SupersonicSaint reacted to flo_306 in How Wide is a Graphics Card?
this should be pretty obvious but let me explain it to you.

As far as i know the measuremts are taken like that: lenght x widht x height. And the lenght of the PCI-E slot and aluminium shield at the back are not measured sincethey are the same for most gpu's

meaning this card is 26,7 cm long, 12cm wide (u could say that the width is the left red bar), and 5cm "tall" if u get what i mean.

1080p to 1440p is easier to do than 1440p to 4k. My 1070ti runs most games on high at 1440p with games like Forza Horizon 4 and Rocket League getting 100+ FPS on my 144hz display.

Your board is good. the only benefit of B550/X570 is PCIe Gen 4, which currently doesn't have a performance benefit for GPUs
You could even probably get Zen 3 on your current motherboard.

SupersonicSaint reacted to sparrrk in 5400rpm too slow for gaming?
Well, 5400 RPM may not be enough. I had one in my old laptop and GTA V was running with some lags. After doing some googling, it turned out that these issues are related to the slow disk. To be honest that laptop was not meant to be used to play GTA V, however its specs passed minimum requirements, so I decided to give it a shot.
I would really recommend going with a 7200 RPM drive, or use SSD you currently have (if that's possible, of course).

I have 2x8gb DDR4-3000mhz cl16 RAM sticks on an MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon AC (only supports up to 3200mhz), thanks for this video. I also want to do 3D modelling on Solidworks and Zbrush for university use.

This is the most in depth answer... I have ever received on ANYTHING.

    Thank you.

I know it is not what you meant but can your OS track what you are typing (yes) and share that to sources that identify your activity no matter what OS you use? (unsure)

It seems the best solution is to continue to use Windows as it easily supports most applications then booting up Tails so that everybody and the Pope doesn't see my BDSM playlist or me watching a man dance on top of the president ? So long as I don't log into or type anything about myself.

Can I, and if so, download files onto Tails as it's from two USB sticks? I assume the larger the USBs the better but which USB would the files even be installed on! Or will it just save to Window's and I will just have to use Veracrypt (bloody new UK porn ban ?)

Is it okay to use Tails on my existing gaming machine (PLUG! https://pcpartpicker.com/b/TCKBD3) or do I... have to buy a laptop and use it on that to keep it seperate? If so PRIVACY IS NOT CHEAP! O-0

FYI it makes no sense how a laptop can cost vastly more than a console of similar performance.

    Thanks again ~

This is my first PC build coming from purely console gaming and most recently the PS4. In all, this build was successful and I learnt a lot through the process as before I had no practical experience. It follows a black and white hardware theme with multi-colour RGB done right. Images bellow.

    Motherboard
The BIOS it comes with is the most recent, wow, and it's specs and hardware beats most, if not all of the X470 motherboards I have seen. The overclocking potential is as good as the Carbon card looks. Sensational.

    PSU
With such high wattage, a Gold 80+ rating, braided cables and an Eco mode, this PSU performs excellently yet sounds like... well nothing seeing it is yet to spin its fan. Installation was easy as it should be but man is it heavy.

    CPU
The AMD Ryzen 5 2600 is a great multi core CPU that handles tasks with a breeze. I have successfully overclocked the CPU to 4.025 Ghz from 3.4Ghz and it is running stable.

    CPU Cooler
Antec's Mercury 360 is a mixed bag. Installation to the CPU isn't what I would call the best and the manual is lacking but in the end I got it massively on sale, everything fits fine and it looks wonderfully, especially with the neon blue fans. However please note the temperature monitoring LED won't leave blue even in stress tests so if yours leaves blue then your CPU is on fire. Put it out.

    Memory
This memory kit looks stunning, matching the black and white build. With a simple RGB software, customisation is easy, though if the software is not running in the background the lights on each RAM stick wont sync. I have overclocked the memory to 3200 Mhz.

    Video Card
Gigabyte - GeForce GTX 1070 Ti 8GB Video Card Gigabyte's 1070 Ti OC edition is superb. I have boosted it in the BIOS and yet the fans barely spin (or don't at all) though there are 3 in case they are needed. The styling is clean and of high quality though the Fan Stop LED is obscured by the power connector unfortunately.

    Case
Lian-Li - PC-O11DW ATX Full Tower Case I might as well call it God's gift for top gamers as this is the most beautiful, faultless, unique and high quality piece of craftsmanship I have laid eyes on, PERIOD. Taking it apart is a piece of cake, superb cable management, all glass and metal construction and filters everywhere. I'm in love.

    Storage
With a 1tb SSD and a super fast HDD I have plenty of storage. The SSD holds my OS and games and the HDD houses all other content. A pair made in heaven.

    Operating System
Windows is Windows. It worked fine and I got it off eBay for cheap.

    Monitor
1440p, 75hz, all metal and sleek build DAMN is it good to look at. At 32 inches it really brings games and design work to life utilising top end colours saturation. No dead pixels, just perfection. Its incredibly heavy but to me that just means it's well built.

    SPEAKERS
Ignore the price tag as these sound better than my friends £359 sound bar at a fraction of the price. Hefty, quite literally ground shaking bass that even the neighbours could feel and hear. They told me turn it down... >< But hey! Blue LED that responds to the beat! (Wish you could turn it off too)

    CASE FANS
The only part of the PC I can hear haha. They are not what you would call quite but this is an overclocking case and isn't supposed to be silent anyway. With an RGB controller to customise everything it shines like a dazzling star, pushing at maximum speed all the time... yh lol.

    GAMING MOUSE
All metal with many short keys and adjustable weight, filled with RGB and easy change DPI with braided wiring, this mouse is special cough in the good way.

    GAMING MAT
Fate anime series design, let my anime nerdyness leak through.

No that's the ATX version of the MSI B450M Bazooka Plus which you listed as one you are deciding on getting, it isn't the one I showed you. The Tomahawk and the Bazooka Plus are made the same apart from the board size. The video shows that the Bazooka Plus/Tomahawk which you are willing to get is the most recommended B450 board lol.

SupersonicSaint got a reaction from Alexokratis in Any point in a second pc?
You can use it to play games from Steam using the power of your main powerful PC wirelessly. If you make a cheap Micro ATX PC, you have essentially made another console.

It can be a guest PC also, you can use it to run Linux or private tasks, stream consoles, Cryptocurrency mining, you may split one for work using an AMD CPU and one for gaming using an Intel CPU, you can use it to contribute to AI by running automatic calculations, you can simply use it in another room such as 1 in the study and one in your room.

If you live in 2 locations it can be beneficial as you can leave one in each location, you may use it to install sketchy software to test before safely transferring to your main PC. There are plenty more applications you can use it for.

That is not what you should worry about. Any quality case won't discolour. It discolours as much as a plastic food container you never put food in. Basically no change whatsoever. Only worry if you are blasting UV light on it or having a pool party on it ^^

Yeah, if you aren't purely ?% doing gaming then Ryzen but if all you do is game then Intel. Barely anyone just uses a PC as a pure games console only so Ryzen wins.

amd apus ar accelerated proccessing units, as ryzen vega apus take ram memory for graphical operations. The only thing different is ryzen vega apus limits the core usages, for instance if it has total 8 cores, 2 of them are dedicated for graphical operations and how much of your ram memory you are spending for it. As higher the memory size dedicated for graphical operations the faster the integrated gpu will perform.
