Im building a computer again from the ground up, stoked! I want the Cryorig R1 Ultimate heatsync - 169mm in height. & Fractal design meshify mid tower - max cpu cooler height 172mm. am i cutting it too close?

I'm planning on building a new pc from the ground up. I will be looking at playing the latest battlefield & fallout on a ultra wide 1440p resolution. My budget will be $1200cad for CPU and mobo. I was thinking of asus maximus rog hero x combo'd with Intel i7, dunno which one yet. I have always stayed loyal to asus, am I better off going with msi or gigabyte?

Hello, My computer specs are i7 3770k CPU, 16gb ddr3 ram, ASUS P8Z77-V mobo, 1000w gold series psu etc... If I get a 1080 ti GPU for this potato, will it run at 100% performance or would I only be getting like 70% performance out of it? Thanks,
