Z 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) DDR4-3200 CL16 Memory ($57.99 @ Amazon) Video Card: Asus GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER 4 GB Phoenix OC Video Card ($168.98 @ Newegg) Case: Cooler Master Elite 110 Mini ITX Tower Case Power Supply: EVGA 400 W ATX Power Supply ($36.49 @ Staples) Total: $571.45 Prices include shipping, taxes, and discounts when available Generated by PCPartPicker 2020-10-26 18:29 EDT-0400 Although this is a lot more however I put the same components all in Newegg and the price came out to $471. Although I didn't factor in for the case fans. So tell me what you think, it has to be small that's why I opted for the GTX 1650 and the Cooler Master Case.
  8. that's actually a bit too much of what he's looking for! Great machine though, I'm actually looking for something that is around the $300. Always doing is just ordering parts and keeping track of the invoices, that's pretty much it bare basics.
  9. yes I've had a lot of problems with Acer products always breaking. I'll look into the Dell and HP, any suggestions on software besides Windows 10 which is a given.
  10. My neighbor has started up a lawnmower small engine and tractor repair service and he's wanting a laptop that would keep track of the customers and invoices. So if a customer comes back a couple months later about a part, he can pull up their name and invoice. He orders all his parts online, so it does not need to be extravagant just the basic cheapest as possible, but reliable. besides QuickBooks I'll have to look up what other software would do that for free, or relatively $$. thanks Cripp
  11. I could do that however the IDE drive shows up as RAW and I tried twice to get the data off only to have the new 2TB show up as RAW after recovery
  12. I tried that and that did not work, Doing the same thing
  13. Okay here's what's happened, I have a Maxtor 320GB IDE hard drive that kept disappearing from Windows Explorer. So I was thinking it was something with the drive. So I needed to get everything off, so I bought a 2TB. I took the drive out of the computer and placed it in my hard drive doc along with the 2TB. I formatted the 2TB with NTFS, I'm using Windows 10 Home, and I used Active File Recovery to create an image of my Maxtor drive. It created the image with no problems, and then restored just a few directories that I will really needed and checked in Windows Explorer and everything was there. After a restart I went to access the new drive, and it was not there. It was marked as RAW! So I tried it again and it did the same thing. Whenever I would scan the drive the first time it showed Data (2) and then the next time I did it showed Data (3). I just tried to copy the documents and genealogy folder but they were not showing up as folders. I Put the 2TB in the PC and it was doing the same thing for one time it would show up, then next time it wouldn't. Could that be a power supply problem or a motherboard problem. I'm at the point that I don't want to do anything with it right now because I do not want to damage anything on the drive. I know things canafter still be recovered, what software should I use or should I send it to a data recovery? I have My Documents, which has all my pictures, etc. and genealogy folder with its own pictures. Who can help me out?
  14. Hi guys! I've been scouring the Internet trying to find a solution for a problem that I'm having one I'm using a keyboard because I'm a quadriplegic I can only hit one key at a time. So when I'm working in something like DOS, or a machine that does not have Windows installed on it, I cannot hit the control, alt or shift key and press another key by itself. Just imagine trying to type with one finger and see how far you get without the ease of access keys! I'm looking for a USB dongle that I could program the "sticky keys" onto it so I could use it with any keyboard. Or another option is to make a keyboard that has that built into it like the caps lock key. Can this be done?
