I'm familiar with the British Army's processess; the guy or girl who leaked the information is for the lack of a better word screwed. It does not matter how 'small' the information is, the fact it was classified above Offical means they are in the hurt locker.

KE2012 reacted to avg123 in All right I had enough. I am unsubscribing from linustechtips.
I have been a subscriber for 5 years. I used to regularly watch his videos but in past years his videos have been increasingly annoying. I hate the recent linustechtip store product placements and clickbait titles and Linus's clear bias against Apple has come to a point where honestly I cannot trust his reviews anymore. The latest Google pixel 4 review video "Apple should be embarrassed- Google Pixel review" is clearly so biased that it really made me question his intentions. Its a review of an Android flagship phone, yet he only compares it to iPhone 11 and no other Android phone like Samsung or Huawei  and constantly finds ways to bash Apple instead of honestly reviewing a product. At this point I genuinely think he is kissing Google's ass by praising the Google product on the google platform youtube and taking every opportunity to bash Apple.

KE2012 got a reaction from ILoveZed in Razer Blade Stealth for long term use?
I have the The Razer Blade 2018 edition and it has been by a very long way my best laptop. For very long term and as a primary driver, I would recommend looking to get the maximum amount of storage space though. Blades don't come with a whole lot, so you will want to invest in a good external HDD.

Yeah, about 5 to 6 hours when just using word, etc, but that is the full blade, which is designed to fulfil a different role to the Stealth. I've heard they can get around 8 hours, but as i haven't got one to test myself, don't take my word as gospel.

The fuse in a UK plug is to protect the cord from the plug to the appliance, fuses don't protect against excess voltages either.

KE2012 got a reaction from AMDPRO in Disappointment with LMG
I too got sick of the click bait and in general poorer quality videos as LMG now focus on quantity over quality imo, which has resulted in me unsubbing from all their channels. I'm not disinterested in tech though, I still watch other YouTubers like Jay, just sick of the LMG methods.

I should have got the hint things had a cloudy overlook when original staff members left a few years ago.

Thankfully, people on this forum are still good chaps which is why I'm still here.

KE2012 reacted to Granular in Razer's laptop UEFIs susceptible to malware infections
Although, I just remembered reading about a way to make Intel ME turn off once the OS has booted. It had to do with a 'High assurance platform' bit, which the Tom's Hardware article mentions.
If you're REALLY concerned, you could look into that, but what I can find about it says it's similarly undocumented.

According to Tom's Hardware (from October 2018), no. The Intel ME is not documented and the tools for managing it are not generally available.

KE2012 reacted to Granular in Razer's laptop UEFIs susceptible to malware infections
A security researcher has announced his findings that all Razer laptops are currently shipping with the Intel Management engine in 'Manufacturing Mode', which means that if malware with administrative privileges infects the OS, it can protect itself from removal by burrowing in the firmware.

Again, this requires that the malware have administrative privileges on the OS. So it's not like it makes users susceptible to getting infected with malware, it just makes infections potentially resilient to OS reinstalls/drive swaps. As The Register notes, CVE-2018-4251 was first observed in Apple devices. So not only is this a security flaw, it's another aspect in which Razer copies Apple.

If the UEFI was open source and this presented an opportunity for users to modify their own firmware for good, I would perhaps side with Razer on this, but as-is, it's disappointing negligence from a supposedly premium brand.
