I'm buying a NUC7i7BNH. It'll be interesting to see if the Windows 7 version of Intel's RST Driver actually allows the optane features. The most recent Win7 driver is a bit behind at 15.9.0.1015 but it may work. I'll report back if I manage to clear all the hurdles of installing Windows 7 on one of these devices. Aparently there's already an open source tool for ensuring windows updates will install on it, but I have not read of anyone installing Windows 7 on such modern hardware.
