The best in the business? This brand has been garbage for a complete two decades. The oxidating GPU blocks, the CSQ fiasco, nickel plating tearing out... remember older days? And they don't do their own stuff usually it's just stuff they take from Asetek in AIOs, and pumps from some company down Slovakia.

The country they're from aren't even great for producing high tech stuff. If you look at who makes these things, you'll see a lot of hippies that worked for this company. Not people like uh... name me a tech giant? Igor Rosanov, who built Dr. Web anti-virus in 1992... after working on MIG planes. Nobody out of EK, as a person, holds any redeeming value to watercooling. Their stuff is overpriced and garbage. They're the Fiat of watercooling, everybody knows Fiat, entry-level.

People who are better at watercooling would buy Aquacomputer, Heatkiller and similar brands... actual gear is out there, let EK rebadge unreliable, cheap DDC's.

Why do you think EK's DDCs pass out in couple years while the old school Swiftech ones have been going for so long?

Yeah, EK sucks, just like EVGA. They deserved this themselves long ago. I will not miss them.

Well, 'Nix distros put A LOT less overhead than Windows. There's a reason so many servers rock 'Nix, well, aside from the fact that Windows Server version of Win 10 fla costs $850 lmao.

Your antic style laptop shows an "M.KEY" wi-fi card typically soldered to two signal pin-outs. The picture is showing a x1 PCI-E slot. So no go, no fit.

Just buy a cheap PCI-E card for wi-fi / BT. TP-Link makes some.

Apacer has some of the dirtiest cheap prices towards the E18 refresh Phison w/ DRAM. It performs like flies out of a HDPE trash can on a good day...

Well typically I would, and I actually will given how you keep swinging your Johnny Hallyday steel cowboy belt around in here with these sassy statements.

What I'm even more amazed is that, you actually managed to pull couple fellas over to your side with that highway patrol rules in here with using such an overly great attitude! Le bon temps du Techpowerup attitude! Bonsour!

Quelque chose du Techpowerup moderation? Oh yeah, you're using this forum's chill factor as a way to get off your "new guy" tone. Honestly, a simple "go away nerd" would be a more basic reply in here. I'm thinking to unsub from this thread already as it's been nothing but nuance.

Yeah the platform is dying and AMD is doing everything they can to keep it alive, the info is out there. My low voltage 4.7 all core might not have been all that stable, but I can guarantee you it was legit reliable on the chip itself. Has been a while anyway. I don't like pumping a lot of voltage to the vcore...

And yeah, you make it sound like you know everything while running a shroddy 4x8 RAM setup (I suspect your cowboy self doesn't realize AM4 boards are typically traced to run the best with the RAM on the 2nd and the 4th), and then achieving high OCs using heavy voltage (let it be PBO OC), then swinging around your skills as if you really know all the stuff.

    Go home.

There is no ideal matchmaking, what about having bad days and then better ones during the gaming session? What you said was tried as well and some games failed with it, you would still get automatically SBMM'd down to the starter level. If the game counts your wins and losses automatically and puts you in a certain room, you can guarantee the game is creating a walled garden for their player base.

The only games that don't do this, are the ones that truly lack SBMM aka old school multiplayer shoot em ups like Counter-Strike Source, Unreal Tournament, etc. You know the old style drill.

SBMM is truly evil and should go by any means possible. Or at least, like in R6 Siege, include modes where it's ranked with SBMM, and where unranked without SBMM. See, solutions exist. You don't need to tweak the SBMM evil to make a man out of a game.

Indeed, cheaper boards make RGB control more of a PITA than it already is.

Try Signal RGB if no other avail...

I see ol' Carol is still tagging up some professionally silly remarks regarding all games having poor algorithms, like SBMM of COD or random generated loot in battle royale games, lmao.

Carol, have you even ever played games outside of the public trash like COD, PUBG, etc? Do you remember there were arena games back in the day where the algo would just spawn med kits and armor and bullets on a basis and being smart and skillful paved your way through? Not every game is designed so poorly the lucky idiot who sits camping in a shed gets to win the game out of 100 users lmao.

COD was still keeping on rolling on strong with the last game, but they messed it up after the launch as well. The Jailer and the new gulag, etc, COD loves to mess its own self up on a regular basis. Like change gun balance so much, the weapon you main primarily breaks out of nowhere and you have to grind another gun lol.

So yeah, I can safely say I pretty much quit COD after the first month of the last release. I quit other games like Resident Evil as well due to how much they started sucking during the last 2 titles.

