  1. so what your saying is they just gave the existing game the most hardcore facelift possible the brings the gpu to its knees, vs if they rebuilt the game from the ground up with these processes in mind like say the demon souls remake where they literally just remade the whole game form 0. Doing that would have made the game have the visual fidelity people are expecting while still being as taxing, but would have cost way more time and money than crytek could and would have put into the project. Please correct me if im wrong ive been taking network+ practice quizes all day and my comprehension is shot for the day lol
  2. yeah but isnt furmark a synthetic test, designed to be as taxing my any means necessary, while a game would be a real world benchmark where the actual process in its own is taxing not just taxing for the sake of it. Im just saying if crytek purposefully used less efficient processes to just stress tf out of your system and not because the game actually needs those resources, than it would be a bit of a letdown.
  3. yup its called a clickbate title buddy, worked too
  4. First of all let me start by saying i have 0 proof of my theory below im just giving my opinion. So after watching linus's video and a couple other ones im pretty sure the can it run crysis is 100% artificial, id put money that crytek is adding some extra background processes or purposefully doing inefficient rendering processes that artificially increase how much strain it puts on the computer. This might be bullshit, this might be correct and already known, idk im just giving my opinion on the subject. It would be interesting if someone who had more resources or cared more than i do look into this once it officially launches. Until then im just going to chalk it up to a meme.
  5. what would be a good one? i got a couple nzxt case fans laying around
  6. Awesome ty, do you think 50-60% speed will be sufficient when under full load?
  7. before i start note i already bought a new psu to go into my rig, i only want to replace the fan because id rather do that and have an emergency backup/testing psu than just toss the mf. so i have the evga g1, the fan in it is going bad. I know most people just swap the 3 pin connector on the fan to the 2 pin connector that the psu board has. But in my research ive found that that psu doesnt supply enough power to the fan to drive the noctua fan. So because of this could i just drill a hole and plug the fan into an empty motherboard port, and set the fan to like 50-60% speed at all times in the bios and call it good?
  8. I found it on ali express but after shipping its almost as expensive as the monitor as a whole. Other than reddit marketplaces where would be good places to look? the model number of the panel is M270DTN01.5

    CRT Gaming?

do you just convert to an older input type or do you have a card with a vga out?

    CRT Gaming?

i mean as long as you find one that isnt completely trashed you can repair them with a little know how. God knows theres enough parts out there, might have to Frankenstein them but it works

    CRT Gaming?

a lot of people still use them, mostly for retro games like smash melee and speed running older titles, due to display lag when converting. So there's a market for them.

    CRT Gaming?

So i hate to be the guy that recommends a video idea, and im sure im not the first to talk about this; but i just learned of this subreddit today. https://www.reddit.com/r/GloriousCRTMasterRace/wiki/guide Basically what it claims is that crts provide many benefits over new modern day monitors. Basically it would be very interesting to be able to see someone with the actual time, money, and know how to break down these claims. Other people have done it but not with the resources that Linus and group have available to them. Has anyone here played with a modern system on a CRT setup and how did it work for you?
  13. Hello sorry for the super simple noob question but i have an old system that im buffing up a little for a friend, currently it has 8gb of ddr3 patriot viper xtreme ram at 1366mhz, i could use another brand of ram as long as the capacity and the speed match correct?
  14. Just talked my job into getting me a ifix it pro kit for work use, thanks Linus!
  15. ask around, private sales between you and a player are where you can also find some good stuff. Though buying from players is against most stores policies so be lowkey about them. Friday and Saturday evenings will be your best nights to catch people
  16. 5$-20$, ill edit it but yeah man, i sell mats at 20$ but a lot of smaller card games pump out promo mats in large numbers and they pile us so i just sell them at 5$ each since i get them for free 90% of the time
  17. little hack for you, go down to your local yugioh/magic shop, people will sell you large mats for 5$-20$ there, they are made out the same material as regular mouse pads and are roughly 1 foot by 2 foot in size. You could specifically ask for one from a game called force of will, and if they ever carried the products they will have dozens and they are braided so they will never fray
  18. yes it does, supports an adhock local connection
  19. So i recently overclocked my whole system, memory @ 3200, 8700k @ 5GHz, and my gpu but i seem to not be getting results comparable to other people with similar setups. For reference ive been using 3Dmark. Im fairly new to overclocking so i followed some guides, so if anyone could give me some ideas on what im doing wrong i would appreciate that. I have linked my 3Dmark results https://www.3dmark.com/spy/6475162 Edit: my card is the MSI armor edition, i know its not the best
  20. monster hunter freedom unite is a psp game ported to vita via the network, one of my favorite games of all time. Other than that the jak and daxter collection is a solid pick up
  21. but you can also get a 2080 for 680rn so idk how much cheaper the non rtx versions would be
  22. awesome i kinda wanted a 1080ti because i have zero plans to ever use ray tracing but i also want the better efficiency that comes with the new turring cards. I might just wait for the non rtx 80s to come out. Also little to no chance of using hdr
  23. for a little more clarity im specifically listing apex because its so demanding but its the kind of game i would run at at 144, as far as AAA games go like metro, i just want above 60 at max settings, enough to not give me a headace
