  1. Because in the US 95% of people use SMS or imessage And in the US SMS just works. Actually I had sources and everything but it didnt post, ill add them and make it fit tech news
  2. I couldn't find anyone else posted this, so here. RCS is the SMS replacement made by Google that allows for things such as read reciepts, see when people are typing, work over wifi/data, and higher attachment sizes, so wayy better pictures. Anyway google announched RCS, or "Chat" almost 2 years ago. But US carriers were stupid and only supported it on not even a handful of phones, so google took over and said "screw the carriers" and rolled it out without their help. If it doesnt work, there is a work around where you find a secret menu and enable RCS. This is huge for the US, as many people use SMS or imessage as their main messaging. so the picture quality is a hugee difference, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eR-69amde6Q Disclaimer, it is my video. It is not monetized Sources: https://www.droid-life.com/2019/11/14/google-is-done-waiting-for-carriers-rolls-out-rcs-in-messages-today/ https://arstechnica.com/gadgets/2019/11/google-to-roll-out-rcs-messaging-to-us-android-devices/ RCS work around: https://www.androidpolice.com/2019/10/31/screw-your-carrier-heres-how-to-enable-rcs-in-the-messages-app-yourself-right-now/?amp
  3. I havent had my pc long enough to need to use compressed air or a vaccum yet, but a microfiber cloth does the job for now.
  4. I am looking for a good "contact me/get a quote" type of form for my dads website. his current website has a form that appears to be custom by his web designer, that when it is filled out, sends an email to my dad and the person who filled it out. The email contains info about the person, and a nicely formatted PDF with all the questions and answers from the form. The new website is hosted with 1&1 IONOS, (i may switch to Hostinger, as thats what i use for my websites), and has a built it form tool. It works, but doesnt format it nicely in the email. It can also integrate with Google Sheets, but it isnt that good. So does anyone know of a flexible (and hopefully free) solution to embed a forum on the website? It just has about 20 questions. Thanks in advance
  5. until

since they changed the time to later, it will probably start around midnight
  6. Relax, often PC build guides mention everything
  7. Can you send a pic of your build so we can look at it? Sometimes people forget to do things
  8. Do a speed test. Are you actually getting your full 18mbps up? What software are you using?
  9. Here a list that could have many things added: They could not be focused on putting an i9 in a paper thin laptop, most people that would actually need an i9 would probably prefer a little thicker laptop vs throttling piece of junk. They could launch cheaper iPhones They could stop making pro products near impossible to repair yourself, and even for the people who are skilled at this They could stop ripping people off by putting a 720p screen in a new iPhone and acting like it is amazing and selling for the same high price They could stop ripping people off buy selling iMacs in 2019 with a 5400rpm HDD Oh and about repair, maybe don't charge $550 to replace your stupid curved 1 piece back glass that is super glued to the phone Again, focus on cooling for iMac and Mac Book! Stop adding features and acting like they were invented by Apple, yes I know other companies do this too (Samsung, Huawei, etc.) Let people do basic things with their iPhone without them having to resort to something like Jailbreaking Stop removing things like the headphone jack. Yes, other companies did it too, but they wouldn't have if you didn't do it first. There are 2 main issues with Bluetooth headphones, the audio quality and reliability, and that AirPods are lost all the time because you didn't come up with a solution for that first Stop with the proprietary connections, like lightning, we get you like money. Actually teach apple store employees how to diagnose problems, instead of being like "oh display is cracked, replace display, gpu, board, and battery. $2000" Don't try to stop companies who replace a display without your permission How are you charging more than anyone for a phone, when the labor costs are so low, we always hear about the foxconn factories you use breaking labor laws and under paying. I could go on all day, but you get the idea
  10. 1 the view count doesn't always update accurately on YouTube 2 they could've watched it right away Edit: also if it was over 60 seconds or super short they might've skipped it
  11. Ok quick disclaimer, I haven't actually tried this, but theoretically it should work. So this involves Speedtest.net, but as you may have seen in Linus' video "WE GOT 10 GIGABIT INTERNET!", you end up maxing out the speed test server, since most people aren't going to get 10 Gigabit internet just to run a speed test server. So, what you need to test your internet: A computer A internet connection faster than 1gbps 2 ip addresses So you follow the instructions at https://support.ookla.com/hc/en-us/articles/234578568-How-To-Install-Submit-Server?mobile_site=true, And after You setup the server, get another computer and make sure you have this computer using a different external IP. Now, go to speed test.net and do a speed test using your server. Theoretically, you should be getting 9.8 gigabit or close. Bye. Edit: Mods, please move this to Networking. I'm sorry. ANOTHER UPDATE: Now I feel stupid, because the speed test wouldn't even leave your network..
  12. Try using my a different browser. If you have extensions or something that can slow things down.
  13. If they are non tech people, the rule is pretty much to go on Amazon, search router 300mbps, and sort by low to high. Anyone that isn't a no name Chinese brand should do the job. but seriously... Pretty much asus, tp link, Netgear, any cheap router. The only differences between them that might matter is if the WiFi signal is good.
  14. Just curious, what exactly are you trying to do? Open a store?
  15. Don't worry, I am aware about me not being able to do anything until I turn 18. My parents kind of understand, and also really want faster internet. I just meant they don't understand things like frequency, internet speed measurements like megabits per second, things like that. I will try to get one put on a building, but hopefully having a lot of trees around won't be a problem. I've heard for areas with trees I can use 2.4ghz antennas, but I probably won't because everyones WiFi is 2.4GHz. losing half the speed will still leave 200mbps, anyway. I've been inspired by people on YouTube like rmp5s and Crosstalk Solutions. Thanks for replying. Edit: also about the Red Tape, unless I wanted to put an antenna on a stop sign or something, I probably have nothing to worry about since these Ubiquiti antennas use unlicensed and open frequencies like 2.4ghz and 5ghz.
  16. Well the whole point of Craigslist is free advertising lol
  17. So for a year since I moved, I've been stuck on the situation of having 10mbps download speed and 1mbps upload, while 800 feet away there is AT&T and Xfinity gigabit internet. I could just live with it, but frick that. So I want to get 2 either ubiquiti nanobeam ac gen2s, or Litebeam ac gen2s, (haven't decided yet) for a point to point network. Meaning I get internet somewhere, like at a tower location, and run a Ethernet cable from my router to my 1st nanobeam antenna. Then I aim it like 1 mile or so away, twords the 2nd antenna at my house, that goes into my house into a switch or a.2nd router. I'm hoping to get around 400mbps. My problem is finding somewhere to put antenna 1, when I have only $3000 and can't afford to pay monthly for renting part of a giant cell tower. I don't want to put one on someone's house, and there are no small businesses that are close enough and aren't surrounded by trees. I was wondering if anyone has experience renting a tower before, thanks in advance. Just for some background, from my house I have clear line of sight of 5 towers. I don't know how to contact these people, they don't have signs with a name or something. Also I am 14 and can't just mount something on someone's roof. I honestly doubt I could get a tower even if I had $10k, because I am a kid, and my parents don't understand this stuff. And no, my parents can't just pay at&t to bring us fiber, they tried lol.
