  1. Thank you for the answer. I've tested both ram sticks solo in slot 2 and 4 (A2/B2) but it did not solve the problem. I also switched out the GPU without any luck. So could it be that the CPU or Motherboard is just broken at this point?
  2. Hi i've build a new system with the following specs: Motherboard: ASRock B450 Pro4 (UEFI v3.50) CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700x Boxed GPU: 8GB Gigabyte GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER Windforce OC RAM: 16GB G.Skill RipJaws V DDR4-3200 DIMM CL16 Dual Kit (F4-3200C16D-16GVKB) PSU: 600 Watt be quiet! Pure Power 11 CM Modular 80+ Gold SSD: 250GB Kingston SA2000M8/250G M.2 2280 PCIe 3.0 x4 NVMe 3D-NAND TLC (SA2000M8/250G) This is not my first build but i didn't work with an AMD CPU since the old thunderbird days. My problem now is that i can't manage to install any OS on this system because Windows 10 Pro crashes after the first few steps when it starts preparing files or even before that. And Ubuntu and Kali Linux crash while booting up from the Live-CD even in failsave mode. When the system crashes it does not restart. The monitor just does not get a signal anymore and the CPU cooler sounds like its stuck in a 2 second loop where i can hear it spin up and down a bit. The only thing i get to boot is the ultimate boot CD, so i ran a few hardware tests like memtest86+ but everything seems to work. I've replaced the thermalpaste on the AMD Prism Wraith Cooler and tryed another SSD/HDD and XMP Profile on and off and also CMOS reset. Now i don't really know what to try next. It would be great if someone could help me of has any suggestion for what i could do.
  3. Short conclusion is: if you don't have a blower style GPU front mounting is a bit better.
  4. Update: I think i have found the problem! It seems to be a bug in MSI afterburner which i used to observe my temperatures. If i look at HWMotior, Aida64 or even SpeedFan normal temps around 40°C are shown while afterburner says the CPU temps are ~70°C. I have no idea where afterburner gets this temperature from but i can't find this temperature readouts anywhere in those other programs. So i think its some kind of ghost readout because i trust HWMonitor or Aida way more. Thanks for your help guys, it looks like it was my fault to not check multiple sources to confirm my temperature readouts.
  5. So you guys think its an air bubble issue? I don't really know how the EK Phoenix pump behaves and if it changes speed at all. Sadly i can't controll the pump direcly or readout the speed. I've plugged it into the CPU header and it shows up just like a normal fan. So i'll try to run it at 100% fan speed for a while and hopefully the pump will ramp up as well.
  6. Yes the BIOS is up to date Yes the BIOS is up to date and i never saw anything like this with my aircooler. As i said in my post, the CPU load does not change while the temperature spikes, and i have higher temperatures on full load if i start a stresstest whithin this spiking periodes. So its definetly less cooled while that happens. Also shaking the system doesn't do anything to it. The reservoir on this system is very small and i guess if there is too much air maybe its not big enough to hold all of it. But on the other hand i can't head any air moving through the system as i would when the bubble moves away from the CPU right?
  7. A month ago i puchased a EK Phoenix LQ system with a 280 radiator to cool my CPU and GPU and at the beginning everything looks fine and i got ~40°C for both the CPU and GPU at idle. The last few days i noticed that the CPU temp sometimes suddenly rises to ~65°C at idle without any change at CPU/GPU load and without me doing anything special on my system. My first guess was that i had an air bubble in the loop that sometimes got stuck in the CPU block but shaking the case to get the air moving seems not to do anything and i also don't see any weird temp changes like this on my GPU. The temperature change on the CPU happens nearly instantly and can last about a minute up to 10-15 minutes as far as i could see. When the temps get back to normal it sometimes happens instantly too, and sometimes it goes half the way down to ~55°C for 1-2 minutes and then back to normal. I'm new to liquid cooling and this seems very strange behavior to me. Does anyone has any suggestions what can cause this? P.S.: I'm also afraid to open the loop and topoff the liquid to get rid of any air, because i guess that could contaminate the loop and i have chosen the EK Phoenix because its maintenance free and i want to keep it that way. If anyone can tell me if i'm wrong about that it would be very helpfull as well.
  8. Maintenance is my issue with custom loops, not with AiOs.
  9. Thanks for the help everyone! I just took the step into liquid cooling. Wish me luck! And if the time comes to upgrade my system.. EK will hopefully still support this series. (I hope the 280 Radiator and the 2 fans for extra case airflow will be enought for my i7 6700k and gtx 1080 with OCs)
  10. No i mean prefilled components with disconnects, so you can add blocks, radiators etc. to the loop and expand it over time.
  11. Hey Guys, i'm about to get into liquid cooling for the first time. Until now i have keept my distance to the topic because of the heavy maintainance cost of custom cooling and the inflexibility of complete AiO cooling. After a bit of research i endet up on modular AiO solutions with quick-disconnects. Now the problem is that i could only find 2 modular AiO products. One from Alphacool (Eisbaer-/Eiswolf-series) and another one from EKWB (EK-MLC Phoenix). The reviews of these products on youtube are about 1 year old but it seems they both have partialy reached end of life very quick. I'm unable to get the right block for my graphicscard from Alphacool (EoL) or an 360 Radiator from EKWB (Preditor 360 EoL, could not find any other compatible 360s). And maybe i'm just blind, but it seems nobody else has come up with a modular AiO system in the past year. I really like this beginner concept to liquid cooling but it seems to me there is not much in the market. Is this concept already dead and i missed it?
  12. Thank you very much for your help guys. This seems to be exactly what i was looking for.
  13. Hey guys, i want to add a liquid cooler to my CPU. I'm looking to get a AiO solution so i don't have to refill or clean it. The problem is that my case (whitch i love and definetly want to keep) is a little bit short on room on the top side where i want to put my radiator with the fans. A solution for that problem would be to mount the radiator outside on the top of the case and the fans on the inside. Blowing air out to the top and through the radiator. I have two holes on the top back of my case to put the hoses through but to do that i have to detach them from the pump or radiator. There are some AiOs out there whitch have a quick-lock closure on one of the hoses for upgradability like these but i cant find any where i have quick-lock closures on both of them. I guess it must be possible because i found this AiO for RTX cards whitch has two quick-lock closures. So if anyone knows a AiO liquid cooling solution for CPUs, preferable with a 240 radiator (280 would also work), it would really helped me. I would also be interested in any other idea how i can resolve my problem if i can't find such an AiO. Please keep in mind that i don't want to switch to another casing nor do i want to build a custom cooling. Thanks for any answers! Cheers P.S.: Please forgive me for my english if i had made any mistakes, it's not my first language
  14. What about other manufacturers like intenso or toshiba? Are they all crap?
