I just recieved a Tesla live notification, and I just said... oh no another creator have been hacked.

I find it extremely offensive that Channel Super Fun has been completely ignored by the cyber criminals. I find it hard to believe that they have not gained access to it with the same credentials as the rest.

So when will the bitcoins be refunded?

Thanks for the concern everyone. We are still in recovery mode over here and working with YouTube to get everything restored. Will hopefully have a video (or at least an update on WAN Show) to share with you all ASAP, but we want to make sure we get the details right since smaller channels may rely on our experience to help harden their own security.

I do hope they don’t use the term “hacked” and instead call it cybercrime or something that it actually is.

It's all good. YouTube has really good procedures for reversing this type of thing and Linus is aware.

Even if LMG didn’t backup everything, Youtube lies when they say deleted content cannot be recovered.

It even hit a big Tech news site in the Netherlands

I was like : "Whut?" when suddenly a video with linus' face as thumbnail with channel name : "LinusTechTipsTemp" shows up on my notification.
Guess after quite awhile it was changed to Tesla.

Basically these people only care about a quick and dirty job. They want as little effort as possible and are never going to care about minor details that real victims wouldn’t notice anyway.
 
I very highly doubt there was any actual hacking involved at all.
 
 

Yeah, I'd assume it's due to the increased backend load, and as such is likely the reason why the forum was "down" temporarily earlier.
