  1. I know that Microsoft has stopped supporting 7th Gen and up processors from Intel and AMD's new line Ryzen with Windows 7 and 8.1. I was wondering if this applies to Windows Server 2012 as well? Does Microsoft support Sever 2012 on these newer processors?
  2. Hello, I was wondering if someone could tell me what the latest processor line was for AMD prior to Ryzen?
  3. I have actually trying installing these fixes in the past before I purchased Windows 10 Pro. They seem to work with installing the updates. However, I would always get pop ups from Microsoft stating that my hardware was not supported with this version of Windows.
  4. Ok perfect.. I am not an expert on AMD by any means. Is the FX line the latest line Pre-Ryzen?
  5. I have been doing some research regarding which AMD processors are supported by Windows 7 and 8.1. I have not been able to find much information regarding this question. I was wondering if someone could shed some light on this for me. I have been using Windows 10 Pro on my Ryzen PC. I am completely fed up with Windows 10. I know that my Ryzen chip is not supported by Windows 7, or 8.1.
  6. Does HP Sell a good Glossy Monitor? I see that the HP 25er might be glossy??
  7. I was wondering if someone could tell me if there are any glossy monitors out there anymore? I really like the glossy monitor. They are good looking a the colors are much more vibrant in my opinion. I had the Dell S2415h and loved it however Dell does not make this monitor anymore. Any help with finding a glossy monitor would be much appreciated.
  8. Has anyone used a 32" TV as a computer monitor? I am looking at maybe using one.
  9. I have successfully installed and activated Windows 7 on my 7th Gen laptop. Windows 7 actually runs much smoother than Windows 10 did on this laptop. I have even installed Windows updates successfully as well. Really the only issues that I am running into is the graphics driver, and the warning message from Microsoft stating my system is not supported. Microsoft is completely to blame for the lack of support for 7th Gen and newer processors. It is pretty obvious that Microsoft is forcing users to Windows 10. My opinion is that Microsoft has been upset that users have not jumped over from Windows 7 to Windows 10 liked they had hoped. There are many different articles out there stating that Windows 10 has overtaken Windows 7, but that is far from true. Latest articles from PC Magazine have showed that Windows 7 is still the prominent OS for Windows PCs. Also there are several articles stating that 6th Generation Processors are being bought up like crazy because of this as well. I have a good friend that works at Dell and he said that Dell has continued to offer their new PCs with the 6th Generation Processors since many customers still prefer Windows 7 over 10.
  10. I have a question for all of you. I do not know if it is possible, but I have a laptop with a 7th Gen Processor. The issue that I am running into is that some of the software that I use on a daily basis requires Windows 7. I have been able to get it to work on Windows 8.1 as well. However, Windows 10 will not play nice with my software. What I was wondering is if there is anyway I can run Windows 7 Pro, or 8.1 Pro on a 7th Gen Processor without getting the constant Microsoft message stating that my OS does not support the hardware? I also cannot find a graphics driver that will work either. However, Intel's website states that the graphics driver is supported for Windows 7/8.1/10 which I found interesting. I really don't know if this is possible, but thought it was worth a shot asking.
  11. In a perfect world for me Microsoft would make Windows 10 look like Windows Vista. I highly doubt that will happen, but I can dream I guess. I just really wish that Microsoft would move from the metro theme and back to the areo themes.
  12. I would like to stay around $500 for the CPU and Graphics card.
  13. I am building a new computer to do some drafting and design work using Chief Architect, AutoCAD LT, CorelDRAW, and Microsoft Word. I have been reading several discussion boards regarding CPUs and these types of programs. I cannot seem to get a clear answer as to which one of these CPUs would actually be enough to preform well. I would like to know if any of you have had any experience with these type of programs and which one of these CPUs you would recommend.

    Windows 8.1

Is anyone still using Windows 8.1?
  15. Is there any third party software out there that makes Windows 10 look like Vista/7? I have used Classic Shell but it has been buggy.
  16. I wish Microsoft could Make Windows 10 look like Windows Vista!! I do not think it would take that much effort on their end since they have the resources for both. If Microsoft came out with and update that make Windows 10 look like Vista I would be a happy camper!! But, I do not see Microsoft veering away from the flat, ugly UI Windows 10 currently has. Honestly to me it seems as though Windows 10 is a step back in time to the Windows ME days..
  17. I couldn't agree more! It is kind of interesting how many articles are out on the web talking about how ugly Windows 10 is, yet Microsoft does nothing to improve the UI. It makes me wondering if they are secretly working on a new version of Windows?! I know that Microsoft has come out and stated that Windows 10 will be the last major release for Windows. I personally beg to differ.. There is way to much money involved with major releases.
  18. Your right! Honestly, Vista was a very good looking design. It's to bad that it didn't operate as well as it looked.
  19. Here are the versions of Windows from XP to 10. I personally find Windows 10 to be the dullest one yet.
  20. Windows Vista was hands down the best looking OS in my opinion as well. To bad Vista didn't function as good as it looked. Windows 8.1 was a solid OS as far as functionality (Minus the Home Screen) but Windows 8.1 icons still looked pleasing to the eye; where Windows 10 icons are just flat dull!
  21. I am curious to know what you all think about the look of Windows 10. I personally feel that Microsoft kind of dropped the ball when it comes to looks regarding Windows 10. I personally like the look of Windows 7 much better and wish that Microsoft would have incorporated some of the same look to Windows 10. I guess I am just not a fan of the new Metro Look. What do you think?
  22. I was wondering if anyone has every ran both of these CPUs, or know much about them? I have been reading up on both of these. It looks like they are pretty comparable other than the $40 price difference and 4 Core vs 2 Core. I am looking at putting together a home PC for my kids and wife to use. Basically the only thing this PC will be used for is Microsoft Word, and Web Browsing. Both of the processors seem like they would be a good fit, but not sure what the major advantages and disadvantages of these two are.
  23. I am trying to avoid this discussion turning into a Windows 10 vs Windows 8.1 topic. I already know that Windows 8.1 is unpopular to many people. My personal preference is Windows 8.1 over Windows 10. However, I am fine spending whatever I need to in order to get a good motherboard. I will be running 16GB DDR4 Memory. The only area that I am wanting to be on a strict budget is the CPU. I have read quite a few reviews on the AMD FX 8350. It seems to be that people either like them, or hate them; there is not a clear reason either way. What do you guys like about the FX and what do you hate about the FX?
  24. Hey everyone. I have getting ready to build a new PC. I will be using Windows 8.1 Pro. I know there are going to be many of you out there that say just upgrade to Windows 10. However, I personally do not like Windows 10. I think that UI is ugly and dull, plus I already have the Windows 8.1 Pro license. With that being said I know that both Intel & AMD have stopped supporting Windows 7/8/8.1 with their new CPU's. I am also on a budget so I am not looking at anything outrageous. I am just looking for something that will work well for what I do with my PC. I am not planning to game on this PC, but I will be suing software like AutoCAD, SoftPlan, Chief Architect, PhotoShop, CorelDRAW, Microsoft Office, and web browsing. The processors that I have been looking at is the AMD FX series, and the Intel 6th Gen Pentium, i3, and i5. Could any of you guys out there recommend what you would bet would be the best CPU for around, or under $200.
