  1. I didn't mean it in a negative way haha. Although charts and graphs are nice, I value personal experiences too!
  2. Seems like the general consensus is that an upgrade to the I7 4770K would reliably keep up with the GTX 1080 like performance GPUs (that is if i wait for the next generation GPUs and go with like an GTX 1170 for example whenever that comes around...)
  3. I do not have the GTX 1080 right now - I was thinking of buying it as it is on sale. I currently get 100-120 on High, antialiasing off with my R9 290
  4. There's nothing wrong per say with my GPU, but i am not getting a constant 144 fps on the games that i play. I get between 100-120 fps in Siege and would love to hit the 144 constant mark.
  5. Surprisingly, the GTX 1080 is on sale and is $50 cheaper than the 1070 TI!!
  6. Hello all, My current system has an I5 4670K overclocked to 4.4Ghz. I currently game on 1080P @ 144hz. Seeing as how GPU pricing is significantly lowering, I was thinking of upgrading from my R9 290 to a GTX 1080 for relatively cheap. Would my I5 4670K be able to keep up with the GTX 1080 in the games shown below? Similarly, will an I7 4770k be able to keep up if the I5 is insufficient? (I would definitely not prefer to upgrade my whole platform as I can upgrade to the I7 4770K for like $100.. versus shelling out $700+ CAD for the an 8700K, mobo and ram.) TC - Rainbow Six Siege Diablo 3 Destiny 2 Battlefield 1 Thanks in advance
  7. @Taf the Ghost - I already have an ASUS VG248QE 144 Hz monitor so will be looking to upgrade the main rig. @bmichaels556 - Yeah I am in no rush to upgrade as I am moderately satisfied with my computer. I guess the better question would be "Have I waited a long enough generation gap that the performance gain of upgrading the CPU/GPU justifies the cost?" (With the constant being the same amount of money would be allocated to either the new GPU or CPU/MOBO)
  8. Hi guys, I am looking for suggestions on what to upgrade first. See below for my current PC spec and potential upgrades below: CPU: Intel Core i5 4670K (Upgrade to Intel Core i5 8600K) GPU: Gigabyte Windforce R9 290 (Upgrade to Nvidia GTX 1070) Although I am currently satisfied with my current set up, I am always looking at pricing on hardware to see if I can snag a deal for an upgrade. I know the answer could depend on the type of games/work that I would be doing on my computer. Just to give you an idea of the type of games that I play: Rainbow Six: Siege Battlefield 1 CS: GO Destiny 2 I believe that I play a range of games that rely on both pieces of hardware. So I was wondering if anybody who is a little more versed in hardware would know which upgrade would yield the most performance gain. Much appreciated.
