seeing how far i can take a dell optiplex 7040 MT
jonrosalia replied to jonrosalia's topic in Build Logs
as a whole right now I can't suggest any 8 pin adapters to work with this model especially if this is your only pc. if anyone else has had luck please let us know what brand model will work with dells optiplex 7040mt or if I'm missing something I had the case all closeded up and everything routed in from the back and it still wouldn't boot for me.- 14 replies

you know what I think I can pull it out of storage and see if I can get it to work I gave up on it and started building from scratch mostly used but its still together and in the rack ill pull it out and let you know now that I have more parts/experience I might have solutions to it not booting with the addapter which really sucked and it at the time was my main pc so I didn't want to push my luck and kill it.- 14 replies

Logitech G935 headphones stopped working after Windows update
jonrosalia replied to iKatoz's topic in Audio
I would contact Logitech and ask them if they are doing anything about it -
depends on the application I run the stock cooler on my ryzen 1600 and have a 3.9 overclock on it and its fine don't think you need a aftermarket cooler unless you really want to push the cpu or your case has low air flow

My CPU and GPU only using ~50% Load in certain games.
jonrosalia replied to Bleiz's topic in Graphics Cards
try wiping the video card driver with a driver remover and reinstalling the gforce drivers it might be a bad install start there. but you realy should think about retiring the FX platform my 8150 was problems(stutters, lag, and a low frame max) in games even with my Rx 580 8gb in it. its night and day since i got a cheap ryzen 1600 x470 bundle. -

i say go for it if you can get it super cheap($20) and OC it to 4ghz its almost as good as a stock ryzen 1600 so you get good cpu performance just going to be missing out on new options but not a bad stop gap cpu for now -
yea thats a fairly nice laptop for the price and has wifi 5 for super fast wifi and anti dust fans being military spec

i would build a tower and keep using your mac on the go unless you do most of your gaming on the go. ryzen is a great option and bundle deals right now make building one very attractive with ram prices and everything where they are finally.

Daddy needs help with budget build
jonrosalia replied to Pulpamos's topic in New Builds and Planning
i would look for bundle deals like this and get a 6 core 2nd 2600 now and its the same price as your original choice and a lot better https://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails?ItemList=Combo.3868640 also if your going to build it new might as well make it pretty for the same money https://www.amazon.com/NZXT-Computer-CA-H500B-W1-White-Black/dp/B07C3SQP9V/ref=sxin_1_ac_d_pm?keywords=nzxt&pd_rd_i=B07C3SQP9V&pd_rd_r=4a3658aa-4a12-41f3-8d64-4935277b0028&pd_rd_w=jburK&pd_rd_wg=ykriu&pf_rd_p=64aaff2e-3b89-4fee-a107-2469ecbc5733&pf_rd_r=82YFR5D3Q7SB29C44RH2&qid=1559488332&s=electronics and for $80 you can get realy good ryzen ram 16Gb 3000 https://www.amazon.com/NZXT-Computer-CA-H500B-W1-White-Black/dp/B07C3SQP9V/ref=sxin_1_ac_d_pm?keywords=nzxt&pd_rd_i=B07C3SQP9V&pd_rd_r=4a3658aa-4a12-41f3-8d64-4935277b0028&pd_rd_w=jburK&pd_rd_wg=ykriu&pf_rd_p=64aaff2e-3b89-4fee-a107-2469ecbc5733&pf_rd_r=82YFR5D3Q7SB29C44RH2&qid=1559488332&s=electronics -
what kind of budget are you trying to stay in because there are some realy nice options all around right now depending on the price range and what part of the globe your on so we can see what the local market is like. also what are your local electronics retailers if you have access to.

Show off your old and retro computer parts
jonrosalia replied to TheTechnerd's topic in General Discussion
More new old stock 2006 things I started a build in this case and stoped because i changed my mind on what I want to do with it and I’m thinking of building a retro build with the open gts 8800 I got with the ultra and a period correct motherboard like a pentium extreme or something. Not going to use the power supply for anything. -
