  1. Who would buy this? Cant integrated gpus do everything this card can already?
  2. Cube 2 Talos Principle 1 & 2 The Swapper
  3. The many ways streaming services fuck over their customers are insane to me. They actually make Denuvo look good in comparison. At this point, paying for this stuff instead of sailing the high seas just sounds like a massive hassle, and it should be the opposite.
  4. 16gb, but all the free games and coupons are nice at times.
  5. Maybe you can use Steam Remote Play or Parsec to remotely connect to your computer via the laptop?
  6. Do you have a laptop? Just connect it with a hdmi cable to the TV for when you have your D&D sessions. I figure even an old laptop will do for this.
  7. It depends on what games to play, what resolution, etc. If you play on 1080p 60fps, with upscaling technologies I can easily see this running most games well for at least the next 8 years. If you're chasing 4k, ray tracing, etc., then you may need to upgrade a lot sooner.
  8. Ever since the 90s, I used to hear how piracy was terrible and same as stealing and how it would ruin the video gaming industry. Now in 2023, video games make more money than Hollywood and yet game companies are greedier than ever, with literal gambling mechanics being shoved into games made for kids. So I say: fuck them. If you cant/wont pay for a game, feel free to pirate it. The gaming companies will be swimming in cash anyway.
  9. Oh come on, 90% of internet users aren't even tech savvy enough not to click on HORNY SINGLES IN YOUR AREA popups, let alone learn how to install adblock. Also, I suspect the majority of youtube views come from people who are watching it on their phones, and those are even less likely to know how to block ads. Adblock users are always going to be a tiny minority. Youtube never has and never will be seriously threatened by people who use adblocks. This is 1000% just Google being greedy and wanting to appease its shareholders.
  10. Nah, the views, likes/dislikes, comments, and view times of adblock users still help the channels they're watching immensely. Adblock users are also no less likely than anyone else to buy merch and other stuff that directly helps the creator. The reason we use adblock is because we don't to watch no bloody ads, and ain't no one gonna force me to do so.
  11. My AMD FX-8150 has served me real well, lol. To me, that CPU is like that crappy car your old man gives to you when you first get your driving license. I still remember it fondly and have a soft spot for it in my heart, even though I know it was never a good CPU. I actually ended up selling it and my GTX 960 to a friend of mine who occasionally plays old games. He's happy with it. So that crappy little hero of a CPU is still putting in work and making someone happy, all these years later.
  12. Thank you for all your replies, people! I appreciate them. SID's reply concerns me a bit, but if it turns out my Seasonic can't deal with newer hardware, than that would probably be a good reason to upgrade.
  13. Hello everyone, MY PROBLEM: I want to upgrade my GPU but I'm not sure if the power draw of new GPUs is going to be too much for my PSU. My PSU is a Seasonic M12II 620W. Been using it for roughly 5 years now, works great. I currently have a Ryzen 7 3700x and a GTX 1070 8gb, 16gb RAM, two SSDs, and some HDDs. The CPU has a default TDP of 65W (no overclock), while the GPU has a TDP of 150W and a suggested 450W PSU. This shouldn't amount to more than 250-300W total usage even under extensive load (gaming is the most heavy-duty thing I do on my computer). I'm thinking of getting an RX 7800 XT (TDP 263W) or possibly a RTX 4070 (TDP 200W). Now, these TDPs should fall well within the limits of my 620W PSU (the newegg calculator says the rtx 4070 should be fine), but the minimum manufacturer-recommended PSU wattages for these GPUs are 700W and 650W, respectively. Is there something I'm missing here? Since my PSU is getting a little long in the tooth, is it possible that it may have lost a significant portion of its total power capacity? Should I stick with lower TDP GPUs or can I safely install something like a RTX 4070 and not worry about it? Replacing the PSU is not an option at this time, as I don't feel like dishing out the extra cash or having to disassembling my whole PC to install it. Thanks for your input!
  14. I think this has more to do with the industry. Women on average just aren't as interested in technology and computers as men are, so it's probably much harder to find a tech-savvy woman to work at a company like LMG, and they probably aren't as interested in sticking around for a long time as guys are. If women were leaving LMG because of sexual harassment or were otherwise treated badly due to their sex, I believe we would've heard a lot more about it by now (LMG is pretty high-profile and there's a lot of very public backlash about this sort of stuff for companies like Activision Blizzard). Also, while I obviously don't know Linus and Yvonne personally and can't say for sure what their actual values are, I'm of the opinion that the two of them would never allow something like this to go on under their noses. In any case, I hate how these allegations have been publicly thrown out there via twitter, instead of going through proper channels. I hope the truth comes to light soon.
  15. Fair enough. That being said, LMG has been around for a long time now. If they had very high employee turnover rates due to overwork, we probably would've heard something about it by now. Not saying it can't be true, just that the allegations are really sus. I guess we'll have to wait and see.
  16. I'm aware that this dead horse has probably been beaten up already in this thread, but I still gotta give my 2 cents. Madison's allegations are very sus. Companies with gigantic workloads and toxic cultures like she's describing tend to have high employee turnover rates (I've seen it quite a few times), for obvious reasons. And yet LMG has a ton of loyal faces who have been there for years? It just doesn't add up. She also deliberately injured herself to get some days off work? WTF is she, a soldier in Vietnam? It's just a job and you're living in a 1st world country, just take your frickin sick days like a normal person. The other allegations sound like she's just throwing shit at the wall to see sticks. Provide proof or GTFO.
  17. Eventually, realistic game graphics will look basically undistinguishable from real life. I'd say we're definitely going to get this sometime in the next 20-30 years or so. Since processing power is unlikely to max out in the same way (you cant really make a game more detailed than real life), we're eventually going to reach a point where a device's performance is no longer a factor when it comes to running games that look exactly the same as real life. When this will happen, who knows, but I wouldnt be shocked if it happens during our lifetimes.
  18. Scalpel-level MSRP + crypto crash causing market to be flooded with used GPUs + PS5/new xbox being affordable in comparison = nobody buys overpriced new GPUs.
  19. I've sank tons of hours into Nioh 2, Dirt Rally 2, Chivalry 2, Age of Wonders Planetfall, and Quake Champions. All excellent games.
  20. The growing GPU prices and power requirements are a trend I really dislike.
  21. Gaming and video/3D rendering are the two most demanding tasks the vast majority of people will do on their PCs, hence why reviewers focus on gaming benchmarks and rendering benchmarks such as Blender tests. There's really no reason to focus on other things in a review since a computer that can run AAA games well and deliver good rendering times will automatically also be able to do anything else you may need it to do as well.
  22. I couldnt care less about Returnal, but it does surprise me how console exclusives are getting to PC faster and faster nowadays. I wonder why that is. It could be that the devs just dont want to sign 100% exclusivity deals anymore. Or it could be that the PC gaming market is larger than before and therefore more lucrative for Sony.
  23. I couldnt care less about the idea of a metaverse, and I dont know anyone who does. I just hope Zuck will make cheap VR headsets that dont suck so I can play dirt rally in VR.
