  1. What a mature way to end a constructive conversation...
  2. Okay let's say the cpu is the only thing that'll limit your performance, so you got your titan Xp, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and 1200W PSU going. Then you want to run let's say GTAV at 120fps on high settings on 1080p.
  3. Build quality is rather an issue of the past, you can break any laptop if you're not careful. I treat my HP Omen laptop with a lot of care, and haven't had issues in over a year now, even though the 2nd biggest complaint about is is "build quality". Just don't smash your hands on the keyboard or throw it anywhere and you'll be fine. It's the 2nd biggest complaint, as the first is cooling. We're talking about gaming laptops. Those get hot. Those mostly sound like a cow. You use headphones. It's not that it's going to thermal throttle. I've used an Asus FX502 for a while in the past and I never had a single issue. They offer incredible value for their price, and I couldn't be a bigger fan. They're way underrated.
  4. What about this one? No SSD, but hey, it's the definition of what you need (GTX 1050, 1TB HDD, 8GB RAM, i5-7300HQ Quad-Core 2.5 - 3.5 GHz) https://www.amazon.com/Powerful-i5-7300HQ-Quad-core-Processor-FireCuda/dp/B076H6X5SS/ref=sr_1_4?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1527764891&sr=1-4&keywords=asus+fx&refinements=p_n_graphics_type_browse-bin%3A14292273011 If you do want some loading speed, then this SSHD might be a good option: (GTX 1050, 1TB SSHD, 8GB RAM, i5-8300H Quad-Core 2.5 - 3.9 GHz) https://www.amazon.com/8th-Gen-i5-8300H-processor-GeForce-FireCuda/dp/B07BP9QG2J/ref=sr_1_3?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1527764990&sr=1-3&keywords=asus+fx&refinements=p_n_graphics_type_browse-bin%3A14292273011&dpID=51VhIiuxe4L&preST=_SY300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch And if you definately want your Windows on an SSD, you could go with this one: (RX 460, 128GB SSD + 1TB HDD, 8GB RAM, AMD FX-9830P Quad-Core 3.0 - 3.7 GHz) https://www.amazon.com/FX550IU-WSFX-Gaming-Laptop-Graphics-Windows/dp/B071FR526X/ref=sr_1_2?s=pc&ie=UTF8&qid=1527764990&sr=1-2&keywords=asus+fx&refinements=p_n_graphics_type_browse-bin%3A14292273011&dpID=41I4x-8%2BeuL&preST=_SX300_QL70_&dpSrc=srch
  5. I've been wanting to use different colors, but I can't seem to figure it out. That's why I uploaded the excel so everyone can try it out. Yes, the results have been professionally averaged by UL's Futuremark itself. All values come from there (https://benchmarks.ul.com/compare/best-gpus?amount=0&sortBy=SCORE&reverseOrder=true&types=DESKTOP&minRating=0)
Hope this helps GTX 1060 6GB: https://www.ebay.com/itm/ASUS-NVIDIA-GeForce-GTX-1060-6GB-GPU-Video-Card/183244899271?hash=item2aaa3f43c7:g:EHcAAOSwm8NbChtA RX 480 4GB: https://www.ebay.com/itm/PowerCooler-Red-Dragon-RX-480-4-GB-GDDR5-Gaming-Mining-Slightly-Used/132640482430?epid=2030153191&hash=item1ee1fd247e:g:FCYAAOSw-a1bC~o8 R9 Fury: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Sapphire-R9-Fury-Tri-X-4GB-GPU/153038016607?hash=item23a1c6d05f:g:31oAAOSwt5VbCcIP
  7. Oh okay, but then how? How does it make the lifespan shorter? It's intuitively logical to expect a graphics card to last fewer years if you put maximal load on it 24/7, but why is that true? What part of the card wears out?
  8. Actually, what part of the electronics on a graphics card is the victim of mining? Why does mining make a card slower?
  9. Won't you get at least 120 fps with that set-up? I was just about to suggest a step-up to max settings and 120 fps lol
  10. So the rules are simple: I'm looking for the best performing GPU in current games, at the best price! That means we can go from a GTX 550Ti up until the Titan Xp, the value/price ratio is the only thing that matters. To make competition fair: - Average/general Ebay prices only (cards like the RX 480 have great value/price, but you won't find them new in stores anymore!) - As a means of comparing performance, we'll use the Firestrike Benchmark scores from Futuremark (although discussion is possible regarding VRAM and DirectX usage!) - Overclocking capabilities can also be brought into consideration, but any airflow tweaks you need for it add up to the price of course! I'll kick things off by submitting the R9 Fury! At a price of roughly a little more than $300, it has a Firestrike-score of over 15500, which I think gives you guys a hard time topping that already Good luck to all!
  11. Really? So you're saying I could pair that with a 1080Ti and get an fps there of like around 80?
  12. Let's say 1080p, also, overclocking is possible, but you got to count in the price of the fan/water block!
  13. For reference: what is the cheapest cpu (or set of cpu's; never disrespect those xeons ) that won't bottleneck in let's say battlefield 1 on high settings in 1080p with an fps steadily above 60? 2nd hand ebay stuff is allowed! You can submit an overclocked one, but you got to count in the price of the fan/water block!
