Actually you can fix bent socket pins with using precision tools and having quite steady hands. This awesome guy over at DIY Perks has done this video showing how to straighten bent CPU socket pins.

I have premium for my BF3 and I had more pleasure playing the game with additional game modes and such. It's your choice if you really want those extra DLC's and such then go for it

Yes those "kids" exist, at the school I go atleast. I brought my previous Samsung notebook quite a lot of times to my school and I had the AMD Radeon HD 7990 as my logon screen and several students asked me if I must be one genius Windows hacker to do that, I took it as a nice complement

Which Envy model are we talking about exactly? Have you uninstalled all of the bloatware on your laptop? Maybe run Crystal Disk Info and see if the hard drive status is: okay or good, otherwise the hard drive might be faulty and causing this poor performance.

Ehh, the OP asked for a GPU that's recommended for this exact CPU, the Intel Core 2 Quad Q8300 and not criticizing him using "ancient" systems and such. My vote goes to the R7 265, it isn't that much expensive over the GTX 750Ti, it's a bit more powerful with the con that it may use more power but that 550 watt PSU should handle it without much of hiccups. If power consumption and money is the factor then consider the GTX 750Ti. It's cheaper, efficient and powerful (for it's category).
