  1. Definitely aluminium. I want a unibody iPhone like the modern iPads. Would be awesome.
  2. Darkseth has answered greatly. I want to answer your question directly. The base iPad is more than enough to run Procreate smoothly, so don’t worry about the performance when deciding between iPads. Instead, decide with the factors above.
  3. My Ryzen 3 3200u 12GB RAM HP 14 is holding fine with having Photoshop + Visual Studio + Unity being open at the same time. It’s not fast, but it’s usable. I get 50-60 fps on League of Legends on 1080p Lowest settings. I know it’s a generation old, but the core and thread count is twice the amount. Can there be an issue with your laptop? By no means I’m telling you to not get a laptop, but your statement seemed off to me. You might be able to get more from your current device.
  4. I mean, you can debate about the meaning of “with”. Anyways, I know what the real meaning is. I was just trying to tell that it wouldn’t worth the hassle if the OP doesn’t want to get an iPhone too, like how Linus does it.
  5. You can’t do real coding on an iPad as of now. Idk what will happen tomorrow, but I’d suggest waiting for tomorrows WWDC to see if they’ll allow code compilation on iPadOS. If not, then I’d suggest the Macbook Air M1 since you already have a decent PC, that is if you want to take coding seriously and do it in classes or out of your dorm too. If you just wanna code in your dorm, iPad would be a nice companion on the go.
  6. This question goes to show that putting M1 on an iPad confused people a lot. I hope Apple will do some very significant changes on iPadOS.
  7. I had a GM 5 like 3 years ago. It was having this issue too. I think it went away after a while, but you can try to clear the cache of the YouTube app, downgrade it or if possible, factory reset your phone. Not guaranteed though.
  8. Definitely wait for the WWDC. Leakers have been telling that pro apps for iPadOS are on the way, and IMO Apple pretty much clarified it with putting M1 and 16GB of RAM on an iPad. While most people who grew up with desktop OS software may not be able to adjust to a touch-first OS, many young people use iPads as their only computer. Nowadays, using an iPad as a main drawing/video editing device is proven and widely accepted. I think Apple would not lose this chance to monopolize their tablet market share even further. I will lose my mind if they announce an Xcode port These are just my thoughts, my hopeful thoughts Anyways, even if they don’t end up announcing anything significant (again, I highly doubt it) M1 iPads are just awesome. That Mini LED screen will look beautiful. You say that you’re an iPad person and will keep the device for 5+ years, I think it’s logical to get the latest and greatest. And when they announce significant software improvements down the line, you will have a capable device already.
  9. I switched from a Galaxy S8 to an iPhone SE. Battery life is same, though S8s battery was not good to begin with. I went with an iPhone because I am building an Apple ecosystem. This is my third device, alongside iPad Pro 2020 and AirPods Pro. One thing I like a lot about the ecosystem is how the devices work together. When I am using my iPad and my phone is not close by, I won’t miss calls since it pops up on my iPad. Or when I’m watching something on my iPad with AirPods and decide to go to bathroom or something, I can grab my phone and play the video there, AirPods connection will immediately switch. Having AirDrop is awesome too. If I quickly need to get a file from my iPad to my iPhone so I can send it from WhatsApp, I can do it with AirDrop. I’d go with an iPhone XR, it has decent battery life and has the new experience. But if you want OLED, definitely find a good XS. A12 and 4GB of RAM will still be relevant for some time.
  10. Hey guys. I have a low-budget computer that I built 4 months ago. I got the cheapest computer because that was what I was able to get. Now I want to upgrade it. I mainly use it for doing digital painting in Photoshop. Sometimes, the brushes lag at low spacing setting (lower means better quality, cuz there are more patterns applied). I don't know if the brush engine relies on the single core performance, or it can utilize more than one core. Tthat's why I'm here. What processor should I get for my system? My system is: Processor: Intel Pentium Gold G5400 Mobo: ASUS PRIME H310M-D RAM: 8GB Kingston HyperX Fury 2400MHz GPU: Nvidia GTX 750 1GB PSU: Corsair VS450
  11. Hello, I have a first gen Surface Book with dGPU. One day, I wanted to do a recovery called "Recover from Cloud". I started the process, but when it was at 0% downloading, I cancelled it. The screen stayed blue for a while, didn't turn off. Then, I held the power button to shut it down. After that, it didn't boot. The Surface logo was flashing between 6-7 seconds. I turned it off again by holding the power button, then tried to boot to UEFI. The key holding combination didn't work, no matter what I did. I also created a Surface Image USB drive with another computer, but, it didn't boot on the Surface Book either. In my country, there's no Surface device support. I wrote this on Microsoft's Surface forums recently, waiting for a reply there as well. Seeked help on other websites, on local computer repair shops, there's no luck. After having nothing to do, I disassembled the computer, thus voiding the warranty. It was a hell of a work, what an annoying device it is. I also broke the digitizer cable but that's not important to me anymore. I managed to disassemble to the SSD and took it out to see if it was the problem. I plugged it into another computer, but it didn't show up on BIOS. Thanks for reading up until this point. My another conclusion is that, the GPT partition on the SSD is corrupted. How can I perform a GPT partition recovery? Would any solution on the internet work? Because, this is a heavily proprietary device. What I want to learn is, would the SSD affect the device booting to UEFI(BIOS)? Because to my knowledge, BIOS resides on the motherboard. Would putting another, working SSD, will repair the computer? Or, do I need to do a special formatting to the SSD to recover it?
  12. How should I format it? Should I do a GPT partition recovery? Or just format it like a normal drive?
  13. Only thing I did was to do a force shut down, but before I did that, it did some partitioning stuff, what I'm thinking is, it corrupted the GPT partition. Idk how Surface Book does the BIOS stuff, but I feel like it somehow is related to the SSD. I want to try to fix it.
