  1. Someone posted this in another thread I read and it was marked as an answer for that thread. "I had a similar issue with my Acer. Unplug it and let the battery run dry. It will switch off. After that you plug it in and start it anew." Gonna try it over night or until the power light turns off and will see what happens.
  2. I have the same problem with a Dell XPS 15. The power button light is always on (except for when I unplug the battery), but the laptop shows no sign of life. Looking everywhere for a fix. I'm beginning to think the battery is fried but I want to make sure that is the main cause of the problem before spending money on a new battery being that Dell's customer service sucks and it's out of warranty anyway. Mine was overheated, possibly ruining something, and you plugged in a faulty usb device likely ruining the same thing (possibly the battery). I see its been over a week since you posted this, so could you please let me know if you found any solution, and I will do the same if I find anything. Edit: maybe the combination of stuck in sleep mode and a fried battery? Also, the charging light under the trackpad on the front never turns on when plugged in which always turns on when the laptop is charging.
  3. So I have a Dell XPS 15 laptop that I use while in class at college (so it's pretty important) and it will not turn on. It will not turn on at all, as in no fans or hdd start spinning and no sounds can be heard. The power button light is always on as long as the power supply is plugged in or, if the power supply is unplugged the power button light will stay on as long as the laptop is plugged into the charger. Does this sound like a dead battery or a bigger issue than that like a motherboard issue? There are no visible issues on the motherboard or around chips or anything like that. I put the laptop aside after normal use, and two days later the problem started. I have tried holding the power button for 60 seconds, holding it with the power supply unplugged then plugging it back in and no change. If you have any insight on this please let me know! Thank you very much.
  4. For the past few weeks, my computer has been randomly freezing every few minutes. All programs including the operating system freeze but my mouse is still mobile. I have re-installed all drivers and regularly do windows updates. I am thinking about re-installing the OS, which is Windows 7 Home Premium, but I am not entirely sure I have to. I also regularly scan my pc with CCleaner, Advanced Systemcare Ultimate 7, and Webroot. Although you may think these programs would be fighting against eachother, only Webroot does automatic detections and scans. The other programs only detect stuff when i scan with them. I have these programs on another computer I own but there are no problems on that one so that is not the problem. Also, the temperatures of the components are around the correct area and all components act correctly in stress tests. Could anyone please help me? I am out of ideas on ways to fix this problem.
  5. No. All of the components are staying nice and cool
  6. For the past week, I have had a problem with low frame rate and lag on my computer. Also, I have had some random freezes on my pc no matter what I am doing. So far, I have uninstalled and re-installed my drivers, but that didn't work. I don't know what else to do. Could someone please help me? By the way, I have an amd radeon hd 7870 gpu and an amd fx 4300 quad-core cpu.
