It's not just this, it's that there's power in numbers. How much power does one replaceable employee really have? Not much. If I went into my boss's office and told him that if my work conditions didn't improve, I'd strike, he'd fire me. End of story. Together, we have the power to make them actually listen and evoke change because, collectively, we can impact the bottom line. I do not like having my paycheck docked every week, but the amount I make more in yearly wages, benefits, and my improved work conditions are more than enough. Unions are labor power, and now that I've worked in one for the last decade, I wouldn't want to go without if I could help it. 
 
The person you're replying to is being disingenuous with his snide remark. Unless he is that unicorn employee who is literally irreplaceable, the chances are he is just anti-union in general.

It wasn't about getting different numbers due to something innocent like differences in silicon quality, it was about egregious errors which weren't caught by LMG.

Every time Linus talks about this now, he's basically justifying his own growing incompetence.
 
And it gets funnier and funnier (or worse and worse) because the excuses he keeps giving from his unrepentant high stool are exactly the problems he needs to address. 
 
Linus strikes me as someone who hasn't had to deal with high levels of responsibility before. His constant desire to simply get it over with doesn't help, and is helping him dig a deeper and deeper hole, and he clearly doesn't realize that.

I've been in TV news for over a decade. No, it is not "normal" or even acceptable to flash asterisks and corrections on-screen.
 
If your script is wrong, you rewrite it.
If your graphic is wrong, you fix it.
If your VO is wrong, you re-record it.
If your entire story is wrong, you retract it.

Especially true in the case of YouTube where people might be listening to the video in the background or playing its audio in the car. I routinely listen to longform reviews in the car and there sure as shit isn't any way for me to HEAR a text correction flashed on screen for 1.5 seconds.

If it is a small channel so small that it doesn't have a view count to meet monetization, I'd give them a pass for not spending USD 500 to retest.

Dude landed in a really good spot. He has employees who actually care about their job. Just let them do their job. His wife said they aren't struggling for money and she'd know if money was tight.

Also to sum up, let LMG employees unionize. That is clearly the solution here.

It's not his job to decide that. It's his job as a reviewer to give the product every chance it can to succeed and to provide us with impartial data to make our own decisions.
 
Some people buy $1,000 keyboards because the keys make a certain sound that they like, some people spent $2500 on a 4090 at the peak of COVID pricing because they want the best performance no matter what, and some people build insane multi thousand dollar custom watercooling setups in modded mini ITX cases because they want to extract every possible degree of performance out of their computer in the smallest possible size.
 
It's LTT's job to give the viewer objective data regardless of what he thinks of the product's value proposition.
 
Try Googling "billet labs review" and you'll find that it's literally impossible to actually get a review on their waterblock at this point because of this entire dumpster fire.
 
I don't care if the product is insanely priced, i don't care if it's over engineered, and i think it's disgusting, disingenuous, and honestly pathetic child-like behaviour for Linus to essentially say that regardless of the performance, it's a dumb product. I'm sorry WHAT? For a channel that has videos on watercooling servers with a POOL and reviews of PETABYTE SERVERS, Linus of all people should understand that there are those who are willing to pay for the bleeding edge of technology. If this waterblock was 20c cooler than the next best watercooling block on the market would it still be dumb because it's priced at US$800?
 
Long story short, a reviewer (in the case of performance testing) is meant to provide impartial data and allow the viewer to form their own opinion on the product. It's not Linus' job to decide that a product is dumb and therefore sandbagging it by installing it on the wrong GPU and proclaiming it's stupid is suddenly OK.

Look, I am a massive fan of LTT and have been since ncix days years before lmg. Been watching almost all of his videos as they come out since 2009.
 
Don't make up shit and conspiracies to defend LMG. Fans have been complaining for the last couple of years about bad data making it into the videos. This humbling moment for them and the upcoming change in SOPs will only improve the quality of lmg videos going forward.

There is a large portion of their form who activly dislike lmg videos because of the inaccuracies. I don’t understand why they hang out here with those views, however, this is a way to bring them back in as viewers to build their trust back.

AFAIK, Linus and LMG DID NOT DMCA that video, the actions of Fullscreen or even a automated system run by YouTube should not be LMGs responsibility.
 
Kyle's case is VOX MANUALLY DMCA the videos, which makes VOX the OWNER of the verge at fault.
 
This case is Fullscreen or a automated system flagging the video, this would make Fullscreen a PARTNER to LMG at fault (or YouTube)

The water mark is really the only big thing. Paying $100+ for the OS is, imo, something I would rather not deal with. All my Windows keys, with the exception of a Windows 7->10 upgrade have all been from Grey Market sources.  

You don't even have to do that. You get limited in some features after that period, but tbh it is still usable. MS would rather Windows 10 be free so they could get that sweet sweet telemetry from everyone.

B350 boards are overclockable?

Two slot ATX and mATX boards are cheaper still, but that should go without saying. and as previously mentioned mITX boards dont have 4 RAM slots (unless you get a really high end one, then maybe)
