  1. FTC going to appeal it and UK's CMA willing to engage with both parties if there is a modification to the transaction Microsoft-Activision faces fresh blow to bid to buy Call of Duty maker - BBC News
  2. An AI Christmas Greeting to you all
  3. Bizarre having someone who tested something sitting off camera and not make an appearance to talk about it. It was the same with a monitor review a while back in which they mentioned James was the one who'd been to Samsung, I think it was, to take a look. LTT have staff who are more than capable of reviewing stuff on cam and seem to be present during filming but not appear to give their opinion first hand.
  4. Summary A case has been filed with the UK's Competition Competition Appeal Tribunal (CAT), alleging Apple's 30% commission on app sales is an abuse of dominance and unlawful. Quotes My thoughts It'll be interesting to see essentially the same case as Epic vs Apple but being brought from the viewpoint of the customer. Will be keeping an eye on it to see whether it gets past the first hurdle as class action lawsuits don't exist in the UK and it needs to pass a tribunal first. I wonder if something similar will happen elsewhere and whether Google will become the focus of similar cases Sources https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-57062139
  5. Thought this was interesting from the same articel Wonder if more will follow suit, cutting down on the electronics as much as possible
  6. Summary A fire at a factory belonging to semiconductors firm Renesas could have a "massive impact" on its ability to fulfil orders. Quotes My thoughts Yet more bad news for the microchip industry at the moment Sources https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-56486242
  7. I see the video title changed from the clickbaity one. Guessing that didn't go down well considering the numbers of dislikes
  8. Amazon keeps records of every motion detected by its Ring doorbells, as well as the exact time they are logged down to the millisecond. Source: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-51709247
  9. Saw a suggestion elsewhere that using https://www.youtube.com/?disable_polymer=1 or this FF add on https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/youtube-classic/ are possible workarounds
  10. I went to this site: https://register.ubisoft.com/acu-notredame-giveaway/en-US It asked me to log in and then asked me whether I wanted to download or run UPlay. No checkout process or anything.
  11. Use my computer as an entertainment centre - got a TV USB stick and play DVD/Blu it so use a drive on a daily basis. Used to have a Lightscribe drive but hardly used the feature. Just a gimmick as it took too long to do.
