  1. Thanks also one more question assuming that thunderbolt / usb would be fast enough could I have a 256 gb nvme drive in my nuc for the OS and a few key programs and keep the rest on an external hdd array? Then I could use the nvme to accelerate the array
  2. Thanks I looked at nvmes which theorethically would help with load times and maybe with my VMs (if I moved them from my skull canyon ) , but not sure tbh
  3. Hey I'd like to buy a Hades Canyon NUC but I'm clueless about what sort of storage will I need / is recommended for it , it takes only m.2 SSDS and I'm not sure what's recommended for an average gamer
  4. Yes that's what I'm doing upgrading from a semi old skull canyon to a Hades Canyon HVK
  5. Yes but wasn't black ops 4 released ore than a decade after quake? We're talking like a 2.5 years tech gap at most , also where was that specification posted ?
  6. So if a vega 56/gtx 1070 will be required and I still want the NUC could I use a tb3 egpu when playing f76 and the dgpu when I'm at work/in the living room playing light games?
  7. I honestly hope that Intel's gpus will have good Linux support , and that next generations of NUCs (I'm a huge NUC shill ) will have intel gpus capable of gaming .
  8. Hi I'd like to get a Hades Canyon NUC 8809G right now , but I'm not sure if I will be able to fallout 76 , have any requirements been announced yet ?
  9. Thanks also the vega M should be able to do 1080p high/ultra (not fully maxed) at 60 fps right ?
  10. Hey I'd like to get the new Hades Canyon system to replace my ps 4 pro (I'm a console peasant ) , in synthethics the NUC seems on par with a 1060 max q beating it in some areas , but in actual games it gets beaten by about 10-15% , why is that ?
  11. Hey I'd like to get a small portable linux machine that can run games decently at 1080p60 (40-50 is fine too since I'll use freesync ) high/ultra (I'm fine with not everything maxed out though ) , that can run KDE NEON , can do some CAD work and also can be good for light virtualisation .The new Hades Canyon NUC 8809G (the higher end model ) caught my eye as it checks out all the boxes , heck it even can run an egpu via tb3 , however I'm not sure about a few things 1.Linux egpu support(how are egpus in Linux?) 2.Whether the NUC can hit that target 40-50 fps preferably 60 with an overclock on high/ultra in 1080p in modern games (the 8809G one) 3.What sort of ssd and ram will I need (I know I need atleast 500gb of mass storage combined with 16 gb of ram ) not quite sure about what sort of ram will I need though 4.Can usb 3.1/thunderbolt 3 be used to add hard drives to my NUC ? 5.How's Intel's build quality in those systems ?
