Literally if you could have said anything you actually knew about, or just told me to check out novec and said its a dumb idea would have been perfectly acceptable. But seriously use your brain. Nobody said it couldn't be annoying or kill parts. I don't want anyone to tell me that I'm smart I would just appreciate a genuine opinion on the general layout of a system described in my op. But really, look into cascade refrigeration systems, and expansion valves. I'll link you two videos. All I'm asking is that if you comment you don't just say "It can't be done", anything can be done, the question is not if its possible. The question right now is also not how practical it is, because as you can guess, it couldn't be very practical at all. The question right now, is just, how would you TRY to set it up, and can you draw me a diagram? If you feel like I should modify my original post let me know.

Comments like this don’t use brains. Look into cascade refrigeration systems. You can have an evaporator chamber as large as you want, as long as your compressor is up to par to the sizing you’re using. The question isn’t how annoying would it be or who wants to deal with it. If you read the OP and just decide “no” then just don’t comment.

I’m not actually drinking but this idea is as silly as it is impractical, but what if your pc: was immersion cooled with two phase liquid while contained INSIDE of the evaporator side of a refrigeration system using air conditioner/freezer parts to make the rest of the loop, how do you do it? Dont you be coy, a simple diagram of what you think works will suffice, and will release the lock on the shotgun collar I’ve attached to you. The game has begun.

fuck this guy use a 50mm and mount it to the back of your screen try this one https://modmymods.com/alphacool-nexxxos-xt45-full-copper-50mm-single-radiator-14221.html

That'll suck eggs. The two things I was looking at trying were 100% copper water blocks, and this. It has space for four heat pipes, if they were refrigerant pipe, it may work for my purposes, and I could just add another pass-through instead of a loop around if I needed additional cooling? But like I said I'm just starting to get into this stuff, and all of my knowledge on the topic is self research.

This is all well and good, and beyond understood. But I think explaining my reasoning for wanting to do this would be long winded and a definite thread derailment. I'll level with you though I want to play with both and I'm very much aware of that chiller, I just don't want a ready made solution. The fun for me is going to be putting everything together and making it functionally work. The plan in general is to build a cluster and immerse it in oil (possibly chilled like with the koolance chiller you mentioned), and have a much more powerful, overclocked (direct die active phase change) system to act as the mother node, most likely housed separately. Reasoning for this would also be long winded and lead to a definite thread derailment, I just hope it goes without saying that I wouldn't be playing any games on it. I don't want to work with anything pre-built, because I want to hack together my own fan/hvac controllers and do all of my own wiring. The money saved on purchasing individual parts and giving life to frankenstein, will slightly cure my ocd about the other problems I'm going to encounter. But yeah! CPU evaporator dies, gonna want one for sure, and I'll be very clear, it is just something that I personally want to do.

Sounds like a good plan, I look forward to your build thread! ?

what the hell is polarbox by QuantaCool?? Calyos Clone
kohh replied to kohh's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
I have no idea. They may not be able to outsell companies that provide immersion cooling for large datacenters. It sounds like they also sell systems for direct refrigeration (active phase change), although they're extremely unclear about it. -
Sorry dude I'm just getting into this phase change stuff, and as far as I was aware they were all called evaporator heads or cold plates. Please inform me. I already looked at some of the quanta cool stuff but I made a completely separate post about that in this topic, but I'm talking about active phase change with an HVAC system (Compressor, condenser, evaporator). So far I've only found a couple & I'm assuming its because my resources are short. I've seen a couple complete solutions but this is not what I'm looking for, I wish to build my own. Want is all there is to do with it I don't need to be led away from wasting my money. I simply want to make sure that whatever I end up uses works, ghetto solutions are always invited, so long as you can give me something to look at for it (a picture or a link <3).

In my search for unrelated computer parts I stumbled across this website. I understand what this is but the website looks poorly put together and I cant find any reference to this product anywhere else on the internet. It also looks sketchy when you go to "purchase" their product and doesn't exactly tell you what you're buying once you get to that page. Does anyone have any sauce?

You can try a rotary tool, some are as cheap as 20$ although just soldering should be fine as I mentioned before. Definitely post your results. Are you planning on making copper hardlines for the entire build or are you going to also use soft hose?

I don't think you will ever get a full size waterblock into your laptop. However, the block solution you mentioned here: This should work, as long as your copper plates have a couple millimeters thickness to them. it would help if they were routed for the aluminum tubes that you're using. It should be noted as well that you're most likely going to be dealing with a heat pipe sized tube. If these options don't work you can try raspberry pi watercooling parts from modmymods here. They seem very well suited to your application. There is also a number of products specifically available for your application on aliexpress, you can find a complete kit here.

Custom 20 dollar loop high temp issues.
kohh replied to Kruelism's topic in Custom Loop and Exotic Cooling
It does sound like a flow issue. Maybe try a cooler with more heat pipes. Although at that point you might as well just give in and get a block from alibaba or ebay. You don't have to get a nice $5 one that has the proper socket mounts or anything. You can still just get the $0.85 ones that people use with their peltier chips. -
I was just wondering if anyone here knew of any readily made evaporator heads for phase change cooling. I have found maybe two options, only one is clearly a complete unit. I want to build my own system and am not opposed to building my own evaporator head, but I would like to see if there are any that I could just buy. please and thanks <3