There are things that would make me come back to some games, but several franchises were already dead in dog water when companies were making new ones to them. Like Battlefield. I don't game much at all anymore, so it takes something strong like a F.E.A.R reboot for me to get back into it... otherwise I just fly in MSFS, etc. Simulators... chill-out. Until I feel braindead flying around to almost nothing happening around anyway, lol.

I suspect you're talking about that single copper block with a little blower up top that blows heat to the direction the cooler is mounted to, using 4 metal screws. I have it on a 12400F but have no idea how loud it is since the build I've done seems to be short circuiting.

But I do know for fact that you can PWM it, and it's rated up to 120W or something. The 12400F has several stages to the amount of power / boost it achieves. It can probably easily be tamed by that cooler, without any actual levels of noise concerned.

It might however have some blower chime, compared to a non-blower design. That is, considering you want ultimate silence.

Honestly with a laptop, you might have better luck buying a cheap but solid interface like a Presonus Studio 24C, then sticking it up to a fine mic. That way, you get the Universal Control so you have the means to fine tune the compression, etc. It'd take you to a whole different level than just sticking any random headphone + modmic solution to your PC. You can get some good cans and attach them to the interface too... win-win.

Ever since hardware decoding died with the games like EAX in F.E.A.R, the bonuses of directional audio on sound card level have been murdered. Putting sound cards in the 6 feet hole. All this happened years ago. Most decent onboard solutions carry on.

With that said, a pair of good headphones would work either way.

Just make sure they're comfortable. From what it sounds like, this is something you're concerned about. The 770's are not the best in that sense if you insist on putting them on for countless hours.

I don't know all about headphones, but I can give you safe advice on ditching that gamer headset and going with a dedicated mic.

In that case, you get to open a whole lot of other, much better options. If you're worried about your head getting warmed up, I might suggest the Sennheiser HD 25 Light. A lot of DJs swear by it from what I've seen. In general.

HyperX Ngenuity is just bad btw.

LTT needs to cut down on the meme videos and bring back the Acer Predator kind of more tech-mumbo-focused stuff from 2016... you know, CES shows, actual ride ins to computer stores, etc. It is the way I'd focus more on their videos. For me, either they do it with a more serious face or keep beating the dead unicorn horse which is the corny jokes and 1 minute of content swagged out to 5 minutes. I simply wouldn't watch them at that rate. At least, not every video. Not at all.

There are a number of annoyances with it, first it only has mini DP's on the panel. Sure, this is not a biggie but mini DP does not lock in and was originally created as a plug for the professional wall display setups and such. Then you have the smart OS of it, which may or may not be a biggie to you. It's bit of a dedicated monitor with an OS than a standalone one. Typical late Samsung era flavor.

The panel, it probably does some sub-sampling of pixel movements to deny burn-in's from happening. Most modern OLEDs do it now.

Though my biggest gripe with OLED is eye sensitivity. I like my panels at higher levels of contrast and brightness all day, so you can guess.

It doesn't need to be said, I stopped watching the video when he said the wife joke. Sure, it was an example and he didn't say it word by word...

but I am going to get back to my main post. Wife jokes are downright low level. Heck, even jokes about other people's boy or girlfriends are really bad.

It's bad enough to start fights in common norm. Nobody needs some wanker's thoughts about their partner. These kind of jokes are often times made by people who can never get in a proper relationship. I don't know the guy since I don't watch a lot of LTT, but either way, it is all over the place.

Given the replies, I'm doubting most the people here can put their shoes into a married individual. I understand you may want to defend LTT, but I don't see the point. Come to think of it, say I tell you that I'm going to screw your wife at a party. You would probably be afraid so much, you would want to punch me in the face IRL. I wouldn't care who wrote the script, that's just Winger material. It's uncalled for.

Ignore the professional silly user above.

If somebody gets kicks out of marriage jokes, I don't know what to say in this case. I mean I would, but all the things considered... you know the kind of replies I'd come up with. Don't bring yourselves down to their level.

The usual way is to buy and see with these things unless you find absolute information, sadly.

Since your laptop is pretty old, it's ought to have its own procedure as to how the HDMI algo works.

I'd recommend going small and high refresh just to be on the safe end.

Like it's not as much professional as a custom carbon, but it's still a nice bike IMHO. Was kind of cheap for what it is, I'm going to install a Suntour SP12 to the rear to absorb the shocks better. It's going to increase weight (bike is 11.9kg stock), but hey, beats butt pain...
