  1. It honestly sounds like a motherboard issue to me as well.
  2. Try these steps: https://www.qualityology.com/tech/disable-asus-motherboards-uefi-secure-boot/
  3. I would try disabling SecureBoot completely. I have had this happen where SecureBoot prevented the windows 10 boot image from booting
  4. Okay. i will look at the dump files when i get home.
  5. So I am at work currently and don't have the utilities to analyze the dump files, however, my first thought is the RAM. Have you verified that the old RAM is compatible with your new PC?
  6. If it ever happens again, this is a page i have bookmarked for when this happens, either the solution above, or the steps in this article will more than likely help: https://pureinfotech.com/reset-windows-update-windows-10-fix-downloads-installs/
  7. From the Users Manual: Please see the image attached. I would try hitting the button to see what happens
  8. To me, it almost sounds like there is another scheduled task that is taking place at that time, and Win Defender is scanning what that task is doing in real time, causing resource usage spikes. Also, regarding there being no scheduled task listed, that doesn't mean that another program may not be running something in the background with a scheduler internally.
  9. I 2nd Packet Tracer. Even if you are using some other brand of devices, packet tracer is awesome to get a basic topology down for your network.
  10. Crazy idea.. I have had a few instances where I have had this happen, and it was solved by going into ncpa.cpl (The Network Adapters Screen), Right Clicking the wireless card and going into properties. Click Install, Protocol, and select Reliable Multicast Protocol.
  11. It sounds like there is a possibility that the IDM app is Malware, which is hitting the network performance somehow.
  12. If you don't need more than 128GB of storage (Don't plan on installing lot's of large programs, etc.), the i3 is good, however, you could also just buy an SSD to upgrade it with. The Ryzen is also a decent deal for that price.
  13. This one seems to be a nice choice, It doesn't have a DVD Drive though, but I recommend external ones in today's time anyway! https://www.amazon.com/ASUS-VivoBook-i3-8145U-Windows-F512FA-AB34/dp/B07QQB7552/ref=sr_1_19?keywords=Laptop&qid=1579106630&refinements=p_n_feature_five_browse-bin%3A7817224011&rnid=2257851011&s=electronics&sr=1-19&th=1
  14. So I may be in the minority here, but I have had a Dell XPS 9570 15 going on 2 years now, and I have loved it ever since. The newer XPS line is great for creators IMO!
  15. What all have you tried so far? Could be a lot of different things, but the simplest thing that jumps out at me is the Chipset Drivers being Corrupted / Out of date
  16. I was just fixing to suggest a MemTest. That is what it sounds like to me, or it could be something related to drivers that windows is installing upon installation.
  17. Okay gotcha. I am not very familiar with the Orbi routers, I have heard great things about them though.
  18. Yes, That would definitely correct the issue if it is a Wireless Problem. if you don't mind me asking, what router do you have?
  19. From my experience, Access Denied sounds like a Windows Username / Password issue, but I could be wrong. I see you have already attempted to use the username and password switches!
  20. To be honest, it could be a hardware issue or it could be an ISP issue. The ISP could be having issues randomly and/or QOS is taking place
  21. Yes, RAM that isn't up to spec of what your processor, etc. needs will cause really weird and troublesome issues. Getting the better RAM should fix your problem
  22. Sounds to me like the Audio Jack isn't supportive of that type of earbuds. Usually when they come with a mic, etc. it has more rings than standard. My new Laptop has the ability to support both together, and it is great!
  23. That was going to be my suggestion. The last time that this happened to me, it was a driver issue..
  24. I agree here. Sounds like Windows had an Icon / Explorer corruption but corrected itself!
