You need a 300 series motherboard. Either Z370, B360, H370 or H310. Coffee lake uses the same socket as Kaby and Skylake however is not compatible with older motherboards due to different pins on the socket being used for different things (if that makes sense).

There have been speculations that nvidia would release cards soon, so nobody wants to buy a 1080 to have an 1180 be released next month. That’s what I meant. But sure, of you need a GPU and you know no nee cards are gonna be released for a while. Go for it.

Needing a build on a tight budget

If you really only need it for homework and browsing you can go for 2133 1x8 GB ram and a cheaper a320 board. EDIT: Still, if you game with that iGpu u can sacrafice RAM speed and overclocking your CPU really wouldn't be useful in your case as the iGpu will be the bottelneck anyway. -
Definitly i7-8700k in your case. The i5 is already somewhat struggling at streaming.
