Yes, someone is having fun. Marketing. The amount of free hype the new line of cards has gotten already is literally gold for marketing. If I were doing marketing for NVIDIA right now, I will be booking my vacations already cause as soon as these things get announce, all my work will already be done for me and the cash dams will just break all over my bank accounts haha
-
But in all seriousness, have you restarted the computer? I had something similar happen to me not too long ago (MSI mobo) and a restart fixed it.
-
Have you tried picking it up yourself and just handing it to your PC? /S. Sorry, tittle was calling for this and I wanted to be the first to say it

Aaah, marketing, helping capitalism since the dinosaurs created bread and tried to sell it to the aliens under the pretense of it being the meaning of life. The aliens all knew the answer was 42, but the marketing campaign was SOOO effin good that it actually got them to wonder if maybe the French baguettes were the droids they were looking for. There was a post here on the site about the rumored prices of the new baguettes being like 42% higher than the cinnamon rolls from 2 and half years ago (ironic, really), but that post got shut down and later removed because it reached 600 pages of speculation based on nothing but rumors. Needless to say, the dinosaurs got just the marketing they were after cause aliens were talking about that bread for months before the baguette was actually even revealed. Internet. Clearly, /S

Per the very first sentence in the post, it'd be wise to edit your comment and removing this part of it. Your point is already well taken (and more than likely true, as well) and there's no need for this part. Thank you for your cooperation, fren.

WARNING: If you hate WCCFTECH, then you may go ahead and move on to another thread because this one is an exclusive from them. Unless you have actual good discussion points to contribute to this conversation, in which case, welcome, fren!. I try to keep this short. WCCFTECH has reported getting some naming details that are really interesting. Additionally, here's pricing details associated with the upcoming NVIDIA cards based on the new watt classes. I'll end this here for now, but do have a look at the full article. I will say, this is very interesting, specially considering that AIB partners don't even know what's going on with the naming situation. Can't wait till next month for more official news! Based on your description, it could be that: -you bought a heavily used card (seeing as it is within the crypto hype window) -may have messed up the cooling configurations (fan positioning, calibration, so on) during the cleaning process -damaged any part of the PCI connector One recommendation would be finding out if the card is still under the MSI warranty (which it might be if it wasn't used for crypto mining and it wasn't registered by the previous owner) and see if they can help you fix it. You can call tech support and they should be able to help you. My personal recommendation is to just buy a new card. GTX1060 3GB is about the same as 970 for roughly the same price point, but if a 900 series card is what you want, they are not that expensive anymore and you can get a 970 for about 250.

Toshiba is doing it big this year with their QLC NAND chips and I am so looking forward to this! TL:DR direct from the article: I am thinking this translates to SSD's at 2TB or 4TB for around the same price point as a standard 1TB, but I am sure a price premium will be "available" at lunch and for the next months to come after initial release. Now, Which suggest that the tech will be consumer ready for the holiday season. That of course could just be wishful thinking and WD might be moving that window to right into 2019. Either way, the biggest thing to take away from this as PC gamers is that once this tech goes live, current SSD prices should see a massive reduction in price, at least I hope. I personally also hope that this brings the 2TB Crusial MX500 or the 2TB 970 EVO to sub 100 USD. That's literally the best case scenario for a pure gaming rig since there's no way gaming performance and load times will really benefit all that much from newer drives. I could be wrong, of course. Thoughts? Source: https://www.techspot.com/news/75600-toshiba-announces-96-layer-qlc-3d-nand-chips.html

To all people saying 16GB is too much, let's think about this... Next-gen cards are supposed to be RTX ready. Maybe, just maybe, 16GB GDDR6 is the RTX standard for this architecture to still manage a 15 - 25% performance increase over last gen. Also, maybe pulling off DX12.5/13 (or whatever it is) requires this kind of power. Just a thought.

WARNING: LONG COMMENT AHEAD! CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K 6 Cores up to 4.7GHz Unlocked LGA1151 - It will give you best gaming performance in the current market with all the room you'd need for production and future proofing. https://www.amazon.com/Intel-i7-8700K-Desktop-Processor-Unlocked/dp/B07598VZR8 MOBO: Gigabyte Z370 AORUS ULTRA GAMING WIFI ATX LGA1151 - I own this MOBO, so I can vouch for it as a great choice! Specially for the price. https://www.amazon.com/Z370-AORUS-Ultra-Gaming-WIFI/dp/B07BVP6JY9 RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4-3200 - For gaming, you will never need/benefit further from any speed higher than 3200. 32GB because the budget more than allows for it. https://www.amazon.com/G-SKILL-Ripjaws-PC4-25600-Platform-F4-3200C16D-32GVK/dp/B0171GQR0C GPU: Gigabyte AORUS GeForce GTX 1080 Ti Xtreme Edition 11GB GDDR5X - Best all GPU currently for the price (second choice is an ASUS ROG variant). Personally, I would recommend waiting for next-gen 1180 at this point, but if you want future proofing and power, this is it right now. https://www.amazon.com/Gigabyte-GeForce-Graphic-GV-N108TAORUS-X-11GD/dp/B06XXJL3HM Monitor: Acer Predator X34 3440x1440 G-Sync @120Hz - I do not advocate for 4K resolution at any size below 35" because that's just a waste of money. 3440x1440 widescreen is the best sweet spot out there right now and this monitor is currently the best of the best in this section. Link says up to 100Hz, but it actually goes to 120Hz. I would know, I own this baby. For best gaming visuals, calibrate colors to 53 Green, 52 Blue, and 50 Red. Contrast is best at 39. Otherwise this guy is great out of the box. https://www.amazon.com/Acer-Predator-UltraWide-Widescreen-X34/dp/B016GNX4SE CPU Coolers: Cooler Master MasterAir Maker 8 - If you want to go with air cooling with room for light to mild overclocking later (personal recommendation). https://www.amazon.com/MasterAir-High-end-Featuring-Technology-Customizable/dp/B01B12DQ38 CORSAIR HYDRO SERIES H115i AIO Liquid CPU Cooler, 280mm Radiator - If you want water cooling and extreme overclock. https://www.amazon.com/CORSAIR-Radiator-Advanced-Lighting-Software/dp/B077G3C6HH PSU: CORSAIR AXi Series, AX1200i, 1200 Watt, Fully Modular Digital Power Supply, 80+ Platinum Certified - Because why not. The lowest I'd recommend is 850W @80+ Gold. https://www.amazon.com/Corsair-AX1200i-Modular-Platinum-Certified/dp/B008Q7HUR0 Case: Cooler Master MasterCase H500P ATX Mid-Tower - Beautiful case, lots of room, includes extra fans, USB ports, all the good stuff at a decent price. https://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-MasterCase-Mid-Tower-MCM-H500P-MGNN-S00/dp/B075N132C2 Storage: Samsung 850 EVO 2TB 2.5-Inch SATA III Internal SSD - Because 2TB on an M.2 SSD is the dream combination right now and the 850 EVO is cheaper than while still outperforming others. You could go with another brand, but right now this one is the best configuration for the price. https://www.amazon.com/Samsung-2-5-Inch-Internal-MZ-75E2T0B-AM/dp/B010QD6W9I Hope this helps. -

Good to go! This being the case, i would recommend going for an Intel system with an i7-8700K and the GTX 1080ti. I will detail the specific components that I think will accomplish your goal beautifully in the next comment Have to actually put them together in list format lol. -
