The many ways streaming services fuck over their customers are insane to me. They actually make Denuvo look good in comparison.

At this point, paying for this stuff instead of sailing the high seas just sounds like a massive hassle, and it should be the opposite.

In before arguments about how some ex-hot tub streamer who is now doing nude body painting and twerking on a stripper pole is totally an artistic expression and not at all porn.

I am sure these new rules were introduced to cater towards high-class connoisseurs of art who just value fine expression of creativity. Not at all aimed to allow soft-core porn.

Do you have a laptop? Just connect it with a hdmi cable to the TV for when you have your D&D sessions. I figure even an old laptop will do for this.

Ever since the 90s, I used to hear how piracy was terrible and same as stealing and how it would ruin the video gaming industry.

Now in 2023, video games make more money than Hollywood and yet game companies are greedier than ever, with literal gambling mechanics being shoved into games made for kids.

So I say: fuck them. If you cant/wont pay for a game, feel free to pirate it. The gaming companies will be swimming in cash anyway.

Giganthrax got a reaction from Mark Kaine in Experimental Youtube "feature" detects and blocks some users of ad blocking browser extensions on Youtube
Oh come on, 90% of internet users aren't even tech savvy enough not to click on HORNY SINGLES IN YOUR AREA popups, let alone learn how to install adblock. Also, I suspect the majority of youtube views come from people who are watching it on their phones, and those are even less likely to know how to block ads.

Adblock users are always going to be a tiny minority. Youtube never has and never will be seriously threatened by people who use adblocks. This is 1000% just Google being greedy and wanting to appease its shareholders.

Nah, the views, likes/dislikes, comments, and view times of adblock users still help the channels they're watching immensely. Adblock users are also no less likely than anyone else to buy merch and other stuff that directly helps the creator.

The reason we use adblock is because we don't to watch no bloody ads, and ain't no one gonna force me to do so.

Still running mine (8300 overclocked somewhat). It was pretty good when optimised in the day, just not a good deal. Useless today if you want to do anything cpu heavy.

To me, that CPU is like that crappy car your old man gives to you when you first get your driving license. I still remember it fondly and have a soft spot for it in my heart, even though I know it was never a good CPU.

I actually ended up selling it and my GTX 960 to a friend of mine who occasionally plays old games. He's happy with it. So that crappy little hero of a CPU is still putting in work and making someone happy, all these years later. 🥹

Are they wrong? No not at all.

However for its time that psu was a good unit however its simply missing all the new protections which makes things safer in case of a catastrophic failiure of an outside or inside element.

Its not like you have a bomb in there. Just a good psu design in 2012 which is now at best mid in terms of what features and such it has in 2023.

I dont recommend pushing it but as is it will be fine.

Same thing with my original hx1000 from 2010. It'll happily run 4x gtx 280's and a ocd i7 920 no sweat but it turns off running a 3080 and stock i7n920 because it cant handle the way modern stuff draws power. Still goes down safely but if done too many times or something else happens it can fry my stuff

    Power supply recommendation
"Now we come to the point, which leads the expected sensation of exploding power supplies completely ad absurdum. Even IF you hopelessly overpower the card, no one really needs ATX 3.0 power supplies over 1000 watts, unless the CPU eats more than 300 watts. This is really just a job creation measure for the struggling power supply industry and only satisfies the sick imagination of some standardization fetishists. You really have to put it so harshly. So you should always stay below 600 to 700 watts even together with the CPU, if you count up to 10 ms. Because it is what the power supplies still “see”"

Radeon RX 7800XT and RX 7700XT Review - AMD, XFX and Sapphire against NVIDIA with reason or energetic crowbar | Page 11 | igor´sLAB (igorslab.de)

Recommended is 600W. Normal power spiking is ~330W but can spike to ~440W. In this case, the recommended is probably fine, unless you're running it with an overclocked 13900KS at 100% all the time. 650W power supplies being an abundant choice, but if you wanted to be safe, an 850W power supply hits a good value to flexibility point in my opinion.

A 620W Seasonic that's about 5 years old is still likely able to maintain at least 600W, so I think you're good. If you wanted to overclock the 7800 XT or CPU upgrade in the future, then I'd suggest upgrading the PSU, probably to an 850W.

I'm aware that this dead horse has probably been beaten up already in this thread, but I still gotta give my 2 cents.

Madison's allegations are very sus. Companies with gigantic workloads and toxic cultures like she's describing tend to have high employee turnover rates (I've seen it quite a few times), for obvious reasons. And yet LMG has a ton of loyal faces who have been there for years? It just doesn't add up.

She also deliberately injured herself to get some days off work? WTF is she, a soldier in Vietnam? It's just a job and you're living in a 1st world country, just take your frickin sick days like a normal person. The other allegations sound like she's just throwing shit at the wall to see sticks. Provide proof or GTFO.

Yeah that's been my experience also at a few different places. I was the one that ended up leaving.
Almost any factory I worked in was like this, a lot of managers talking a big game, but basically if you didn't like sports and drugs/alcohol you were an outlier and were treated like shit.
Of the 25 or so people in my recruiting group that got hired, only 3 were left after 6 months. That's insane turnover. New faces almost all the time.
I honestly cannot see anyone at LMG just walking up to somebody and calling them a "faggot". People who do that, who genuinely treat people like that, really stand out.
And as I mentioned before, I've personally witnessed coworkers touch each other in a consensual way, and then have one of them outright accuse the other of inappropriate touching.
Yes it did happen, just like they said.
    Yes it was inappropriate.
But both parties participated and it's not right to take those moments out of context to get what you want.
