  1. I guess its always more nuanced than my little kid brain wishes it was
  2. If I were in a situation where I could buy a gen3 2tb m2 ssd or a gen4 one, is there any reason not to get the gen4 ssd? It will work on my motherboard but just be throttled until I upgrade to a motherboard with a gen4 slot right? (I have an asrock B450M Steel Legend)
  3. yeah It just seems like there should be a solution to this boot related problem that doesn't immediately go to wiping the drive clean
  4. My Computer bricked one night and everytime I hit the power button immediatly flashed and then turned off. I took the only drive in the system out and put it in my friends rig to recover the data on it because It contains important school work and nothing I have done so far can let me boot with this drive. I put my friends drive back in and now hes getting the same error (in the title) as I was. Any suggestions? Thanks
  5. Not 100% sure what you mean but I have no direct ethernet access to the modem/router in my apartment
  6. at my apartment i get great download speeds but upload speeds so poor, i generally cant play any competitive online game because about every ten seconds or so i will get a lag spike. I have 3 usb wifi adapter of decent quality and all lag similarly. To test if it was the WIFI, i asked my friend with a mobo with built in wifi (mine doesnt have built in) to play games here, and when he did, he had great ping the entire time he used his mobo wifi and when he used each of my 3 wifi adapters he lagged every time. Does anyone have any idea on why this is happening or what to test. It seems like the wifi is good but my reception(or upload) is bad.
  7. https://pinoutguide.com/HD/M.2_NGFF_connector_pinout.shtml do you know if the chipped connector is at 1 or 75?
  8. what about the one with slightly chipped connectors?
  9. So I bought 2 corsair mp600 drives the other day on craigslist( tested working). and they were sitting on my desk. When I got back they looked like this(picture below).I believe my little brother mistook them for toys or something. One has some PCB completely off and one is chipped in a similar spot.Is there any way to salvage these whether to fix or do you think they'd be worth anything for parts? I'm quite upset because I dropped $350 on these.
  10. Thank you all for the answers. I think I will look for something a with more features and quality for a little more money
  11. oh will it not fit in a normal atx case?
  12. My motherboard recently broke during transit and I was looking for a replacement. I found a Dell 0V62H Optiplex 9020 , and am wondering If there are any reasons to be skeptical about using this. I am gaming on a gtx 970, and using a couple 2.5 inch ssds.
  13. Ok and also I agree the meshify C is the best case
  14. so I guess ill go ahead and try to purchase it, maybe I can get a discount because of his "filled cache" lol
  15. I was looking to buy an i5 3690 froom someone but they said "Just from being old, the cpu cache is filled so it needs to be cleared to get the normal clock time on it. It takes like 5 minutes I just never got around to it" I have never heard of that ever being an issue with a cpu and am wondering if it seems reasonable and if so, how do "I clear the cache"?
